He demonstrated intelligence by kicking ass at the most cerebral position in sports since he was a freshman in HS. You don’t get recruited to college football’s national champion and during your time there, put a body of work together that gets you drafted #1 overall at QB if you’re not damn smart.

Peyton Manning is throwing to Blair White, Austin Collie, former nobody Jacob Tamme, and a formerly benched Pierre Garcon.

Manning is about to set career highs in yards, while throwing his 2nd most career TDs.

Matt Schaub beat us without Andre Johnson. He did just fine.

Big Ben continues to throw well and win games with a garbage O-line.

You forgot to mention that Manning still has Pro Bowl wr Reggie Wayne. And in case you didn’t notice, the guy has struggled. He thre what, 11 picks and three games, four of them pick-sixes. Unlike the Colts of yesteryear, they’re fighting for their playoff lives with two games left.

When it comes to Shaub, understand that when I say supporting cast, I’m not just talking about wrs. I’m talking about the running game and the defense as well. If my memory serves me correctly, Shaub’s running game, which features the league’s leading rusher Arian Foster, kicked the schitt out of us that day. Didn’t even need to pass. Too bad his D sucks so bad or maybe he’d sniff the playoffs for the 1st time in his career.

Brady still has Welker, a great scheme and Belichek as his coach. They’ve managed to stay ahead of the NFL for years (gag), with or without Brady. 11-5 with Matt Cassel in 2008 is all you need to know.

No QB in the NFL gets more help from his defense than Big Ben. Won’t try to take too much away from him because he creates something out of nothing a lot of the time. But the guy has not been lighting it up lately. Just look at the Baltimore game a couple of weeks ago. He can afford mistakes because the D will cover him. And I’ll take Ward, Wallace over any of the receivers on our roster. The supporting cast is EVERYTHING.

No commending needed, in fact might as well take the time to admit being wrong.

The MO for him was good first halves and bad second halves. Good starts to the season, falls apart in November-December.

Well this year, he has been much better in the 2nd half of games than the first, and was awful to start the year and has gradually gotten better (he still blew in the first half last week, but again was much better in the second half).

I still find him far from a long-term answer, he never can even string together a consistant good month, better yet a season. But I would much rather have him than McNabb, Bruce, Palmer or a rookie in 2011.

He has earned his slated raise next year, and really with a good last two games, maybe even an extra year or two are on the table.
