In all seriousness, Merry Christmas, Raider Nation. I owe Al his due for having the Raiders mathematically alive on Christmas. I would have bet my life against it before the season started. What a year, whether we make it or not. Ey?

2 bucks says someone gives you crap for posting something positive rmr.
December 25th, 2010 at 10:47 pm
props though. Hope we can make the playoffs. Feels good to say that this late in the year.
December 25th, 2010 at 10:52 pm
Poor Raiderdebo
Thinks the Dallas qb play was “great” today and it proves the cast is more important than the QB.
Debo, you should watch more football if you thought todays passers were anywhere near great.
December 25th, 2010 at 10:55 pm
Two pick-sixes, Fitzgerald catching his first pass in the 4th, 50% completion rate…
Lack of QB play is the reason those teams aren’t sniffing playoffs.
Nothing else is more important than QB.
December 25th, 2010 at 10:56 pm
Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Nation!
December 25th, 2010 at 10:57 pm
I expect the Raiders to be called on some crap penalties tomorrow, so they can help the Colts get into the playoffs.
Ugh
December 25th, 2010 at 11:02 pm
Cheetos, we lost to two NFC west teams this year and squeaked by a third.
What do you think we can do to improve vastly next year and not be demolished again by the Patriots,Jets, Packers, Bears, and Dolphins?

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
QB may be the most important position, but no position in football depends more on the guys around them getting the job done. Remember, Joe Gibbs won three SBs with three different QBs. How do you explain that?

December 25th, 2010 at 11:51 pm
I find it interesting that for all this talk of ‘America’s Team” etc. etc. in the last 15 years the “lowly” Raiders have 3 x as many playoff wins in that same period of time.
You’ll never hear THAT statistic on the networks will you.
December 25th, 2010 at 11:54 pm
thats a good question. Basically do what we did this year. Get better.
December 25th, 2010 at 11:56 pm
How many Super Bowl appearances does Dallas have in the last 15 years?
How many Super Bowls has San Diego been in again?
How many major sports championships has San Diego won in that storied sports cities history?
Just curious.
December 26th, 2010 at 12:03 am
Ya the jags game killed us too though. If we had beat them wed be in control of what laid ahead of us. Instead were the team whose stuck hoping people lose.
December 26th, 2010 at 12:10 am
Why has every single game played by a losing team in Texas been televised in the midwest this year?
Why is an organization that has a psychotic head coach who pulls down his pants in front of his players for motivation referred to as “classy”?
Why is a feisty up and coming team with character players referred to as “dirty” and an organization who’s best player states that he tries to injure other players on purpose referred to as “the class organization of the NFL”?

And the sad part is WE HAD THAT JAGS GAME and it just seemed like we choked it away by fumbling a dang kickoff return and allowing big plays that should have never happened.

#16 money
December 26th, 2010 at 12:18 am
Yeah but at least were not sitting here thinking about who were going to lose to next. but damn it hurts thinking we couldve easily won 9 games by now in fact shouldve.
December 26th, 2010 at 12:20 am
NFLN is posing the question “Who will win the AFC West, the Chargers or the Chiefs”? They aren’t even mentioning that the Raiders still have a shot. All that has to happen is SD lose on the road to Cincy and the Chiefs lose to Tennessee AND the Raiders take a winnable game against an 8-6 team and then play a winner take all game against a team they have already beaten once already. Will it happen? Probably not, but it’s not like it’s a ridiculous scenario.
I would love to see this scenario happen just to see the shocked look on these prognosticators’ faces if it did happen.
December 26th, 2010 at 12:30 am
Good point Cheetos.
December 26th, 2010 at 12:40 am
sd could also lose to denver. Were not out of it. People seem to write us off against indi. If Kc goes down id actually be a bit shocked if we lost. I understand the whole not watching the scoreboard but that only makes sense to me if we get eliminated. Use it as ammunition if we do indeed have a shot at the playoffs by the time we play indi.
December 26th, 2010 at 12:50 am
If we can’t beat Indy at home than we just don’t deserve to be in the post season anyway and it is what it is.
I’ll be watching that KC game (speaking for myself). I have to admit I won’t be too excited about the Indy game IF KC wins, although it ould be nice to clinch a non-losing season at any rate.
December 26th, 2010 at 1:00 am
yeah id like to see us have a shot at 9-7. Give the pats the worst pick we possibly can.
December 26th, 2010 at 1:07 am

I tend to think the Raids are pretty much where they’re supposed to be.
The only game I can honestly say we should have won and didn’t was Arizona.
Realistically, we got a little lucky to win against KC.
The first SD game was a nail biter that could have gone either way.
Tough loss against Jax, but we gave that away.
JaJason primarily responsible for the loss against the Niners. That’s a game we could have easily and should have won.
Blown out against Tenn, Miami and Pitt.
Never really in the game against Houston although the final score says otherwise.
Got past the Rams.
Smashed Denver twice.
Very nice win in SD.
Beat Seattle handily.
Sure, we could have easily won one or two more games, but we also could easily have one or two less wins.
So, my thinking is the Raids are where they deserve to be record wise.
Either way, even if we fall short of the playoffs, this season was a step in the right direction and lends hope for future success. Things are looking up.
December 26th, 2010 at 4:56 am
Raiderman
You are right, We could easily be 5-9, nonetheless I am blind in one eye and I cant see out of the other therefore all I see is we should have beat AZ at the very least.
8-6 Thats the ticket
December 26th, 2010 at 8:17 am
I have shyed away from watchig the Chiefs games this year and rooting against them because:
A) Well…..they are kind of boring
B) There always seemed like there was a better game on
C) I would maybe watch a little more of a game if I had FF players involved
Not today, I will be going crazy for the Titans today. And please Jeff Fisher, I know you probably hate him, I hate him, some of his teammates probably hate him and half the football fans of the world hate him, but you got to throw at least a couple of deep balls to Randy Moss. Enough already.
Raiders!!!
December 26th, 2010 at 8:25 am
Wouldn’t it suck if KC and SD lose today AND the Raiders lose? Yes it would Johnny and thanks for bringing it up you jackass.
Let’s see what size cahones Jeff Fisher and his Titans have to pull off a nice pride/spoiler win today.
I’d feel better about Cincy’s chances if TO wasn’t out and Ochocinco wasn’t “questionable”. Who is Carson Palmer gonna throw to to pull this glorious victory off? I hope Marv has a plan and Rivers arm falls off.

Over 30 given up to Pitts, Miami, and the Jags since the bye week.
Defense determines today’s outcome!
December 26th, 2010 at 8:40 am

Didn’t realize that.
December 26th, 2010 at 8:41 am

December 26th, 2010 at 8:43 am
Wow. This is a huge day for football. All kinds of big games going on.
Not enuff TV’s in the house to watch it all.
I loved seeing “America’s Team” have their XMAS ruined last night. And the WAY they lost was priceless.
Enjoy your double digit loss season Cowpies.
-Raiders MORE playoff wins in the last 15 years than Gods favorite team? No way.
December 26th, 2010 at 8:52 am
Over 30 given up to Pitts, Miami, and the Jags since the bye week.
***********************************
Defense certainly didn’t play well, but they got no help from there offense in the Pitt-Miami games, and gave up 2 TD drives in the Jax game under 35 yards due to spotty special teams play.
December 26th, 2010 at 8:54 am
Jacoby Ford and the Raiders are the main headline on yahoo sports.
I know people in here bag on Yahoo sports (and sometimes rightfully so) but there is no other sports website out there that talks more about the Raiders and has given us more love this season, and it really isn’t close.
December 26th, 2010 at 8:57 am
The offense has enough on it’s plate already and shouldn’t have to worry about “helping” the D or STs.
How about the defense keeping the game close when the offense is struggling?
December 26th, 2010 at 9:00 am
How about the defense keeping the game close when the offense is struggling?
*****************************
They aren’t that type of unit yet to do that too often.
How many teams out there really keep the game close when the offense is struggling to score 10 points like the Pitt-Miami games.
They certainly did do their part in the SF and Rams game though, keeping those close when the offense was putrid.

December 26th, 2010 at 9:04 am
Miami and Jags were 2 defensive letdowns. There is no way to spin it. Miami with a broken leg QB? 31 pts in the 2nd half of the Jags on big plays?
In the context of today’s game, safe to say Manning is WAYYYYY better than those QBs who hung 30 on us, lol.
Defense better be ready today.
December 26th, 2010 at 9:06 am
Cassell is not a good QB IMO. Throws the ball away pretty well instead of turning it over. I give him that.

Debo, again you bring up what happened 30 years ago when the NFL was a simpler collection of talent and modern schemes were in their infancy.
Todays NFL is a QB league. See any average QBs in the playoffs besides NFC west? Maybe Sanchez, who at least is young and improving. Otherwise you don’t make the playoffs with an average veteran quarterback.
December 26th, 2010 at 9:28 am
Just Fire, are you ignoring Cassell having a better year now in his third season than Campbell ever has? very convenient.
December 26th, 2010 at 9:32 am
Cassell playing for Belechick and the current set of coordinators = decent QB. Running game, STs, and defense clearly carrying that team.
Didn’t Haley want to bench Cassell last year without Weis?
December 26th, 2010 at 9:36 am
I would take Matt in a heartbeat over JC
December 26th, 2010 at 9:37 am

No T.O.??
December 26th, 2010 at 9:38 am
I’d take Matt too, but I don’t see much difference in games that we lost this year. Cassell doesn’t prevent a 31 pt collapse in Jax.

Sorry Armond, but I’m not making a big deal about bringing back the 2nd string RB. Our BIG back doesn’t run like a Brandon Jacobs, if you will.
I’d spend that Mike Bush money on Vincent Jackson!
December 26th, 2010 at 10:40 am
CB in the 2nd RD, or sign J Joseph in FA. Seymour and TK can carry this team another season, but we need to add another DT in later RDs/ FA (if we couldn’t keep Henderson).
December 26th, 2010 at 10:40 am
Cassel 12 of 13 with 2 TD’s and 0 ints.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:41 am
Wouldn’t spend too much to resign Miller either. No names like Moiaki and Henderson can be found in rd 4 or 5. See KC and NE.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:42 am
14-0….titans suk
December 26th, 2010 at 10:42 am
Titans are pathetic. This looks like a massive blowout.

Bunch of dumpoffs to Jamal Charles.
Wiess is a genius!
Imagine if we had a OC like that?!?!?!?
December 26th, 2010 at 10:43 am
If we want to bring back Bush, we could keep him with a 3 years 7 million dollar deal.
Teams draft RB’s in the 5th round, pay them 350K, and they are just as good as Bush.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:43 am
I like Bush a lot, he was projected as a 1st RD pick (before he broke his leg), but wecan always add a power back in later RDs. I like to keep Bush, but he is not really a power back. He is a big boy, but he doesn’t play like it.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:44 am
Bunch of dumpoffs to Jamal Charles.
****************************
Bowe had 5 catches in the first quarter alone.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:44 am
Miller is the one of our best weapons, and we need/ will resign him.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:45 am
17-0 KC.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:45 am
4 catches actually, sorry.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:45 am
17-0, oh well it was fun while it lasted….
December 26th, 2010 at 10:46 am
Where is Randy Moss for Tennessee?!?!?
December 26th, 2010 at 10:47 am
Troy Smith sucks.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:47 am
How lucky is KC? Playing a gutless Tennesee team, back up QB Jags, Bills instead of Steelers? I hope they get killed in wild card game if they win the division.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:47 am
I cant see the game from here but man does that Tenn defense look pathetic on the print
3 drives, 3 scores? Com’on man WTF! You came to play or what!
December 26th, 2010 at 10:47 am
titans look like they want to go home…its too cold for them there…
December 26th, 2010 at 10:49 am

They would play either the Ravens or Jets.
Will be a good game.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:51 am
Yeah. Tenn is not as good as when we played them. Can’t believe the Fish and VY with their drama problems.
ZMiller is a keeper. Its crazy to think otherwise. Just think of how long we went WITHOUT a good TE. Now we got one and you don’t want to resign him? I think you need to reconsider that.
Man,you guys complain when we dont have some said position filled but want to get rid of a guy that completes that position for your team.
3 years leading receiver and you want to get rid of him? CRAZY!
December 26th, 2010 at 10:52 am
Come on Titans, at least get 3 points out of this.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:52 am
Go Raiders! As Always….
regardless of the other scores, a great game against the colts would be a nice touch to a dramatically improved team’s season.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:53 am
Wash puts up 30 pts last week and is up 10 this week, lol/
McNabb needs to retire.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:53 am
‘Sup fellas.
Not looking good, is it?
Tenn looks as helpless and toothless as a newborn in a crib.
Where in the hell is that big, physical, athletic D-line from earlier in the season?
Geez.
December 26th, 2010 at 10:54 am
Anyone see McGraw’s late hit? He shouldn’t be acting tough the way McFadden pushed him around a few weeks back hahah
December 26th, 2010 at 10:55 am
We should have been 10-4, and we could have won our division. We are 5-0 in the division.
Tenn, AZ, SF, Miami, Texans, and the Jags are games we should have won. Atleast win against AZ, SF, and the Jags!!
December 26th, 2010 at 10:56 am
Looking for McClain to have a big day…
Looking for a few sacks with Huff and/or Branch coming off the edge.
Looking for a great game for McFadden and Bush on the Ground, (I hope we see alot of Bush in the 1st half wearing down the colts d-line between the tackles)
Looking for the safeties to step it up in coverage
Looking for Aso to be back and Healthy
Looking for Z Miller to be healthy and have a big game

Its hard to say who’s to blame for this. The QB shuffle and Cable to me are the focus. Cable I thnk has done a pretty good job this season considering our recod overall and where we have come from; but something has to be said of our abysmal failures outside the division.
Something is definitely wrong there …says to me the team lacks the focus and intensity game in and out. You can’t just show up vs the division. That’s on coaching. Something wrong was done here.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:00 am
Buckeye,
What’s up bro?
I don’t think it was their DL dominating our OL. We started Veldheer at C, our OL didn’t play well, and the Defense allowed big runs/ plays like they always do.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:01 am
LOL…..good to know we aren’t the only team that gives up 3rd and 19.
Matt Cassel is a pro-bowler and MVP candidate.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:01 am
We will finish this season at 8-8. Been saying it for a while now. And I think that’s an amazing thing considering how bad we have been. It’s all good, next year we make the playoffs. We now know who we are, and what we need to get better. I just hope they do keep Bush, Miller, and the others that have made progress this year.
We might lose tonight, and win next week. We must finish 8-8 for this season to be meaningful, otherwise, it will be a bit of a disappointment.
Keep Cable too, don’t mess with the chemistry.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:02 am
i hate the titans
December 26th, 2010 at 11:02 am
Velheer startin at C with very little reps/experience was a Cable blunder.
If this offseason comes down to Cable or Hue leaving. I’ll take Hue without hesitation.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:03 am
Well it was a nice season guys…Go Raiders, but it’s time to start talking about the draft and free agency…
December 26th, 2010 at 11:04 am
Ravens or Jets will destroy the chiefs, I can’t wait.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:04 am
0-24 WTF! The only team getting blown out today so far. The Fish is toast in Tenn.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:04 am
TR,
Exactly. Something is wrong with that pic, and the coached earned their share of the blame.
We need to fire Marshall, and find ways to improve our HC and offense.
I’m not saying we should fire Cable, but I think we need to add a DC and an assistant HC, and keep Hue one more year but have the assistand HC involved in the offense.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:05 am
We need to see the young guys finish out the season.
Play Bruce Campbell, Goethel, McFadden, Ware, and Stevie Brown.
We need to see what these guys can do.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:05 am
Chiefs are not even the best team in the division any given Sunday. I think the Raiders have proven that. They’ll be bloodied in the playoffs. Freakin’ wimps.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:05 am
Gawd, this is pathetic.
Any chance Tenn could swing a trade for Mike Vick and Desean Jackson at halftime? Those guys are off today.
Chiefs are good, but not this damn good. Titans just mailing it in. They ought to be ashamed.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:06 am
jhill
bush is a damn good back. the coaches should use him more along with dmc. it wont cost as much to keep him and we can still get vjax. we need a de more than dt cuz we only have 3 including scott. coaching fugged the season up when they made figurs the return specialist tho he fugged up in the preseason. he then did in the opener what he did in the preseason and they act surprised by it. that set the tone for the season. mishandled the qb situation and sitting shawny for scott at de. they had a solid game plan to start the year and for some stupid reason they went away from it. we just couldnt recover in time. im all for marvin lewis as d coordinator next year. it was right there in front of us and they blew it. better coaching has us with 10 wins easily.

Somebody please explain WHY Jeff Fisher is such a hot prospect as a coach?
I think he sucks.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:10 am
terrapin
cable said that he put alot of emphasis on the division games and that may have resulted in such a different performance against the rest of the league. we need a real direction for this team. al will spend all of his money on talent but doesnt match that talent with the best coaching. its azz backwards to me.
al davis has alot of soul serching to do. stop fugging around with these wannabes and get some proven winners here to lead this young talented team.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:12 am
You mean if WE get Jeff Fisher we can get blownout by average teams too?
I didn’t like the Titans before this game and I sure as he## don’t like ‘em now. Puzzies.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:14 am
How dis we let the Titans Blow us out
December 26th, 2010 at 11:15 am
Smoke one for me too, O.
Judas H. Priest. About to crack open a cold one. Was gonna wait til Raider kickoff at 4:00, but damn.
This games gonna drive me to drinkin’. LOL.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing airplane glue!
Cryin won’t do any good…might as well laugh.
December 26th, 2010 at 11:32 am
We should have kept Kerry Collins!
