Looks like Raiders will play spoiler

Arrived to spectacular sunshine at the Coliseum but a gloomy outlook in terms of the playoffs with the Chiefs taking a 24-0 lead when I got to the press box.

With the Tennessee Titans not being much of a come from behind team in terms of a passing game, Oakland’s finale will be similar to 1999, when they took a 7-8 record into Arrowhead and bounced the Chiefs from the playoffs. Oakland’s 41-38 overtime win gave Seattle the AFC West title . . .

well lokks like kerry just fugged our season for good now. that fugger never saw a pick he didnt like to throw. oh well off to the game. later yall, will be back to biotch about the season and other sh!t later.

  • Thec07

we also need to see a dramatic improvement from dhb.

    +++++++++

Shul have bever been drafted by the raiders….Who have we ever developed? we need ready made guys who can step on the field an perform day one, not this lets give him 3 years to develop…Poor draft choice.

  • YoungAmerican

If Bush wants to stay knowing full well he’ll just be a role player, then fine. But if his salary gets in the way of signing a veteran WR or quality offensive line help in free agency, it will end up hurting this team.

Improve the blocking, improve the passing game (which the Raiders need to do anyway if they want to be competitive), and if Bush doesn’t stay draft an RB in the middle rounds.

  • armond

Plus, he is bald, always asking out of games and not well-conditioned, and has a titanium rod in his leg.

He is 27 going on 34.

dayum u the muhfugga mayne. hes bald, WTF?????

  • UCSBPreMedMike

Kerry Collins is horrible. Can’t believe he’s still haunting us. Pathetic performance vs KC.

  • TerrapinRaider

Listen guys, I never understood the arguments to get Bush more carries. Maybe schematic wise having both Bush and DMC on the field at the same time. But the reality is carries you give to Bush are carries you take away from DMC. And DMC is having a Pro-Bowl type year. His running is dynamic and you don’t give one guy carries at DMCs expense.

I just don’t get it. DMC is running like a crazed animal out there. And you all want Bush to get more carries. I just don’t get it. And I like Bush.

  • Thec07

you can get qualiy RB’s a dime a dozen…The new skill positions are trenchmen. A good trench makes up for everything else…Continue to build both sides of the ball with guys that can play, not projects…Or moving guys from one position to another…

we also need to see a dramatic improvement from dhb. that dude has killed what hopes we had for him and he better step it up next year. bush isnt an average back. he is much better than given credit for but i will say that dmc has made him look expendable but i wont take bush for granted. keep our most talented players and build upon that. naamdi is the only 1 i would consider cuz of his age and he might get us alot in return. we arent that far away but better coaching would get us there faster.

    ======================================================
Exactly! Bush is much better than people credit him for. Can run and catch. Played a big role in the two S.D games…..

People in here think the RAiders are actually good at finding talent on a TIMELY basis. Crazy! You keep your good players period…

DHB, I am kind of done with him

    Thec,

You keep good players…Wide Receiver is SUPPOSED to be an easy position to fill too…..Raiders haven’t had a decent receiver in almost a decade

  • raidermarty

kerry collins is worthless. titans are totally rolling over in this game.
    damn…….

  • Just Fire Baby

Bush is an average NFL RB.

He will generally back up a starter, and periodically have a good game. That’s what average NFL RB’s do.

Each year, about a dozen of these guys enter the league.

It will take 2 years max, to upgrade Michael Bush, and even if we do or don’t upgrade Michael Bush, it will do little to help the W-L position, because he is a BACKUP.

  • YoungAmerican

If the Raiders can’t draft well enough to replace a second-string running back, then they don’t belong competing for a division title anyway.

  • Thec07

DHB, I am kind of done with him

    +++++++++++

first round picks should be productive day 1…
He was a top 10 project…And no we should not give him time to develop, bottom line is he has under performed to date…

  • Plunketthead

This may be one reason DMAC does not get some carries.

Al/Cable want to keep DMAC “fresh” for the next 5 years.
They know we are a year to three for really being SB contenders and they dont want DMAC all busted up in the short term.

They may be playing chess instead of cheakers

  • YoungAmerican

WR is not “supposed to be” an easy position to fill. The learning curve from college to the pros is very steep. Not so with running backs.

  • SnB Production

Running back is supposed to be easy too…..like the receivers…took the Raiders damn near a decade to get a decent running back.

Without Bush, we will be a hamstring injury away from having Rock Cartwright toting the rock.

Then we will be in here talking about how we have to give the team a break because Rock was toting the Rock.

    You keep what you have.

Now if Bush comes in here asking for big money, then let him go…but if he can be re-signed you do it.

For too many years I hear people say the Raiders SHOULD be able to find this position and that position…only to be bitterly disappointed by the EXCUSES that flow come regular season.

    Keep what you have

  • Plunketthead

    SnB,

Aren’t you the one always talking about Raiders fans overrating their own players?

  • Thec07

    DJACK
    JMACKLIN
    KBRITT
    HNICKS
    PHARVIN
    The list goes on…

What was the learning curve for these guys????
Bottom line is DHB has vastly underperformed…

A first rd pick should walk on the field and be a starter..Period

  • MrBLACK

Where can I watch the game online?

  • J Hill

they had a solid game plan to start the year and for some stupid reason they went away from it. we just couldnt recover in time.

    ——————————————————

Seems like the 1st 4 or 5 games were extended pre season. HUGE impact on the season.

  • Thec07

You have a 4yh round picjk in JFORD out performing a 7th pick n the draft player in DHB…No way I can buy the development argument on him. He has underperformed, we he ake up for it, or is he capable of making up for it?

BS….Maclin, DeShaun Jackson, Hakeem Nicks, Johnny Knox, Kenny Britt, Mike Williams, Dez Bryant, Percy Harvin….and there are probably more that I am forgetting…but all those guys were solid contributors in 1st year and stars in 2nd

    Mid/late rounds RB prospects:

    Derrick Locke (Kentucky)
    Da’Rel Scott (Maryland)
    Emmanuel Moody (Florida)

  • SnB Production

Thec had my post covered earlier….agree with you 100% on the receivers.

And add Calvin Johnson to the list too.

Finding a receiver is probably the EASIEST.

Talk about the road to 7 wins

sHould be looking at using as many of those draft picks to fix the o-line, receiving corps and secondary

  • Just Fire Baby

DHB just isn’t very good, that’s the simple answer.

Not every talented guy from college can make that next step, from top 10 picks to 7th round picks.

Yeah, those guys are pretty good. Doesn’t change the fact that the learning curve is a lot steeper for WRs who have to learn how to run routes in offensive schemes that are in many cases dramatically different than what they ran in college.

Agreed…WR’s RB’s and TE’s all can be had on the very cheap…In my mind they should no longer be called skill players…

The TRUE skill is in the TRENCH….
    Great Trenchmen = Winning…

I have always liked Cutler. I wanted him instead of Huff, then CJ the next year.

He is an Al Davis QB bigtime and I am suprised he is not a Raider

    ====================================================
Oh yeah….big time….Bush is not a player being overrated though.

Stanford Routt, DHB, Carlisle, Huff….and others are certainly overrated….

I also said that if Bush is asking for too much money or someone plans to start him that the Raiders should let him go.

I also think many are overrating the Raider front-office ability to quickly replace talent and manage quality depth

  • YoungAmerican

Don’t like it when I hear about drafting for the offensive line this year. This isn’t a very good or deep draft class along the trenches. Drafting a lot of linemen this year would set this team back.

Lots of offensive linemen in free agency, though.

Before the game starts today, Janakowski should have to stand by the looker room door so the players can walk by and slap the sh!t out of him for missing that kick in Arizona!!!!!!!!!!!

We have no business taking developmental guys…

We need instant impact guys, no projects or reaches..

I wasn’t talking about DHB. DHB was a bad pick, straight-up.

I was talking about how getting a WR assimilated to the NFL is much harder than the process RBs go through.

  • alex7

Bush will set a career high for carries this year, a career low for yards per carry, and sucked two if the three games which he carried the load.

No one is itching to give him a fat starter contract, most good teams have 2 RBs sharing the load anyways.

  • UCSBPreMedMike

I think questionable techniques should never be drafted early like Russel and DHB.

With respect to Bush, he’s taking on the role similar to Crockett, just not with as good as an O-line.

1.Slap the whole team for not showing up against the weak TITANS AND THE 0-5 49ERS.

2.Slap Cable for starting Bruce Vs Miami and not having the team ready to play football after a bye week vs the steelers

3.Slap Jacoby ford..yes jacoby ford for the fumble against the jags…add the special teams to that list too.

4.Slap al Davis for not signing T.O

    Jeff Fisher should be released.

    Titans are absolute garbage

  • UCSBPreMedMike

Historically, Raiders haven’t been good at developing players. Nnamdi did it himself, because he said he didn’t like the criticism…plus the guy is pretty educated…and can play the piano pretty well! haha! (saw it on Raiders.com a couple years ago)

  • J Hill

DHB is not being used right. Yeah, he’ll drop a few passes each game but I think if he was thrown to around 8 times a game, we’d see at least 5 catches.

Should have a reverse or 2 each game!

  • UCSBPreMedMike

I can’t believe this is the same Tennesse team that stomped us in Week 1.

  • himmel42490

its our own damn fault. I am hating tennessee right now though. I think next year we will compete with the chiefs for 1st place. What a depressing day for Raider Nation.

  • UCSBPreMedMike

If Cable goes, I hope we only take on a veteran proven hard knocks coach. We’ve made too much progress to lose what we’ve gained this year-as inconsistent as we have been.

  • UCSBPreMedMike

Collins is garbage. I wonder who takes the fall for Ten collapse-Fisher or his mentally disabled QB’s?
