If Al can’t get Cam Newton’s name right, then he’s been totally oblivious to the college game and prospects, and the thought of him being in charge of a draft is pretty scarey.

If that’s the only mistake Al made, I wouldn’t worry too much. The man does very well for 81! Mistakes are made – but that certainly wasn’t the worst one. Several years ago, when Spurrier was coaching the Redskins, a reporter asked him about the progress of a player on the team who had been cut several days before. Spurrier said, “Yeah, that guy – he’s pretty good; he’s been working really hard and doing well” … he had no clue about one of HIS OWN PLAYERS! Don’t worry about Al – and don’t worry about Kim Newton – he’ll never be in the Sliver and Black, anyway!

Jeremy Bates could be the next OC too, I think Saunders was the guy, but with the news of Bates being let go, they may have taken a step back, to try and interview this guy. They can still bring in Saunders as an offensive consultant, or he could replace Lal as WR coach with maybe an Assistant HC title. Just conjecture on my part.

If the presser was any indication, it seems that Al was dropping heavy hints to Hue that Waufle should get promoted to D-coordinator (that’s how I read it, anyway).
