I’ve been a Raider fan since the early 70’s. And while I don’t always agree with Al Davis, the one thing that stood out to me after watching his press conference was his comment about Jamarcus Russell.
Like him or not, AD wants nothing more in life but to see his Raiders win. Which is why he invested what, $40 million in that big, stupid p.o.s. Jamarcus?
Jamarcus has set this team back, at least, 2 to 3 years, and I don’t think after watching that press conference, Al has that long. That waste of life Jamarcus should be donating some of that cash back to Al to help him pay for some of the FA’s he’s going to have to re-sign.
I just can’t imagine how you can let an old man invest all that money in you to try and achieve his last wish in life and then piss it away without giving a crap about doing anything but sitting on your big, lazy, fat ass! I know it won’t happen, but Jamarcus should be the next one Al takes to court.
I normally don’t feel bad for Al, but that just struck a nerve. Sorry for ranting.

Al always “Does the draft” But I think more of the success of the 2010 draft falls on Al listening to others who used more common sense that Al has in the past with draft picks. The 2010 draft seemed to focus more on players who could make an immediate impact. Not “Huge Potential” that Al usually falls in love with but that the coaches can never coach up to that potential.

So Al fired Cable? hmmm! I keep hearing this..

So did Al also cut Nnamdi?

Get real,if any of you thought Al would or should have paid Cable 5mil for goin 8 and 8 then maybe you should donate that dough! His contract had and option and Al chose not to pick it up? is that being fired? this was agreed on prior to being hired! Al already had a contengecy attack in Hue Jackson.Hmmm lets see?let Hue walk next year when his contract is up? or pay Cable 5 mil because “we are losers anymore”!

Same with Nnam we knew that contract was back loaded!Everybody said he paid to much but you have to discount the 17mil. Al never intended to pay that but he did drive up the market up so lets see if anyone else will give Nnam 17mil for one season! I think not….

Nnam still got paid nice for 2years and we agreed not to franchise him.Now Revis’ contract is the Bar and that is alot cheaper than 17mil a year.Now it just depends on if Nnam wants to stay or not and if he doesn’t then so be it.Again just something both sides agreed on prior to the signing of the contract.

That stuff about punching Randy Hanson, the assistant coach, happened summer before last, with the other charges of abuse coming soon after. So Al kept Cable around for two full seasons after all this? And then cites it as a primary reason for firing him? Sounds fishy to me.

I was thinking the same. If all Als claims are true he looks like a moron for keeping Cable around for 2 more years. There is no excuse for it.

Al cant win for losing in some eyes of the so called RaiderNation? So what should Al have done? fire another coach “for cause” in less than a few months?

As he said no one save Randy Hanson who was in the room really said how his Jaw got broken.

Then ex wifee and bun buns start claiming abuse!

These were not Al’s claims these were claims that others brought against The Raiders as Cable was the coach at the time “under contract”.

So Al should have fired him for Alegations?

Al’s claim was once the law suits started to come in that is when he decided to go after Cable’s pockets.
If that was the only reason? who knows? but who da f*ck cares? Not me!

More than butthurt. He just bashed Al the whole time and wondered why Al would rip Cable when he ripped the guy before that. He was like “Al knows who I am.” Al my not think about this guy for 1sec after the presser.

He was wrong in that Al doesn’t always rip coaches going out the door, just ones he doesn’t like.

AD was right in firing cable. cable had a lot of issues and was lucky to even get a head coaching job. the guy sucked.
