Three more days and I might be selected to be a fill in at the Pro Bowl. Every year, it’s the same deal. Outrage over which guys didn’t get picked and by the time the actual game rolls around, hot dog vendors are being pulled from the stands and told to suit up…

So that’s how Ray Lewis has been hanging in there these last 2 years. Deer Antler!

  8. GoodOle00 Says:

I’m not sure if it was the ZBS or McFadden’s injuries that kept our rushing numbers down under Cable but it sure seemd like Davis wanted “more beef” which is contrary to the ZBS’s more agile linemen.

DMC’s sucess may have been more in part him than the scheme.

    We’ll have to see

If DMAC takes himself seriously again this offseason, then we will be fine next year. If he gets lazy and gets back on that late nite fast food binge, then we are effed!

  12. aig-raiders Says:

As someone who is doing strength training, I am so tempted to try that stuff. Not sure if my bone can handle the extra strength though. Tempting for sure though. I can only imagine an athlete like Lewis getting up on age must be so dependent on this stuff.

  13. buckeyeraider Says:

    Congats to Zach Miller.

No, this wasn’t one of Zach’s better seasons. He seemed to drop more balls than I can ever remember. He also looked like he was struggling to maintain his blocks at times.

But, you have to rememember he was struggling through some painful injuries. Just gutting it out.

Besides, they say it usually takes one year past when you’re first deserving to make it. The word has to get out, if you will.

So, Congrats Zach. Represent the Silver and Black proudly, and oh yeah…sign an extension…would ya.

  20. inonewordraider Says:

Who’s a beter option than Hue? Remember Cable at the press conferences, I mean I’m not saying you have to be a rocket scientist to be a Head Coach but Hue seems more intelligent and just as fiery seems like a better recruiter of players plus the offensive numbers don’t lie. Oh and by the way he seems to have input in the coaching selection? Let’s go HUE!

  21. KoolKell Says:

The ZBS has worked in other places. But, Al Davis is not a ZBS guy, so they’re not on the same page from the get-go.

Just like De-Angelo Hall is not a man2man CB.

Crazy, counter-productive, distracting, craziness, year after year.

  22. DKnight007 Says:

The ZBS will not be completely scrapped.

Hue will run some ZBS schemes every now and then when he wants to change up blocking schemes when play calling.

You got to mix it up between counters, pulling, trapping power stuff and some zone.

  23. DKnight007 Says:

The next defensive coordinator needs to be solid choice will improve upon what was done this past year.

I think they will look at Winston Moss, and maybe even promote Mike Waufle.

What about Eric Mangini as a DC candidate?

  24. DKnight007 Says:

Congrats to Miller for finally being added to the Pro Bowl!

Al Davis, “we have a defense, IF WE CAN KEEP THEM TOGETHER, that’s coming of age”…

    Damn right Al!

  30. DKnight007 Says:

Winston Moss is also the Assistant Head Coach to McCarthy.

I think him being hired as DC/Assistant Head Coach would work.

If he was hired, Moss would most certainly add in some more 3-4 looks to the defense.

  31. Just Win Baby Says:

now I ma going to buy some S.W.A.T.S liposomal deer antler velvet spray. It’s only 68 bucks for a small bottle. Thanks Hue Jackson and Yahoo! for bringing me this product.

  32. Just Win Baby Says:

Anybody know anything about this IGF-1 (insulin like growth factor 1). I know its a protien found in deer antler velvet that speeds up tissue regeneration. Will it still give you bacne and man boobs? The spray is supposed to be the best delivery method (sans needles).

  33. 860Todd Christensen Says:

Looks like Hue’s pic is a deer in the headlights, no wonder he got out of it. It’s all downhill from here, Hue, enjoy the ride, and your 15 seconds of fame are the most you will see from AD! But hey, at least you were on stage with him. Way to go Hue!

  34. Dakota Says:

Tom Cable just finished his radio interview. He apologized to Darren McFadden for underutilizing him in favor of his lover Justin Fargas, and then apologized to Al Davis for being such a loser head coach. Then he sang a song:

To all the girls I’ve slapped on the road before

Who travelled right on through my door

I’m glad they came along, I dedicate this song

To all the girls I’ve slapped on the road before

To all the girls I have once harassed

And may I say I’ve beat the best

For helping me on the road, I owe a lot I know

To all the girls I’ve slapped on the road before!

  35. Just Win Baby Says:

Will it make me dance like Ray Lewis? Is that a roid rage thing?

  36. M Lonetree Says:

And so the NFL tells Hue to disassociate himself from deer antler velvet, while deer antler velvet is a component of Ex-tenz, hawked endlessly by Jimmy Johnson of the NFL’s most popular pre-game broadcast.
Hypocrisy must not be just a state of mind, must be an entire continent.

  37. 860Todd Christensen Says:

Vegas, that’s the Antler Essence thingy, try some!

  38. SaintKaufman Says:

Huggy Jr. needs to give Cable a hug!

    LOL D.!

  39. M Lonetree Says:

    M…Priceless!

  41. Dakota Says:

    lol….good one M.

  42. TerrapinRaider Says:

I think Saunders is in and this offense will be lights out next year. I am more worried about who we get on defense.

Hue will have these boys energized for sure. His attitude will permeate throughout that whole team (and organization). It may take 2 years to really see it through fruition but you will surely see a different and improved product on the field overall insofar as preperation and attitude/emotions on the field.

Skys looking up. Only thing that can possibly set him back is stumbling out the gate; but I just don’t think that will happen if we sign most of our very good/great players over again.

  43. TerrapinRaider Says:

Man, I can sense it. WE are going to have an extremely confident team almost to the point of arrogance! They are going to push you in the mouth and show no mercy. That’s Hue’s attitude! Thats what he wants to build: A BULLY!

  44. SammyTheBull Says:

Does ANYONE doubt, for a second, that every even half way decent established HC will avoid theRaiders like the plague?

I mean, Al brings up that his coach has a fling on the side?
and he publicizes that, to all?

for no other reason than to be a vindictive ahole?

Kiffin was one thing, with the overhead. That alone turned off the droves.
After yesterday Al has officially burned every last bridge.

and some of you are so stupid that you actually still have tossed out names, like Gruden, and Cowher, etc?
    Wise up

  45. KoolKell Says:

Best wishes to Hue. Davis will find a way to F it up, though.

Hue is a good hire for the Raiders, now we need a good OC, DC, and ST coach.

An upgrade @ QB will also be needed to win a Super Bowl

Just like last year, we must sign our won FA’s before looking elsewhere, unless a QB is ripe for the picking.

  52. SammyTheBull Says:

    oh stop terrapin.
    Hue was there all year.

not sure that he sued callahan or shell, but he sure as hell threw them under the bus

  55. edward teach Says:

Dave McGinnis is the assistant head coach/linebackers coach for the Titans. He’s been there since 2004, has also been the defensive coordinator and head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. He was the linebackers coach for the Bears from ‘86 through ‘95 (Singletary, Wilbur Marshall, Otis Wilson). Coached Singletary for seven of his twelve NFL seasons.

Titans are predominately 4-3 defensive team.

Don’t know if he could be pried away from Tennessee, but he’s a pretty good coach.

  56. antispy3 Says:

Al was encountering resistance from the league in court; now he picks on coaches. Undefeated! Domination!

The coach must go down & he must go down hard!

  57. Hunt Eat Raiders Says:

  58. TerrapinRaider Says:

WTF are you talking about? Hue never told Grads he was the best nor Campbell. You’re full of sht. Point your bitterness for firing that wife beater elsewhere.

That offense went from bottom of the pack to near the top in one freakin’ year. If you can’t see that turnaround or simple production under Hue then you have no hope. They can’t even prescribe glasses for your stitched up eyes.

  61. edward teach Says:

    Kell,

You can have more than one assistant head coach. The Titans have two; Heimerdinger (OC) and McGinnis.

  62. buckeyeraider Says:

    Kell,
I don’t believe Davis has sued anybody. He might have feuded with 4 of his last 5 coaches over money.

Kiffin and now Cable…and maybe Shannahan before them have filed grievences against Davis for money they claimed they were owed.

But I don’t think he has sued or taken action against anyone, except JaMarcus Russell.

And if I’m not mistaken Davis has always won in these disputes. Except maybe in the court of public opinion.

  63. KoolKell Says:

    Ok, didn’t know that, Ed.

  64. Hunt Eat Raiders Says:

My point exactly sammy. Than you.

  65. KoolKell Says:

    Cable, Kiffin for sure, Gruden?

  66. TerrapinRaider Says:

Hue’s impact on this team is going to be no less than Rex Ryan’s impact when he took over the Jets. That’s my proclamation.

(Heck you already saw it when he only had half the team).

  67. phatcable Says:

The tenure of Raiders head coach Hue Jackson lasted exactly one day before his first minidrama hit.

Eric Adelson of ThePostGame.com (run by Yahoo! Sports) reports that the NFL ordered Jackson to cut promotional ties with a supplement company called S.W.A.T.S. (That’s short for Sports With Alternatives To Steroids.)

  68. edward teach Says:

And if you’re Jerry Jones you can even have a “coach-in-waiting.”

Which I suppose Hue Jackson was after all, without the fancy title.
