Bush, Miller get highest tenders

If the next collective bargaining agreement makes four-year players restricted free agents, the Raiders are on safe ground with running back Michael Bush and tight end Zach Miller.

Bush received a first- and third-round tender, according to source familiar with the situation. Miller also was tendered, and it is also believed to be at a first- and third-round level.

Last year’s first and third figure for a four-year veteran was $3,168,000, which could go up in 2011. Any team wishing to sign either player would have to surrender first- and third-round picks, which essentially put them off limits.

Last year, the Raiders gave Stanford Routt, who like Bush was an occasional starter, a first- and third-round tender which paid him $3,268,000 as a five-year veteran.

If Bush and Miller received tenders, it’s safe to assume others received them as well.

The tenders are insurance at this point until a CBA is reached.
