Bennett, Loper back in fold

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer

The Raiders reached deals on contracts with running back Michael Bennett and guard/tackle Daniel Loper, according to the National Football Post, which cited NFLPA records.

Bennett’s signing means the Raiders plan on having their entire contingent of running backs returning in 2011.

Darren McFadden remains under contract, and Oakland re-signed both Rock Cartwright and Bennett. the Raiders also placed a first- and third-round tender on Michael Bush, an indication they have every intention of returning him to the roster.

Oakland also brought back Louis Rankin in the offeason, so it would appear the chances of the Raiders looking at a running back in the draft or taking a flyer on a Tiki Barber comeback would be minimal.

Loper is a reserve lineman who started weeks 2 through 5 when at left guard when Robert Gallery was out due to injury.

I like the resigning of Mr. Loper, gives the Raiders options at the draft, makes them less predictable for he 2nd & 3rd round selections.
