He has moved to short-term deals with higher per-year salaries rather than long-term deals with lower per-year salaries. When he said he was going to change his ways from those Javon Walker and MeAngelo Hall deals, he wasn't lying. He will always shell out cash for players, but it looks like they just won't be ridiculous looking long-term deals. It seems like this has become Al’s strategy for contracts. I like the resigning of Mr. Loper, gives the Raiders options at the draft, makes them less predictable for their 2nd & 3rd round selections.
