Interesting set of responses when you consider the fact that the 35 is where this league used to kick off from. You know? When the game was supposedly tougher? When the Raiders won three Super Bowls? I don’t think it’s going to “sissify” the game any. If anything, the elimination of head starts and wedges can ultimately increase the chances of something spectacular happening because you won’t have to dedicate a group of wedge busters and you can concentrate on the cat with the rock.

Now KK, you know Coach Davis invented the NFL and built the stadiums with some of the other owners so guys like OchoOcho would haves seats for the ‘butts’ to come and watch them play. If it wasn’t for Coach Davis, nobody would be able to watch these players play because they would have nowhere to sit.

Raider Rockstar:
NFL players should just suck it up or take a job selling cars or bagging groceries. You’re playing a game, a sport, for a living. The economy stinks right now. If the max an NFL player could earn was $1 million per season (for say a 5 year vet and annual Pro Bowler) they’d still be better off than the majority of America and there wouldn’t be any shortage of talented athletes willing to accept that kind of money!

just don’t know how to say this… other than this is not how capitalism and our economy works. People with specialized skills sets that make companies money get more money than the rest of the labor force.

It does not matter what you think about Wall street Bankers, actors, pro athletes, and other entertainers and how insignificant their contributions to scoiety is, the bottom line is they make money because they can make people or companies big bags of dough. Same thing goes for Attorneys, and doctors.

NFL players make owners a lot of money; thus, they are in demand. Teams will pay big $ to acquire the talent it takes to win.

I don’t care what football players make because they generally earned it.

What I don’t care for is people saying the players are greedy when the owners are asking them to take a pay cut. More importantly the owners won’t open their books so their claims can be justified. Imagine if you invested stock in a company and they didn’t divulge their earnings statement. Literally, they cannot cuz it’s illegal.

Huff is talking on Twitter like he really wants to be a Raider next season.

Especially if the Raiders aren’t bringing Nnamdi back, they should bring Huff back into the fold.

There are enough holes to fill on this team as it is without worrying about who is going to fill the single deep safety role.

The one rule I would have loved to see them fix, which the competition committee declined to, is the ridiculous completed catch ruling. The “Calvin Johnson” rule…or to Raider fans Louis Murphy.

That rule is poorly written and interpreted, much like the “tuck rule”. Neither pass the 100 guys in a bar test.

If 90 out of 100 knowledgable football fans in a bar think it’s a TD catch, but NFL rules say no, technically it’s not, then it defies common sense and is a bad rule.

That they let that crap stand bothers me more than the new kickoff rules.

Like I said…..making changes to rules that don’t need to be changed and then avoiding making changes to the rules that do need to change?
