Players remain away from facility

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 at 11:12 am in Oakland Raiders.

There was no sign of any Raiders players between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. today, just a light stream of administrative employees and scouts arriving to prepare for the draft.

Considering word had probably gotten out through various Twitter posts and text messages that teams were not opening their weight rooms, there was no reason to arrive other than to establish attendance with regard to a workout bonus.

A pretty boring way to spend two hours, but at least it was a nice day . . .

What is the chance that Al makes a move in the very short time this lockout is over? He can be creative at times.

Looks like the 49ers are putting together a good Front Office.

He’s going to work for the San Francisco 49ers. As the team’s chief strategy officer.

Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News has obtained the internal e-mail from owner Jed York announcing the hire: “As our Chief Strategy Officer, Gideon will work closely with me to maximize our strategic and business prospects and in the future, lead us in our development of new businesses and revenue streams. In the near term, he will work closely with Larry and Patty on our Santa Clara stadium project, handling several key elements of the stadium financing plan to make sure we are ready for construction in 2013.”

The Silver & Black will be trading down in the 2nd or 3rd round – watch for it!

    ^^^^^^^
The best spot to trade down and get more picks is in the 2nd Round usually. The Raiders did it last year and it worked to perfection and they got Houston.
They also did it when they traded down in Round 2 when they drafted Zach Miller.

Just depends on who is there for them in Round 2 and who is not there for them to trade down.
