13. Detroit: Fairley; 14. St. Louis: Quinn; 15. Miami: Pouncey; 16. Washington: Kerrigan

Thursday, April 28th, 2011 at 6:44 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Hard to dispute the Lions pairing Auburn’s Nick Fairley with Ndamukong Suh at defensive tackle.
With Suh picking up most of the double teams, there is a real chance for Fairley to shine.
Do I get partial credit on defensive end Robert Quinn of North Carolina since I had them taking Da’Quan Bowers (Clemson), a defensive end?
Courtesy of beat writer Steve Corkran with regard to Miami’s selection of Florida center/guard Mike Pouncey: “It took a mid-first round pick, but the Dolphins finally found a replacement for Samson Satele.”
Yes, Pouncey will probably play guard, but it’s a good line so I’ll use it anyway.
The draft hits its halfway point with the Redskins taking Purdue defensive end Ryan Kerrigan. Most surprising player left out of first round is probably Nebraska corner Prince Amukamara.
Quarterbacks taken in first half of first round: Cam Newton (1-Carolina); Jake Locker (8-Tennessee); Blane Gabbert (10-Washington) and Christian Ponder (12-Minnesota).
Hoping for the next 16: Ryan Mallett (Arkansas), Andy Dalton (TCU), Colin Kaepernick (Nevada).

I bet Davis could have made that same type of trade in ‘09 and STILL took DHB!!
April 28th, 2011 at 6:46 pm
The Cleveland-Atlanta trade that is…
April 28th, 2011 at 6:46 pm
dos!

April 28th, 2011 at 6:47 pm
TRADE!
Al Davis for a winning season!
April 28th, 2011 at 6:48 pm
What did Jax give up to move 6 spots?
April 28th, 2011 at 6:49 pm
Well the Chargers will take Cameron Jordan
April 28th, 2011 at 6:49 pm
All things being equal, I’d rather have Seymour than Solder. Good trade.
April 28th, 2011 at 6:50 pm
Jax gave their 2nd this year
April 28th, 2011 at 6:50 pm
Pats? Huh? Thank Pats for not picking Ingram. We’d be haunted by that forever.
April 28th, 2011 at 6:51 pm
We could have had Nate Solder instead of Richard Seymour!!
April 28th, 2011 at 6:51 pm
Rex Ryan’s D put the fear in the hoody.

I think they gave up the 49th pick to move up.
April 28th, 2011 at 6:52 pm
Considering the options that would have been here for the Raiders, I like the Seymour trade.
The only guys who would have made sense there would have been Amukamara and Carimi.
April 28th, 2011 at 6:52 pm
Surprising pick… D+ grade. Al Davis looks a little smarter
April 28th, 2011 at 6:52 pm
I wonder how Gary Peterson feels about his stupid article on the Seymour trade now.
April 28th, 2011 at 6:52 pm
Amukamara and Bowers slipping
April 28th, 2011 at 6:53 pm
I’m not a big Nate Solder fan, but if anyone can turn him into a good player, Belichick can.
April 28th, 2011 at 6:54 pm
schytt, the Chargers got alot of good players to choose from. We know they need a DT and DE. Daquan Bowers?
April 28th, 2011 at 6:54 pm
Seymour was just a 1st round pick chosen 2yrs in advance.
April 28th, 2011 at 6:54 pm
Castonzo or Carimi would have been better for NE…
April 28th, 2011 at 6:54 pm
We got what we needed and now we’re ahead of schedule

What did Atlanta give to swap with the Browns?
2 first rounders (2011 and 12)
1 second rounder (2012)
2 fourth rounders(2011 and 12)
*********
I’m not watching so I have no idea who the commentators are, but, did they rip Atlanta a new one for that trade? That is ridiculous! A good pick for atlanta but WAAAAAY too costly.

April 28th, 2011 at 6:55 pm
LMN,
Correct….my bad.
April 28th, 2011 at 6:56 pm
Who?
April 28th, 2011 at 6:56 pm
Thank god the Chargers picked a guy who doesn’t fit their scheme.
April 28th, 2011 at 6:57 pm
Chargers and Denver both picked guys who are questionable scheme fits. Nice.
April 28th, 2011 at 6:57 pm
Dakota…
which makes it worse, because next year they will be enven further down the draft, than the 27 and 59 they have this year…
April 28th, 2011 at 6:57 pm
Amukamara? Cameron Jordan? Bowers? pretty good talent on board
April 28th, 2011 at 6:58 pm
Dakota..
btw ‘It’ being the trade they did =)
April 28th, 2011 at 6:58 pm
He doesnt look like Jamaal Williams,
April 28th, 2011 at 6:59 pm
Denver and SD were both picks to neutralize both Bush and McFadden.
April 28th, 2011 at 7:00 pm
Lakers about to finish this!
April 28th, 2011 at 7:00 pm
Costanzo or Carimi to Giants.
April 28th, 2011 at 7:01 pm
Those are some big lips on Prince.
April 28th, 2011 at 7:01 pm
Prince to Giants
April 28th, 2011 at 7:03 pm
NE is trading out of their second pick on this round. Raiders will move up, watch. And take either Jimmy Smith or Kapernick.
April 28th, 2011 at 7:03 pm
Good Pick
April 28th, 2011 at 7:04 pm
Not Jimmy Smith, please.
April 28th, 2011 at 7:04 pm
Orlando just lost the the Hawks….pretty much guarantees Howard will be a Laker very soon.
April 28th, 2011 at 7:05 pm
Costanzo or Carimi to Chiefs???
April 28th, 2011 at 7:06 pm
Who’s the fastest CB or WR left on the board now?

The entire tribe is up there with Prince……LOL
April 28th, 2011 at 7:09 pm
would this work.. gasol traded for howard and plays pf..or if this trade happen will it have to be a straight up bynum for howard?
April 28th, 2011 at 7:09 pm
Castonzo going to Indy i think
April 28th, 2011 at 7:10 pm
The fastest player in the draft is a CB. Van Dyke
April 28th, 2011 at 7:10 pm
Ingram to Indy!
April 28th, 2011 at 7:11 pm
Jimmy Smith’s dealer is reporting that John Herrera paged him and then asked him to pick up some KFC Slaw on the way to the facility tomorrow because the Raiders are trading next year’s #1 and the rest of this draft to move up to pick him.
April 28th, 2011 at 7:11 pm
Chiefs will go OL.
April 28th, 2011 at 7:12 pm
Bowers and Jordan would be better than Clayborn in my opinion
April 28th, 2011 at 7:12 pm
Very nice pick for TB I think…
April 28th, 2011 at 7:13 pm
I think Indy will get Ingram too.
What good tackles are left, how about Gs?
April 28th, 2011 at 7:13 pm
Johm Herrera is a joke. I remember when he attacked kawaki he had to pull up his pants like 3 times. COME ON MR Davis buy yo boy a belt!
April 28th, 2011 at 7:14 pm
Wonder if KC goes with Phil Taylor here, or if it’ll be Castonzo or Carimi.
April 28th, 2011 at 7:15 pm
Only 3 OL gone so far. 2 OT & 1 G/C
April 28th, 2011 at 7:16 pm
Chiefs have to go OL here after they got destroyed in the finale.
April 28th, 2011 at 7:17 pm
Im with Gruden, I think Chefs go WR. Biggest need for their team.
