The Falcons are apparently under the impression that Alabama wide receiver Julio Jones is the next Jerry Rice.
There’s no other way to explain why they’d give up their own pick, No. 27, a second round pick, and first and fourth-round picks next season. Maybe they think there won’t be a draft next year.
Bringing Jones in to team with Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez is a fine idea, but keep in mind the Falcons are a run-first team. Or used to be.
Arizona passing on Blaine Gabbert presents the 49ers with a dilemma. Is this the guy Jim Harbaugh really wants? Von Miller and Patrick Peterson are off the board, the two defenders most commonly associated with San Francisco.
With the NFL currently in a state of wild, wild west in terms of rules and regulations, perhaps Harbaugh can tell Trent Baalke to draft Andrew Luck and the 49ers can take their chances in court.
