Raider rumor mill whirling

Profootballtalk.com checked in this morning with an item that Nevada quarterback Colin Kaepernick is the first quarterback on the Raiders’ draft board.
Former Raiders’ exec Mike Lombardi is convinced Al Davis has zeroed in on Colorado cornerback Jimmy Smith.
More to come, to be sure, so why is it I suspect the Raiders won’t be able to trade into the first round because the asking price will be too high?
Media starting to trickle in to the facility for what could be a long evening of nothing if Oakland doesn’t trade swing a deal to get into Round 1.

Stabler. Favre. Namath. Jim McMahon. All were reputed trouble makers when younger, all won Super Bowls. All you have on Cam Newton is a stolen lap top, something I could see any of the above doing in their college days, assuming laptops even existed then. Then you start going into Cam’s personality and talking about how you grew up with people like him. I don’t even know what that means. But if your’e saying he’s a thug disguised as a party animal, I’d have to assume he would have done worse things than stolen a lap top at this point.

get our qb 1st. all we have to do is trade 1st in 2012 and a late pick 5th or 6th to a team in the mid to late 20s
then worry about other positions.

McClain was a rookie MLB and still doesnt have a real starting NT in front of him. The first half of season he looked lost but as year went on he played better. We drafted a football player last year versus the usual speed demon

I don’t hate McClain, he is just nothing special. McClain doesn’t have “it”. He might become a solid MLB someday, but right now he is closer to Nap Harris than he is to Ray Lewis. Slow decision making and trouble shedding blocks.
We would be VERY lucky if he becomes the next Biekert.

cannon wil be great value late in the draft. ironically the knock on him was his weight. The chemo will take some weight off of him. If he can recover and build up his strength with out adding all that weight back he could be a steal. Take him in rd 6 and give him the bruce campbell scholarship.
