It’s a solid draft so fareveryone wanted Oline now that you have it you’re all complaining. Van Dyke is a solid pick he’s very similar to Routt just more aggressive a lot of yhou thought Routt would never make it.

----------------------------------
Father Pride & Poise you are unabashedly obfuscating again to cover ("cover", get it??)for this absurd pick. Van Dyke is not aggressive, he's strictly finesse. But Al will coach him up, won't he?

re: Kaepernick: btw did anyone else notice that Denver & SF worked that trade to keep the Raiders from drafting him.
---

Maybe cuz they think with Campbell starting, they don't have to worry about the Raiders being a real threat, or they know Oakland is just a good QB away from being a legitimate SB contender.

Van Dyke = JLH
An undersized athlete that eventually gets blown-up by the big kids and never recovers. If AD wanted a fast CB then he should just convert DHB to a cornerback. He's got the size, speed and should know the routes by now. An additional bonus, balls aimed in his direction usually hit the ground. What more can you ask in a CB?

Richard Van Dyke;

Strengths: Graceful; can move around objects such as ottomans while having the sense of humor to say "whoops, I almost tripped", can make cars fly, nice smile, great attitude, appears to love life.

Weaknesses: Age-he's over 80 now and no one has been able to document whether he has EVER played football or that he ever had any interest in the game whatsoever. Comedy can be perceived as "syrupy" at times.

Summary: "Dick" is a stretch. One of Al Davis's strangest picks.

Here's the deal on Barksdale:

He came to LSU as a Parade All-American DT from Detroit Michigan. Dude came here when LSU was stockpiled at DT and DE (Glenn Dorsey, Tyson Jackson, Drake Nevis, etc). One day in practice, Les Miles pulled him from defensive drills because he was just standing there not getting reps and Ciron Black was getting his a$$ whipped by Jackson. Barksdale trots over and lines up and the QB goes untouched for the rest of practice. They thought it was a fluke so they tried it all week and ended with the same result. Barksdale never saw another defensive drill again.
