San Diego may have an opening if they can’t resign Sproles

    ***

SD has Ryan Mathews, Mike Tolbert & Curtis Brinkley.

plus they just drafted Jordan Todman

Why would they give a crap about Darren Sproles ???

  • guest123

Chargers GM AJ Smith gets some heat for “reaching” in the 2nd round of the draft for Jona Mouton. This is funny because, well his response is taken like he’s a maverick and just smarter than everyone else. If Al says something like this, they go “good ole crazy Al”

    :)

    _____________

“I’m told I can’t find one person who thought the linebacker [Michigan's Jonas Mouton] we took in the second round … wasn’t a fifth- or sixth-round guy. Well, I’ve found one guy. Me. He’s a second rounder here.”

-San Diego general manager A.J. Smith, to Nick Canepa of the San Diego Union Tribune.

    Guest123,

if SD wants a weakling at RB they can trade us a bag of tortilla chips for Michael Bennett or Louis Rankin …

    Good Morning Raider Nation!!

  • guest123

Why would they give a crap about Darren Sproles ???

You have to admit, very similar type backs. I mean if they still value that type of COP back.

  • The Blackhole

    Hello everybody

  • guest123

Good afternoon R8eray. At least here. Morning to you.

  • RaiderRockstar

they still value that type of COP back.

the Raiders have McFadden who will punch you in the mouth (when he’s healthy), Bush who will carry you or run you over and now Jones … who is probably more of an elusive speedster like Jamaal Charles

  • guest123

    from jets board…not looking good…

    From Albert Breer:

    Quote:
Sources: NFLPA is bracing for the NFL to be granted a full stay of the injunction to lift NFL lockout until the appeal is heard.

    Quote:
Have heard the rumblings all morning. What full stay would mean: The lockout is on until 8th circuit hears case on June 3, rules thereafter.

    Quote:
Full stay would, in essence, eliminate offseason programs for ’11. Generally those wrap in mid-June, which is earliest we could get ruling.

    Quote:
@ECpackers We have to wait for official ruling 1st. 8th circuit could pull a shocker. Barring that: OTAs/minicamps gone; FA/trades delayed.

Plus, for what it’s worth, from Ochocinco:

    Quote:
#OCNN Unfortunately a union source expects that the stay will be granted today n that the lockout will now continue 4 at least several weeks

    Quote:
#OCNN Our awesome owners will take the short term pain of an extended lockout, for the long term they’ll gain a favorable CBA. #Beinghonest

    Quote:
I’ve maintained n optimistic outlook throughout the lockout, based on today’s expected developments we will be out at least another month

Love our RB situation, near and long term. A real position of strength. We can move Bush for value if push comes to shove. TJ is going to be a dynamic back when he gets his feet up under him. He needs to season, but his potential is very high.

  • Dr. Hunter S. Thompson

MR is back on his MEDS.

    Good job, MR.

  • RaiderRockstar

does anybody know if Mike Bush ever signed his RFA tender?

or Samson Satele for that matter?

that’s the difference between being thin at RB & C or strong imo

I like Taiwan’s potential, but he’s still not a lock to produce equal to big Mike if/when DMAC gets banged up again. too bad Rock Cartwright is our special teams captain, because even though I love him on ST, I’d much rather keep Rankin as the 4th RB on the roster

  • guest123

I don’t think Bush is signed. But it’s highly unlikely he will sign elsewhere with a first and third tender.

  • http://www.raiders.com/ r8eray

Technically, Chad Ochocinco broke the news, citing a union source. What we don’t like about the report is that free agency and trades would be delayed for at least a month. What we do like is that it would give the sides a chance to head back to the mediation table to try to hammer out a new CBA. A stay would wipe out all offseason programs, keeping the doors locked until at least mid-June, if not July or August.

  • guest123

I tell you what, mini-camps, OTA’s, even training camp as we know it is gone man. just gone.

If they do have a season, it will be a shortened one.

Teams are going to scramble to assemble a roster.

Expect the quality of play to be sloppy, more injuries, etc.

    :(

ya albert breer is not painting a pretty picture for the ruling and i just don’t get it. the sides would want to hammer out a deal either way and all a stay does is rob the players and fans of football.

also being a raider fan, teams that are in transition and in need of help are the ones that hurt the most from no workouts and free agency. in other words another year of steelers, packers, colts, patriots super bowls with little playoff changes.

r8eray, I missed what Bush posted on twitter, can you “re-tweet” please.

And if possible do you have a link to the source that is claiming Brees is holding OTA’s?

I think that is highly illegal.

I asked Jerry a leading question in his chat to this same issue. He’s confident that not much will change in the playbook for the Raiders, so we should be ok. At least Jerry is optimistic.

Drew Brees working them HARD…I think I heard Deuce McAllister is helping with the training!

    thanks for the link R8eray.

  • irjonny

another thing to note is that brandon myers said that not much has been going on in the case of team workouts for the raiders. to be fair, if the lockout persists and the raiders aren’t ready for 2011 it’s really their own fault unless they get it together

  • http://www.raiders.com/ r8eray

    @michaelbush29 Michael Bush
I dont care about da saints workin out people please stop sending me that da raider players are taking care of business as well n other ways

So in other words…he’s telling us “everything is under control…we got this!”

I sure hope so…after watching highlights on the Saints OTA’s by the Players (Drew Brees) they were workin it!

  • guest123

I think the NFLPA investigate and sue Brees for purposely circumventing the intent of the lockout. It gives the Saints an unfair head start on the rest of the league. This type of training on unfair footing and non-sanctioned rules has the potential for a number of civil lawsuits, especially for players who could potentially get hurt and are not under contract.

So assuming the 2010 rules apply and that above list of FAs is correct, it cuts down the Raiders’ options dramatically. Best bet might be to aggressively go after UDFAs for at least some kind of O-line depth, even if they just end up being practice squad options.

    UDFA targets:

    OT/OG Byron Bell
    OT/OG David Mims
    DT/NT Ian Williams
    DE/DT Brandon Bair
    DE/DT Cedric Thornton
    QB Pat Devlin
    QB Josh Portis
    S Mana Silva
    S Joe Lefeged
    S Deunta Williams
    WR Ricardo Lockette
    FB Henry Hynoski

    FA targets:

    OT Jammal Brown
    OG Reggie Wells
    DE Dave Ball
    WR Santana Moss

I’d like to see Wells or Brown in FA, and Mims/Bell, Silva/Lefeged, Bair/Thornton, Portis/Devlin, and Williams as UDFAs.

  • http://www.jerryisatwit.com MistaBrown

M Bush is full of horse bleep. They aren’t doing anything but riding around their respective towns getting arrested and goofing off. I’m not passing judgment I would be doing the same thing just stating the obvious.

  • http://www.jerryisatwit.com MistaBrown

So we shot OBL in the melon and his wife in the leg and his brother is dead? Where is his wife? Where is his brother?

We collected all sorts of intel from his PC, DVD’s, Documents, thumb drives…..and that didn’t lead to NOT 1 arrest or raid ???????

Where is D Trump to get to the bottom of things?

  • guest123

I am sure that Saints ownership can’t be pleased. What if Brees or someone else gets hurt during these rouge minicamps? Who is responsible? How does it affects guaranteed contracts? Can they be voided? Do they have the necessary training staff, safeguards, strength and conditioning people?

So assuming the 2010 rules apply…..

    __________

I think that’s about the furthest assumption that you can assume right now. FA is dead for 2 1/2 months.

  • DutchRaider77

Think Matt Light would be a good signing? Veldheer to RT or Light to RT? Of course the Raiders would have to overpay.

Also I could see a Plaxico signing, but could not see Plaxico signing with Raiders for vet minimum. Could see him signing with other organizations for vet min, just not us.

  • http://www.jerryisatwit.com MistaBrown

    Hey Guest,
Who gives a rats a$$ what the Saints are doing? We have our own problems starting with the GM on down.

You guys are like chics in a nail salon gossiping about this & that. F the Saints!

All the more reason that they won’t have time to come up with new rules once the league year begins.

It’s hard to believe this lockout has gotten so out of hand. The league seems to be doing all it can to kill the f*** out of that golden goose…

Who cares if we ever see a body. What matters is AQ believes it. As long as they don’t have a rebuttal of OBL’s death and can prove it, AQ dies away. RIP AQ…naw check that Rest in Agony AQ.

Looking for more ways to get his name in the press and promote his brand.

He didn’t fair to well the last time he tried to play conspiracy theory with the American public so maybe his head is buried in the sand….no that would mess up his hair….

  • guest123

    Couldn’t agree more YA

  • http://www.jerryisatwit.com MistaBrown

Actually trump was 100% successful getting the sitting pres of the US to cough up his birth cert.

The press was unwilling to get it so Trump took care of business. Lets see that losers grades next. Im guessing C avg for purp lips…

  • Silverandblack666

Actually trump was 100% successful…in distracting us from rising gas prices, a balanced budget, unemployment and other real life issues to stroke his own ego and get his name in the press.

Meanwhile the president was plotting the death of OBL.

Trumps priorities are himself and if you believe anything different you are about as smart as a box of rocks!
