Remember when Jamarcus Russell was “allowed” to play in the first weekend minicamp before getting cut? The Raiders essentially risked $6.5 million that Russell wouldn’t twist his knee and score some big money.

The rules of compensation under CBA protect both the player and the owner. In this case, the owner risked big and got away with it. In Brees case, he’s playing outside of contract parameters, but also subjecting his teammates to similar risk under less than agreed upon ideal NFL conditions.

KK, how many homes did you sell this year?

Hope & Change put a nice fat dent in the market eh? Forecloser’s are up you should write up loans or is that above your pay grade ?

  • YoungAmerican

Would love to see Santonio Holmes, Vincent Jackson, or even Braylon Edwards, but with the young guys already on the roster it’s just not going to happen. Plus Edwards is likely to be retained by the Jets, and Holmes and Jackson will likely require a trade that the Raiders don’t have ammunition for.

Whatever vet comes here (it’s unlikely that one will get signed anyway), he’ll have to be happy with very limited playing time (read: not Ochocinco). Ford, Murphy, and Moore will get the bulk of the work. DHB will get playing time because he’s DHB. Chaz will play if he’s healthy.

I say Santana Moss is the most logical option because he has extensive experience with Al Saunders and Jason Campbell. If he’s just going to see a few snaps here and there (if he even makes it out of whatever is left of training camp by then), his main role will be a teacher to the young guys on the roster.

The Prez is too classy to release photos. The birthers would only claim it was doctored anyway.

  • Silverandblack666

If all you have on the President is that he was a mediocre college student then you will lose big in 2012.

The GOP needs to get their act together if they plan on competing at all in 2012.

Right now Vegas has Hilliary Clinton at better odds of winning the presidential election in 2012 than any republican and we all know she is not even going to run….time to faced the facts and stop the distractions teabaggers.

  • big oak boy

so dose anyone know what was said about the stay on the lockout

  • guest123

Last I heard is Edwards is as good as gone in NY. I’d be open to Ocho coming here as well. We need some established talented WR’s.

  • http://www.jerryisatwit.com MistaBrown

    KK,

“CIA Director Leon Panetta said Tuesday that the 0bomma administration will “ultimately” release a photo showing the body of Us@ma bin Laden”

Pres purp lips cant even get on the same page as his CIA cheif, funny that and so much for class when he does, yah?

When’s the last time you’ve eaten anything other than pork n’ beans?

  • http://www.jerryisatwit.com MistaBrown

KK, arent you libtards against waterboarding, including pres purp lips? Funny that!

In the interview, Panetta also admitted it was likely that intelligence gleaned from so-called “enhanced interrogation techniques” — including waterboarding

  • http://www.jerryisatwit.com MistaBrown

We should waterboard the pres and make him cough up his college transcripts. We cant have a flunky marxist in the WH, right KK ?

  • Gust372

Torture could have played a role, but I think having a president whose trusted and liked abroad, far more than Bush, McCain, or Pa lin, played a role, too. And, that’s at least legal!

  • Silverandblack666

usually KK and I do not agree on anything.

But post #709 has me LMAO

  • Gust372

Is the college transcripts the new thing for the birthers? lol. What will they think of next?

  • YoungAmerican

Billions of dollars, hundreds of thousands of lives lost, countless innocent people illegally detained and tortured, taking a massive dump on everything this country is supposedly about…

All for one guy, whose death won’t even stop “terror”.

  • Gust372

MB, how owned did you feel when O bama busted out the birth certificate?

  • Gust372

Young American, so what was O bama supposed to do, let Bin Laden walk?

  • Gust372

Kell, exactly. That’s why I said all along that he shouldn’t show the birth certificate, because then they’re just going to move on to the next thing. Why feed these animals? Run the country. That’s all they’re trying to do anyway, is distract him so that in the end they can say he didn’t accomplish anything. He busted out the birth certificate and took out Bin Laden in the same week. So they’d might as well find a new strategy. Evidently this man can walk and chew gum at the same time, where the previous president could do neither.

    Yes YA,

And it was worth it. Terror will always exist. Killing OBL and stopping terror aren’t mutually exclusive.

    ————

He had to “finish” what was already started, for sure. Problem is, it’s never going to be finished. There will be a permanent military presence in both Iraq and Afghanistan, the former having no ties whatsoever to UBL. The latter was a country the US paid him to fight in back in the 80s.

Foreign policy blunder after foreign policy blunder. No end in sight.

What do think the Vegas odds are that there will be a season this year? I’ll take that bet today before the odds become 1:1

  • YoungAmerican

So long as the US meddles in the affairs of foreign countries, especially in the Middle East, it will be the target of terrorism. The US has a long history of toppling countries and installing governments that have pro-US trade policies. Still goes on to this day.

  • YoungAmerican

It’s looking more and more likely that the season will be shortened. I think at this point, the best case scenario is that only the preseason is shortened. This is going to get ugly (uglier, rather) very quickly.

the toppling of tolatarian dictators like Musharoff, et. al, is crippling AQ, by re-emphranchising people who have come to distrust Gov’t. AQ was feeding off the fear and ignorance these regimes caused.

    Yes -500

    No +350

Odds are favoring the fact that we may not have a season at all.

  • YoungAmerican

The US put Saddam in power, put the Shah in power, supported recently-ousted Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak until the very end, funded UBL and continues to fund Afghan warlords, continues to fund a Pakistani government with just as many ties to terrorism as the Taliban and Saddam ever had, displaced an entire population of people for the sake of making room for Israel, has assassinated countless Latin American leaders who wanted to nationalize their industries to help their own people instead. And that’s just in the last 50-60 years, off the top of my head….

  • RaiderRockstar

So we shot OBL in the melon and his wife in the leg and his brother is dead? Where is his wife? Where is his brother?

We collected all sorts of intel from his PC, DVD’s, Documents, thumb drives…..and that didn’t lead to NOT 1 arrest or raid ???????

    ***

    Brown,

OBL had a PC, DVD’s, & thumb drives?

even 54 year old Saudi Arabian dudes are more tech savvy than Al Davis!

  • guest123

    Are these real odds?

I agree with Vegas. No season at all.

  • guest123

Al is tech savvy! He has one of those kindle e-books.

    OOps! sorry…

Scratch that….it’s just his overhead projector.

  • RaiderRockstar

any vet that has made big time catches we need cant afford to pass on one

    not david tyree either

    David Tyree > Darrius Heyward-Bey

  • Silverandblack666

    Guest123

Those were live odds when I cut and pasted them. In other words you could have placed a bet right then and there with those odds.

  • guest123

I am not a gambler for real. What do the +200 and -500 mean?

And isn’t already a lock that we have a lockout in 2011? Since we are currently in one?

  • RaiderRockstar

    OUCH!

maybe McNabb & Fat Albert were on to something?

oddly enough, DeAngelo Hall made the Pro Bowl with Washington. this dude feeds off of dysfunction :P

  • Silverandblack666

+200 means that if you bet $1 you would win $2

-500 means if you bet $1 you would win .20 cents

  • RaiderRockstar

does anybody really care what Rashard Mendenhall thinks of the OBL situation?

He’s not an owner, GM or Head Coach. He certainly doesn’t speak for the Steelers organization or the fans.

he just runs his mouth and people eat it up like he’s Chad OchoCinco.

    not that interesting folks, seriously

  • guest123

    Thanks 666

here’s a look at seven free-agents-to-be who could stand to do well on the open market.

    #1 Nnamdi Asomugha, corner

By far the top prize of this free-agent class and the only one of these 200-odd players who could rightly make a claim to being the very best in the world at his position. He’s without a doubt in the top two or three, if you want to put Darrelle Revis first. Asomugha is creeping up on 30, but is still in line for a massive payday that will exceed $15 million per season. Houston and Dallas are not shy about spending money, and both could use a corner. The Jets were a rumored suitor, but in this scenario still have Antonio Cromartie as a restricted free agent. Given his age, Asomugha makes the most sense for teams that are already playoff ready or just on the cusp

    By Jason La Canfora

  • YoungAmerican

I wonder how much of the stuff bin Laden had was given to him by CIA.

  • RaiderRockstar

Pretty funny that most Raider fans on this blog thought Nnamdi Asomugha would gladly accept the contract we gave Stan Routt at $10 million per season when other teams around the league are gladly willing to fork over 15+

  • http://www.jerryisatwit.com MistaBrown

    Zero %
Didn’t really care about it just wondered why he would hide it for 2 years and cause a distraction, unnecessarily.

I am so sick of reading articles about who tweeted what!

The modern day athlete tweeting is the equivalent of a 13 year old girl dressing inappropriately to get attention.

  • guest123

I would think that Nnamdi with his strong ties to the community and being a local boy would give Al a hometown discount. $10 mil seems right to not have to learn a new system. All the hassle of moving. All the people he is close to that he’ll leave behind.

  • mikedlopes

Maan.. this lockout is dumb.. taking forever!

Hopefully our free agents get another stay in Oakland
