Not everyone. Some want to see our young group of players get the playing time and take over this team. Not everyone wants to fill the team with other teams cast-offs.

    —————

That’s really not what I said above, though, is it?

One veteran along the offensive line, and adding a FS to a group of safeties who aren’t ideal fits for being “center field” type players. Other than that? Miller, Satele, and either Henderson or Barnes.

Right now there are barely enough offensive linemen on the roster to field a team. Three of them would be starting for the first time in their careers. One of them is 34 and likely a cap casualty.

  6. YoungAmerican Says:

And calling free agents like Dahl, Clabo, Yanda or Blalock “cast-offs” is laughable.

  7. Born with a Patch Says:

Nnamdi has said that Al believed in his abilities more than anybody else and credits Al with helping him become who he is today. I think Nnamdi stays and so does Huff. Zach is a great player and i hope we keep him but I dont think we will be hurting without him as much as everybody thinks.

Steve is going to be busier that a one legged man in an azz kickin contest…
Can’t wait to see what AD does this week, you just never know.
Happier than heck that football is back.
    Good luck this year NATION.

  9. 8RaiderReign8 Says:

Looks like Jerry quit at the right time cuz news is flying like a Canadian Goose.

  10. bcz24 Says:

Schefter just said he thinks we may take a flyer on McNabb… could Soup lose his job to Donovan twice in as many years?

  11. raiderfankirk Says:

Agreed Nnamdi and Huff are more important than Miller. His play dropped off last year. Not talking about running but drops. Maybe Christmas in July and they all stay.

  12. raiderfankirk Says:

Wanted mcnabb last year and think he and Hue would be a good fit. Passion for the game. Don’t think Donovan is playing for the cash at this point. What a slap to shanna-rat that would be.

  13. raiderfankirk Says:

Team guys always beat money guys. Taiwan Jones highlights are given me a chubby. Taiwan and Daddy Mac on the field at the same time, shift 5wide spread. Look for the lb’s.

  14. Nnamdi21 Says:

    JERRY! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  15. raiderfankirk Says:

Donovan is to old and mature to put up with shanna-rats BS your gonna be my player I own you shizt. When all you have to do is respect the guy and ask. He’d probably run over Ray Lewis for you.

  16. bcz24 Says:

After the schit donovan went through last year he is determined to play football at a high level again. I would be happy about this.

  17. bcz24 Says:

Cut Tommie Kelly and pick up Kelly Gregg!!!! Grab Heap if we lose Miller too

  18. Mr T Says:

    Whutch choo talkin bout foooo

I say if Al Davis cant put a winning team on the field this year, then he can sniff my rosy smellin rump, he can suck my wood. I just plain sick and tired of losin, fooo.
He wont see anothah red cent from my pocket, got that fooo

Now come over here and sit on yo mamas’ wooden leg bizz

  19. raiderfankirk Says:

Orton is on top of my wish list, but Donovan is easily my #2. Besides when Donovan gets hurt and he will. Jason plays great off the bench.

  20. 8RaiderReign8 Says:

So Raiders might start reporting as early as tomorrow? Im considering going down to HQ and shaking hands as they enter.

  21. BrotherCanYouSpareADime Says:

Anybady hot on McNabb has to ask themselves one simple question: Is the man mobile enough to scramble when he has to (and that will be a lot) and get of sacks reach and still get the ball down field? Hmmmm?

Now maybe he can manage a good run game, but so can Campbell. JC is our best bet as a quarterback who has to be mobile, and he will have to be mobile, and he can get the ball downfield.

Now if you want McNabb as a #2, OK by me.

  22. raiderfankirk Says:

Interesting …what is Kelly’s contract. Could he be the cap loss. If Henderson can play enough snaps that fills Gregg’s role. And much cheaper.

    ______________

You’re crazy. Zach is way more valuable than Huff. Just ask yourself this: is Huff a potential pro-bowler? Cuz Zach basically is a pro-bowler for years to come.

  24. raiderfankirk Says:

McNabb has much better deep ball and I’m not so sure Al wasn’t interested last season.

  25. raiderfankirk Says:

No one said Huff is better than Miller, just that Huff leaves a bigger whole.

  26. Raiders for life Says:

    ##############################################

Al’s done it before……Evans, Brooks, Culpepper.
Older vet’s that never really panned out. But….McNabb is better than the Raiders #2 and 3.
I’ve been hoping for Orton if he takes a back seat to Soup.

  27. raiderfankirk Says:

Huff, Nnamdi, Miller, bush. You can keep only three. I gotta let Bush go. Better for team IMO. Yes I know Bush is restricted. Just saying.

  28. raiderfankirk Says:

    Blanda

  29. raiderfankirk Says:

Is there anybody who wouldn’t like to see Lamar get a few carries this year. Big angry man coming through.

  30. raiderfankirk Says:

Why would you want Orton behind JC. Just delaying the inevitable.

  31. 8RaiderReign8 Says:

I agree that Huff leaves a bigger hole, but the backups behind Huff are more ready to step into the role than the people behind Miller.

    #####################################

No, you don’t let Bush go. Nnamdi and Huff are as good as gone. Bush is a bruiser.

  33. raiderfankirk Says:

Meyer’s looks pretty good to me.

  34. raiderfankirk Says:

    Reece and rookie also options.

  35. raiderfankirk Says:

Really wish Bush would be willing to line up as FB. Team players.

  36. raiderfankirk Says:

If Reece can’t block as TE then why is he playing FB.

  37. Raiders for life Says:

    Kirk,
At this point I would be happy with any QB at #2 besides Boller. McNabb would be fine with me. I’m sure AL will pick up someone from the bunch.

  38. raiderfankirk Says:

Taiwan looks like the real deal, gotta get him on the field. Make you look stupid, runs behind pads and awesome balance.

  39. raiderfankirk Says:

    Reminds me of Chris Johnson.

  40. Nnamdi21 Says:

    11. Miller struggled alot in blocking last year but was dinged up with a painful foot tear.

Hard to make him the highest paid TE in the game after a down year but that won’t stop Al if he wants him.

  41. Raider J Says:

Ahhh football… Thanks Jerry. Keep up the good work, Steve.

    When is the supplemental draft?

  42. RaiderG Says:

    Play Ball Baby!
