Raiders training camp schedule released
By Steve Corkran
Tuesday, July 26th, 2011 at 3:50 pm in Oakland Raiders.
The Raiders announced Tuesday that players under contract will report to Napa for the start of training camp Wednesday.
The first media contact will come in the form of a news conference with coach Hue Jackson at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Players will spend their first day receiving physicals, getting their playbooks, meeting with position coaches and settling into their rooms at the Napa Valley Marriott.
A players-only bus from Alameda to Napa is scheduled to arrive around 10 a.m.
The first practice is scheduled for Thursday at 3:30 p.m. The Raiders will adhere to that practice schedule from Thursday through Monday, at least.
The first few days of practice likely will center on conditioning and teaching. The real hitting and contact likely won’t start until the weekend, at the earliest.
Stay tuned for news on whether the Raiders signed any undrafted free agents today and if they are in negotiations with any unrestricted free agents who played for other teams last season.

OT’s gaither and Ryan Harris would be a huge assit to our offense.

Really? Corkran we already know about 7 or so players the Raiders signed. Try and keep up. If you wait for verification from the Raiders on every player they sign this blog is DOA.

Schillens is again the wildcard and we must restructure and bench DHB. If he starts we will not win 6 games period.

Raiders re-sign Moss!…Jarvis Moss

It is amazing that there are so many tards on this blog who think DHB is going to be an elite WR. PriestBJ thinks he is pro-bowl caliber..Please.

Steve, You really need to step up your game if you want to fill the shoes of what Jerry was doing around here. We haven’t got one update from you by now, jerry would have had 4 new posts on here by now!

We need to keep DHB for two more years. Then, we will have the dubious distinction of having TWO of the 10 biggest first round draft busts in NFL history!!

DHB gets another year in my book. Cliff Branch took a few years to hit his stride.
HOF reciever, probably not, effective playmaker, very possible.

Raidertbone,
The absence of a true number one WR has killed us as of late. Compare DHB to: Bowe, LLoyd, Jackson,Floyd?? No contest..Murphy and his oven mitt hands needs to get over the dropsies to even be a legit option at #2. In a perfect world, we keep miller, Chaz is healthy, and ford become our number two guy, and Murphy the three….DHB and 7 million cut.
July 26th, 2011 at 3:59 pm
After looking at our o-line were screwed. They may all be solid soon BUT they need to be good now. We desperately need a solid FA pick-up somewhere on the line to keep these guy ssharp thru camp and adveristy during the season. Dahl is a raider.

I am waiting to see how HueJ is going to build the OLine. 3 first time starters, 2 rookies, a 2nd yr LT out of Hilsdale and a journeyman LG are not confidence inspiring. I’ve seen the look in Soup’s eyes (recall Tennessee opening game last year) when he doesn’t believe the boys up front can get it done. And it ain’t pretty….

True — we need a proven #1. Despite what some people have said, I would love to see Plax in a silver and black uniform!!

Raiderlen,
With all due respect…that is an insult to Cliff Branch.DHB is just not a natural receiver..he reminds me a great deal of Alvis Whitted..DHB is so far behind the pass catching ability of James Jett..Another year of starting this WR imposter will cost us a chance to get over 500.
July 26th, 2011 at 4:06 pm
Even if we address the oline, we need a legit WR; otherwise we are too easy to game plan…Last years teams bracketed Miller and left DHB and Murphy to piss on themselves…J ford was huge last year, but this year he will be game planned and minimized if DHB is out there wasting space.

Agreed DHB gets camp to prove it, if he doesn;t he needs to be cut fast and save some cap. He would be best suited on Punt Coverage and special teams. He does block better than anything else he does on a football field.
July 26th, 2011 at 4:09 pm
Hope we draft Michael Floyd outta Notre Dame next year, the next Tim Brown.
July 26th, 2011 at 4:09 pm
J ford was huge last year, but this year he will be game planned and minimized +++++++++++++=
Disagree Bruh, the only thing you can do for JFORD is maybe throw a bracket at him, which is why I am going to 3 WR sets….
All of you Semi Pros, blog personalites saw last year in the seattle presea game what JFORD was/is….

Problem with this argument is that DHB got first class bread…When was the great cliff branch drafted…
I hope he steps his gane up as the NATION needs it…
July 26th, 2011 at 4:12 pm
89052….might as well be chad….he at least can do the entire route tree and has better hands than anyone on team
July 26th, 2011 at 4:12 pm
DHB is one of the top 15 highest paid WR’s in the NFL..If Al will let go of ASO so he can use to money to sign more players then he must apply the same logic to DHB and, at least restructure his deal…Do we need another year of DHB starting to acknowledge he is a bust? I don’t think even PreistBJ is expecting a probowl season out of DHB.
July 26th, 2011 at 4:13 pm
I would take Chad or Plax…A healthy Chaz would be heavenly.

Chad totally available….cincy bout to slice him
July 26th, 2011 at 4:15 pm
Plax is talking to the Giants again! Who knows….
July 26th, 2011 at 4:15 pm
Thec07,
I do think Ford is special, but having a useless DHB will limit his effectiveness…A true number one would keep teams from bracketing Jacoby..Just saying.
July 26th, 2011 at 4:15 pm
that’s bs this guy updates more often than Jerry did, some u guys act like junior high school boys

July 26th, 2011 at 4:26 pm
We all agree DHB is costly $$$$ but in all honestly AL won’t cut him. Try him out at DB !!!! A natural fit: batts down the balls, fast enough to shadow anybody in man coverage, great blocker so sure he can jam well at line right? hahahahahhahha
He will get 2011 season chance, with a restructed deal of course. AL will restructure you can’t be a top 15 paid WR and have 2 yr stats that andre johnson puts up in one game.
