Raiders agree to terms with long-snapper Condo
By Steve Corkran
Wednesday, July 27th, 2011 at 10:12 am in Oakland Raiders.
The Raiders locked up another one of their core special teams players by agreeing to terms with long-snapper Jon Condo on Wednesday morning, according to ESPN.Condo was an unrestricted free agent, and he has spent all four of his NFL seasons with the Raiders. He joined the Raiders at the tail end of the 2006 season and honed his craft under Adam Treu while on the practice squad.
The Raiders cut Treu on the eve of training camp in 2007 because they felt as if Condo was ready to assume the reins. Condo has done nothing to make the Raiders second guess the move.
Getting Condo back in the fold keeps intact one of the league’s best punter-kicker-snapper combos, along with kicker Sebastian Janikowski and punter Shane Lechler.
Just arrived in Napa and am awaiting the arrival of the bus that is transporting players from Alameda to the Raiders training camp facility. I will post throughout the day as players speak and coach Hue Jackson greets the media for the first time since the NFL draft in April.

I’m not sure I like Trent Edwards I was once very high on this guy but in the last 2 years his accuracy and playmaking ability just wreaked. Sometimes that guy would hold the ball with people open all over the field and take a sack. He was terrible the times I saw him play which i will admit wasn’t very often. But I have a good friend who’s been a Bills fan his entire life and he hates the guy.
Can someone tell me why you are so against Boller as a backup? I know he sucks……….but all I hear you guys talk about bringing here are guys who suck.

Gannon was 38, Hwnrder. How much longer did you think he was going to play? Yeah, Troy Aikman was a horrible QB. Because he got hurt in his final season. What a dummy. Should have never run with the football. Steve Young…awful. Got hurt against Arizona at the end of his career. Should have just taken the sack. What an idiot. Oh, and let’s not forget, Jim Plunkett. Hello, Jim! Get rid of the football! What, you were 40 years old when it happened? Boo hoo! you suck!!!!

CBS Sports is reporting that Nnamdi’s willing to take less money to go to NY and play alongside his buddy Revis.
If true, it means we never really had a chance to re-sign him. If he let Al know privately months ago, it also explains the Routt re-signing.

I especially can’t see the Bengals wanting to let “Future of the Franchise” Andy Dalton anywhere near him. Hell, Russell might mistake him for an hors d’oeuvre.

The truth about DHB:
Right now, he looks to be a bust, but he didn’t even play little league football continuously. He only got serious about football in high school, and he barely learned the game for real there. He was simply a raw athlete in the Maryland high school system and at the Univ of Maryland. He’ll gradually learn more and more and might be a solid player in like 2-3 years. One of those guys where the game really came to him late.
But unfortunately, right now, he’s a #4 WR faking as a #1. We need a for real #1 to accompany our #2 Murphy and our #3 Ford. Give DHB a couple though…he’ll pan out. Again though, just another poor example of the usage of a high first round draft pick in the past decade and a half.

Warren on NFLN talking about how Kolb should report to camp and do his job, i agree with him but did he actually do his job when he played for us? it is no coincidence that Warren’s last name is Sapp

On the other hand, I’d still rather have DHB than Crabtree.
At least DHB’s not a prima donna who keeps trying to get his QB and offensive coaching staff fired.
Al really should have drafted Jeremy Maclin…

Bleeder,
If dhb is really a number 4 Wr then he needs to get paid like one.. The whole issue with Dhb is we not only have overpaid him but he is also forced to masquerade As a number 1 Wr. This situation must be addressed if We want to take the next step.. The chefs have climbed out of the toilet because they start legitimate NFL players…guys like Trevor Scott, dhb, and mike Mitchell would never get the same number of snaps in the cfl..just saying

Jhill, how do you suppose dhb will be a solid contributor?
——————————————————-
I don’t think he will or should start. I’m past him being drafted #7 overall. As late as the Indy game, we threw him 4 passes, and he caught 4 passes.
Like all WRs, especially Murphy, he will drop some ball. But he will catch some balls, and if we can get him in space (routes other than 10-15 yd verticals), I think his undeniable athleticism can do some things.
Contributor, not #1 guy or pro bowler.
July 27th, 2011 at 12:16 pm
Look at the contracts.DHB is paid like a #4 WR.Your hate for the guy blinds you from the facts. What happened,he do your sister or something.

Lefty, what next? You want to meet me by the monkey bars? You and some of your fellow yards on here think the return to glory is immanent but the pathology is everywhere in this organization. Dhb and Al’s other pets have kept us irrelevant. It is obvious that poor drafting and ignoring glaring needs has made us a joke.. You are to ignorant to realize 8-8 is a pipe dream.
