Raiders agree to terms with long-snapper Condo

By Steve Corkran
Wednesday, July 27th, 2011 at 10:12 am in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders locked up another one of their core special teams players by agreeing to terms with long-snapper Jon Condo on Wednesday morning, according to ESPN.Condo was an unrestricted free agent, and he has spent all four of his NFL seasons with the Raiders. He joined the Raiders at the tail end of the 2006 season and honed his craft under Adam Treu while on the practice squad.

The Raiders cut Treu on the eve of training camp in 2007 because they felt as if Condo was ready to assume the reins. Condo has done nothing to make the Raiders second guess the move.

Getting Condo back in the fold keeps intact one of the league’s best punter-kicker-snapper combos, along with kicker Sebastian Janikowski and punter Shane Lechler.

Just arrived in Napa and am awaiting the arrival of the bus that is transporting players from Alameda to the Raiders training camp facility. I will post throughout the day as players speak and coach Hue Jackson greets the media for the first time since the NFL draft in April.

Gholdson would be an upgrade over huff. he is a vicious hitter, and has very good range. no more huff diving into the turf to avoid contact.

  • J Hill

DHB is going to be a solid contributor for us this year.

  • DeuceDeuce

I still think we have a chance at re-signing Nnamdi..

  • bcz24

Gholdson is not as good in coverage as Huff in my opinion. Not sure how he would fair as a single high safety. Fact is Gholdson IS better the Hiram Eugene

  • http://Www.bullycains.com r8dercain

Yes DHB needs to re work his contract.
If tim brown did it an he performed much better. Then this kid needs to get 3rd money
    re work your contract DHB

With Davis at the helm we always have a chance.

dont underestimate the power of the dark side

  • Master Beeecham

Krappy sure looks agitated today! Understandable for a broke old fool married to a donkey with a bowl cut.

Looking forward to plenty of Kelly Family Follies this season!

Cooper Carlisle is in camp. Expects to continue being starting Raiders starting RG. Rumored to be potential cut.

    LIG it man he’s gone!!!!
Move on to the new era in the defensive backfield an support them
    area 21 is gone bro

  • hwnrdr

I don’t see DHB as being as stingy as Russell…But will he restructure? I say he does to keep the core together!

  • RaiderDuck

No, not Carlisle at RG again. Enough!

If they do sign Gaither or another starting OT, then put Loper, Campbell and Barksdale in an open competition for the two OG spots.

  • Born with a Patch

DHB might not have hands but you can’t question that he’s a team player. he’ll restructure

  • 89052RAIDER

Jhill, how do you suppose dhb will be a solid contributor? He was an absolute hinderance. Last year. He made one play on a blown coverage by the seabag safety; otherwise he was garbage. We cannot beat good teams if he continues to start..period..he us not an NFL caliber player.

  • SilverAndBlackBleeder

Hate to even bring Bolt talk into our lair, but the resigning of Weddle and landing Sanders was huge for that backfield. That’s ok though; it’ll just make it sweeter to see Jacoby Ford toast ‘em next year!

    Rack ‘em

  • hwnrdr

Sanders? Bob? Sorry, missed that one…

  • 89052RAIDER

I am sure dhb is a fine human being, but, the fact remains, he has the receiver skill set of an average hs player..alvis whited was more skilled.

    ++++++++++++

Truth..I like that they have BobS…He will play like 3 games and go down ith an injury….

  • Born with a Patch

I like the way bob sanders plays. but he really only plays like a half a game per year

  • Deja vu

    Another QB on the move!

First off….LooseGoose….u lil btch u shut da fk up ever addressing me. U are beneath me and arent even worthy enough to lick my shoes even if i stepped into a pile of dogschit. MR hates the raiders and hates Al Davis. I dont! Oh you mad I want youur lover NNamdi to go play with the phags on the other side of the bay? Oh well…fk you and everything u stand for

  • SilverAndBlackBleeder

    The truth about DHB:

Right now, he looks to be a bust, but he didn’t even play little league football continuously. He only got serious about football in high school, and he barely learned the game for real there. He was simply a raw athlete in the Maryland high school system and at the Univ of Maryland. He’ll gradually learn more and more and might be a solid player in like 2-3 years. One of those guys where the game really came to him late.

But unfortunately, right now, he’s a #4 WR faking as a #1. We need a for real #1 to accompany our #2 Murphy and our #3 Ford. Give DHB a couple though…he’ll pan out. Again though, just another poor example of the usage of a high first round draft pick in the past decade and a half.

  • Born with a Patch

Warren on NFLN talking about how Kolb should report to camp and do his job, i agree with him but did he actually do his job when he played for us? it is no coincidence that Warren’s last name is Sapp

  • Bauce Rules

Ninerwoman49….ur futile comeback was lame. Bend over betty btch such as yourself needs your own material. I aced you with the jizz bib thing and u wanna use “splooge” angle….too late son. Cant use my roast after its been used on u…..step your schit up phagget

  • RaiderDuck

On the other hand, I’d still rather have DHB than Crabtree.

At least DHB’s not a prima donna who keeps trying to get his QB and offensive coaching staff fired.

Al really should have drafted Jeremy Maclin…

  • Bauce Rules

Semi-literate? Hahahahaha Mort Goldman…..being semi is an upgrade compared to the likes of you! You are the same idiot who said VY and Grad was more accurate than JC WHEN U CAN Easily read thats false

The Cowboys cleared $16.6 million of cap room in order to re-sign Doug Free. They don’t have much room for free agents

Dallas was supposedly the only team pursuing huff. he’ll probably remain a Raider.

  • hwnrdr

Was Dallas pursuing Huff or was Huff pursuing Dallas? LOL…He wanted to come home right?

    Bleeder,
If dhb is really a number 4 Wr then he needs to get paid like one.. The whole issue with Dhb is we not only have overpaid him but he is also forced to masquerade As a number 1 Wr. This situation must be addressed if We want to take the next step.. The chefs have climbed out of the toilet because they start legitimate NFL players…guys like Trevor Scott, dhb, and mike Mitchell would never get the same number of snaps in the cfl..just saying

    ——————————————————-

I don’t think he will or should start. I’m past him being drafted #7 overall. As late as the Indy game, we threw him 4 passes, and he caught 4 passes.

Like all WRs, especially Murphy, he will drop some ball. But he will catch some balls, and if we can get him in space (routes other than 10-15 yd verticals), I think his undeniable athleticism can do some things.

Contributor, not #1 guy or pro bowler.

  • lefty12

Look at the contracts.DHB is paid like a #4 WR.Your hate for the guy blinds you from the facts. What happened,he do your sister or something.

  • Bauce Rules

Yeah Nnamdi go to NY for less money so ur punk ass can further your acting career…as Mista said you been acting like a playmaking CB for years now

  • Bauce Rules

Lefty lmao…..whoaaaaaa that came outta nowhere

  • Bauce Rules

Jhill…..its 10vs 11 when DHBz is on the field….he is gettin no passes from me. He sucks

  • RaiderDuck

    New Post.

  • 89052RAIDER

Lefty, what next? You want to meet me by the monkey bars? You and some of your fellow yards on here think the return to glory is immanent but the pathology is everywhere in this organization. Dhb and Al’s other pets have kept us irrelevant. It is obvious that poor drafting and ignoring glaring needs has made us a joke.. You are to ignorant to realize 8-8 is a pipe dream.
