UPDATE: Have confirmed that Zach Miller is indeed visiting with the Seahawks at their facility. Their incumbent tight ends are fourth-year veteran John Carlson (31 receptions, 318 yards, 1 touchdown) and third-year player Cameron Morrah (9 receptions, 119 yards).
Free agent tight end Zach Miller is visiting the Seattle Seahwaks today, according to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com and the Carroll County Times.
At Raiders camp Sunday, a team source said Miller was in the process of finalzing details to remain with the Raiders and coach Hue Jackson said he expected a “resolution” soon.
For what it’s worth, Wilson’s reports in matters of contract figures and team visits is normally spot-on.
Whether Miller is simply checking out his options and getting additional leverage for his negotiations with the Raiders or if he considers the Seahawks (with Tom Cable as associate head coach and line coach) a potential destination is not known.
In another development, Adam Schefter reported on his Twitter account the Raiders were having Seattle linebacker Lofa Tatupu in for a visit.
Tatupu ostensibly would play weakside linebacker in Oakland. He is normally an every-down player, so it remains to be seen if the Raiders would be willing to pay the kind of money he wants or have the kind of role he desires.
