You guys probably had good parents, when your stomach growled they fed you. You didn’t ahve to go to sleep hungry or wear someone else’s clothes after tehy wore them out.
Those kids that come from homes where their parents were drug addicts and alcoholics don’t know that life. If someone offered them 100$ they have to take it or starve…….get it!

Maybe so growing up. But when they reach college on a big time scholarship and have counselors and all the other good things associated with a ‘ride’ at a major university, things change and they need to grow up.
And a lot do. Football breeds a lot of discipline. You need to quit making excuses for the man. Blow off the crush. He may be a great athlete, but no guarentee he’ll make a good NFL player. Some of your takes on previous busts haven’t exactly been spot on.

All those problems at home you have been listing: mom working two jobs etc, are the same problems they would have had if they didn’t take their free ride to college.
College football, because of their athletic gifts allows for them to change their financial futures. Even if they don’t make it to the NFL, they get what 99 percent of others don’t get, a FREE EDUCATION.
Instead of looking at the major college football program as a curse, why don’t you look at the benefits. If they cannot do the right thing for 3-4 years of their life with all they are GIVEN, then they are like you BHP, high functioning retards.

Terrapin; I would also add Mr. W. McFadden to your list as I would like to see him step up from last games performance, at the very least see him continue his aggressiveness w/o p.i. calls; is he playing with confidence?
AZ just lost Ryan W. Raiders should look to trade Mr. Bennett, see if we could get a 6th or 7th for him; if so Raiders can afford to use a 5th on Pryor.

If Pryor is open to seeing some time at other positions besides QB, a 5th rounder wouldn’t be a bad deal at all.

If I’ve heard a common theme about the AFC West this season during the course of my camp travels it’s this: No one outside of Oakland is unhappy to have ex-Raiders head coach Tom Cable out of the division. The Raiders played hard for Cable last season, going 6-0 in the division and finishing with Oakland’s first non-losing record since its 2002 Super Bowl season.
“The Raiders were a tough team last year,” one AFC West source said. “You got beat up coming out of that game. Cable had those guys playing hard for him, and nobody’s sorry to see him go. Why Al Davis got rid of him after that team made so much progress, nobody understands.”

Jc looks like a high school kid playing in the nfl. Slow reads, bad passes, no leadership no control of this O. You never see a TD with this passing game i forget what it looks like to see the raiders score a passing TD. If they do get momentum they screw it up with penalties in crusial situations just pathetic. Preseason for this team so far is really really bad.

Ive seen enough of the Oline to know that Barks and B. Camp should start next week on the right side. Held up well in pass protection. A couple of missed assgs for Barks, but most importantly, no false starts or holding, for either. We know what we have with Barnes and Carlisle. Not much. Let them start gelling and learning the positions and getting adapted, and by the start of next season, the right side of our line will be as dominant as anyone elses. They got it. Let em start gettin there hands dirty and learning defenses tendencies.

i wonder if mystic will come in here and say how strong of a leader jc was. how he stood there with patience in the pocket as he allowed boss to be open twice for a td and not throw it. what wonderful judgement by jc to allow another money play to escape his grasp. how he couldve easily just ran to the outside on 1 play but his hesitation allowed the defense to close in on him. it was brilliant how he is giving the whiners defense confidence. damn that jc masters this offense to a tee.

vegas i look at td’s. soup isnt prducing td’s. when the opportunity is there u have to cash in. he stared down dhb last week and got the ball knocked down. his release is too slow on top of slow reads. he missed dhb down the sideline last week and 2day he missed boss twice on the same play! he didnt even throw it. oline may be schit but there plays to make and he doesnt make them. he also just has this weakling like energy that bores me. he doesnt play fast and ive had enuff. no excuses!!!

1. Nnamdi is gone and its obvious. I know the starters didnt play alot on def, but I think Hue is protecting there egos.
2.DVD is not good. Im not being extreme when i say this, bc for a 3rd rd CB to be afraid of contact, thats not gonna change. I dnt care about speed on def, esp if you cant tackle.
3. 2nd team def is garbage. i thought last week was a fluke in terms of how bad they are…but no there bad.
4. Oline has some issues….and Hue needs to settle in on his starters soon

1. We finally have decent starting WRs ( i.e. DHB and Moore ect)
2. JC looks alot more confident in the pocket and when he has time.

Only lost four games playing for a major college program, mobile, tall, and his arm is not as bad (to me) as everyone thinks.

We definitely miss McFadden on O and the only 4 guys on the 2nd team looked like NFL players, specifically Bryant, SMoore, Moss, and John Henderson.
And even they got owned on that 53 yarder.

Well from what i can see from that crappy performance was D. Moore played decent. DHB made a very nice grab, Bush had a few nice runs and ST’s. Oh and Shonasty looked awesome!
Other than that the Oline got stood up in the red zone. Nobody was getting through that line on the FB dive with Reece. Like Armond states, Campbell had a wide open Boss but didn’t pull the trigger. Seems like we went backwards more than foward on O. That’s not building a bully. Pathetic performance overall.
Hopefully we get some starters back from injuries for next week and work on less Penalties!

Hell, even the Ravens called a timeout so they could run an extra play and score a touchdown on the last play of the game. This preseason is gonna look different from any other in NFL history because of the short “on field” window for all teams. I thought JaJason threw a few nice balls. One of the only good things to come out of this game was DHB actually making 2 catches.
But at the end of the day JaJason is JaJason.
Once JaJason is forced to move out of the pocket – or even within the pocket – he has absolutely no awareness of what’s going on around him. He just doesn’t see the field and isn’t good at improvising. Didn’t surprise me to see him miss the easy TD available to the TE this game. That’s who he is.
One other thing – I’m not going to say JaJason is injury prone or isn’t a tough guy – but I will say he’s showing signs of being concussion prone, seems to get up slowly every time he’s hit, and looks lethargic as hell.
Raids need a QB.

This game stinged a bit.
* DHB is no fluke, neither is Moore. Moore will be an awesome playa. DHB has the oppty to be as well (2 helluva catches that kid made today). They need to keep feeding him. I think he was open for the TD when Campbell passed to Moore OOB.
* 1st team run defense was pretty good. 1st team, 3rd down defense is another topic. Particulary the safeties (Branch) and the LBs (Groves, then Wimbley). Start MM34 over Branch. I’ve had enough.
* I knew Campbell was hurt as soon as he got hit from behind. He has some issue with his neck. I don’t know how much longer he can last in the league that way. He was hit too much in his career.
* BCamp looked like a beast. He still gets too high and needs to work on technique but that guy needs to play. PERIOD!
* Barkdale should start over Barnes simply because Barnes is no better after many years of experience.
* If you watch, the 2nd/3rd team OLs for the Whiners & Raiders owned 2nd/3rd team DLs. Whiners just did a much better job holding onto the ball keeping the Raiders cold turkey all game. TOP was ridiculous in favor on the Whiners.
* Bush tends to dance too much. Its almost like he’s trying not to get injured out there and being tenative instead of hitting it. Not that I blame him. Its only preseason. But I just don’t like watching it.

I would like 3 good linebackers. Right now he have McClain, who is getting better and then Groves who needs to go IMMEDIATELY and then Wimbley who should make some sacks and some plays against the run here and there.

Sterling Moore should be kept.
DVD has not looked good the past two games.
WRs should be in this order based solely on what we have seen so far: Moore, DHB, Hagan, Miller, Bodiford. Obviously once healthy Murphy, Schillens, and Ford will be part of the top 4, but as of right now the order should be as stated.

Edwards is not better than Campbell, just about even with JC having a slight advantage. Boller dead even with Edwards.
Need to see Taiwan. Cartwright and Bennett are not longer 2nds, more like 3rds.

I saw DHB open on the Moore OOB attempt for a TD in double coverage on the replay. Sometimes I just think these QBs fall in luv with a player and just misses others who are wide the fuk open.

When Edwards first came in I was hoping to see something that would give me hope he could do a good job when JaJason flames out or taps out.
He pretty much lost me. Yeah, the interception into double coverage was pathetic. Terrible decision, terrible throw. Pissed Hue off enough that we didn’t see Trent again. That hook speaks volumes.
But even worse than that throw was Edward’s complete lack of awareness of game situation. Did you notice that not a single Raider player was aware the 2 minute warning was coming as the clock ticked down ? Edwards was standing behind center getting ready to run a play without a clue that there was no chance of getting it off.
We’ve got JaJason calling timeouts unnecessarily. (happened repeatedly last year – remember the time out JaJason called when the Raids didn’t even have one left ?) When we should call a time out, we don’t. (remember Grads in Az ?)
You bet, this garbage falls on the QB. He’s got to be a poised general and be aware of game situation and play clock – but it also falls on the coaching staff.
It’s one thing being outplayed or physically dominated by a superior team. But it’s completely unacceptable to make mental errors, be unprepared or unaware of game situation.
Blame Hue. Blame Trent. Blame JaJason. This crap has got to stop.

Like JerryMac says, this game was a step backward, and the team didn’t address the main problems seen in the first game.
The dbs will more than likely hurt the defense all season. Rod Woodson has a major task in front of him, he might have been a great player, but he’ll have his work cut out with the players he has to develop. And, Bresnahan’s play calling has been bad, a lot of waste of talent. Tell us please that you know how to stop long runs, have we seen this picture before. How many long runs is this team going to allow?
The OL has major holes from Loper, Barnes, Satele, and Carlisle. This is a major problem, and the young players will need to be ready to step up, Wiz, Campbell, Veldeheer, and Barksdale, this will also be a major work in progress. Blocking schemes need to be addressed, and the penalty headaches in the red zone need to stop, not that we haven’t heard this before. This is an area where Cable will be missed.
The play calling in the red zone has been entirely predictable, and nothing has been shown to believe there were some changes made to improve from the first game. Not a bullying OL or attitude for sure, the play-calling is not smart either.
HueJac needs to show more than a mouthful. Plenty work to do on preparing a game plan and having the team ready to play, and not quit in the second half like they did today, particularly the defense.
Mr. Davis needs to bring Captain Kirk back in the mix, and or Lofa Tatupu, please.
I was thinking of trading for Matt Leinart, but after watching him tonight, he’s not any better than Campbell or Edwards. Not worth the trade.

That 1st team defense was bad, even though they came up with a couple of picks. You won’t beat anybody by giving up 10 minute drives to start the game! Come on Raiders, WAKE UP!!!

i dont believe this loss dooms us. what it does mean is that certain players and COACHES need to pull their heads out of their azz. we werent intense enuff on both sides of the ball. dhb played well and shouldve had a td. he shouldve been a priority after making that catch down the sideline.hue talks sh!t about getting guys involved who performed but didnt go right back to him while he was hot. jc is at fault for being slow and wussy. when he grows some balls this offense will take off.

Guys DHB looked good. That’s one helluva positive. So did BCampbell.
This game doesn’t mean much at all. It just highlights things to work on. I don’t put a lot of stock in these preseason games.
We seem to lose to the Niners yearly in pre and they end up being worse than us in the regs.
If you were judging preseason you would assume the Eagles are garbage after their last game – same for the Colts. Somehow I highly doubt it.

It was fun watching BCampbell tonight. Yeah, he made a couple of mistakes and his techinique isn’t the greatest, but that young man is strong as an ox and plays like he means it. Loved his first couple of plays where he mixed it up with the Niners’ DT right away. Seemed to be saying, “Yeah, I’m in here now, and I’m gonna kick your ass.”
I’d like to see him play against the Saints’ first team next week, just to see how he does.

If we can’t resolve this O-Line deficiency, it won’t matter who’s playing. Loper is NOT a starter. Carlisle is NO LONGER a starter. Barnes is definitely NOT a starter. Satele is a marginal starter at best. Put BCampbell at RG now. Yes, he rough on technique ut he’ll learn quicjer by doing it. Besides, he’s already better equipped than Carlisle. I know Barksdale is a rookie but he’s our best hope unless AD goes out and gets a proven FA. Wiz 2.0 may be OK but we need someone now! Plug Heyer in at LG. I’m thinkng that Veldher, Heyer, Satele/Wiz 2.0, BCampbell & Barksdale should be the O-Line we go with.
Unless we fix the O-line, we will be on the losing side of the ledger every time. Less talk Hue. More action required badly!

I have faith in this team, what this is is a wake up call to the players and the coaches. So we all should just chill and drink one and smoke one. Edward Teach I don’t deal in color man I was talking about their games. It bothers me when people always put every black QB in the same bag. I could’ve used Donovan Mcnabb but IMO Tom Brady is a pure pocket passer and these kids are very different so when people see them they get irritated if they don’t sit in the pocket and do things exactly as he does. They are not Drew Brees and Phil Rivers they are playmakers with the ball and Kaepernick wins games very differently but he can beta you with his arm. So can Cam Newton and so can T Pryor. Who is somewhat behind as he needs more polish but the guy wins games…………period

OK, we looked like crap. But it’s important not to overreact.
Don’t get too high after a win, too low after a loss.
Take this beatdown for what it was. A pre-season game with quite a few key players not playing or seeing limited time. A chance to evaluate players, identify problem areas and clean things up.
Plenty of work to do. Plenty of football to come.
I’m gonna stay optimistic even if I didn’t like what I saw today. My opinion of the overall squad hasn’t changed much. There’s some good young talent that has to step up and with a few breaks we can make some noise.
When all the pieces are in place and the real bullets start flying we’ll look better. Maybe even good enough to overcome JaJason. I hope so.

Glad to hear that, Priest. I don’t always agree with you, but I respect you and your opinions.
It’s plain that the position is changing. There are still guys like Manning and Brady (McNabb may be in that category now, but probably because he doesn’t move like he used to), but the true pocket passer is slowly being replaced by guys that can make plays with their feet, throw on the run and still maintain the ability to be effective in the five and seven-step drop. Defenses are too fast and agile now for a QB to sit back there and survey the field, and if you don’t have a superior running game to keep them honest with play-action you’d better be able to get the ball out quick, or move the pocket.
Hard to find guys athletic enough to play the new game and still be the passer that they have to be. Cam Newton seems like he has the tools; I remember people comparing him to Vick last year, but he reminded me more of a more athletic Ben Roethlesburger than anyone else. If he can figure out the NFL game (let’s face it; he didn’t get much prep for the pros at Auburn), he could be the next great one.
