I was surprised Loper was cut instead of Wand, but as long as we don’t have significant injuries inside it won’t matter. Miller is a very dependable receiver, but I don’t see us keeping 7 receivers. Keeping Bennent was a surprise, although I still think he has a spot in this league as a back up. These moves make me think we are considering trading a back or receiver to get another linebacker. Boyd needs to play better, hope we can get B. Merriwether. Obviously getting Briggs would be great, but I doubt Chicago would trade him unless we offered a number 1 and a young player. I was surprised #56 made the team and Bruce Davis was inconsistent. We really could use some depth at LB and Safety, if not a front line player via trade.

I see that two Rams players with value have been cut. Donnie Avery and Zach Diles would make excellent additions to our team. Avery is a quality receiver still and Diles is a perfect LBer for this squad.

Steve, your piece says, “The Raiders still haven’t announced their roster moves in reducing from 80 players to the league-mandated 53.”

This is not correct. The Raiders released their roster cuts at 6:30 last night on Raiders.com. In contrast, this article wasn’t published until 6:47.
