Report: LB Banta-Cain working out for Raiders today

Share

A report just surfaced about the Raiders working out veteran linebacker Tully Banta-Cain today. A subsequent report said Banta-Cain passed his physical.

The latter news portends the Raiders signing Banta-Cain at some point today. He has spent six of his eight NFL seasons with the New England Patriots. He also played for the 49ers in 2007 and ’08.

Banta-Cain, 31, started six games for the Patriots last season, and he recorded five sacks. His best season came in 2009, when he notched 10 sacks.

Banta-Cain underwent surgery for an abdominal strain in July, but he apparently has recovered well enough to resume his NFL career.

The Raiders don’t practice until 7:05 tonight, so there won’t be any comment from coach Hue Jackson or Raiders players until after 9 p.m.

Dan Fouts went to “heaven” when he landed with Coryell, or rather “Air-Coryell,” one of the greats in the passing game.

  • rob_raider

    ur simply pathetic

  • Hagar the Horrible

Seymour….my bad. They were horrible, including Morrison, (kirk, the captain).

  • Sullivan44

Rob, you’re not drunk? You act this way sober?

  • beach

There is no doubt these are the best offenses in the NFL. It must be nice to have the best QBs, something that we haven’t seen in over 20 years.

  • Sullivan44

Rob, seriously, are you special? You know..borderline? I mean, you’re normal enough to work, function, etc. But basically, you get a little excited about anything…and, you know…is that your deal?

  • SnB offense defense specialteams

    Seymour,

Thankfully the Raiders put Gerard Warren and Terdell Sands on the road too.

  • His Nibs

Kool Kell and MR/BEEECHAM/RMR/Sullivan44/ABP/Dvrick and many race baiting others, well, anyway my point is, both have ‘al davis has got in my head’ syndrome.

Such a sad little affair. I knew a friend like that, then one day he met a guy who had even a bigger case of ‘al davis has got in my head’ syndrome and then he finally figured it out.

Al Davis is the man, he owns the Raiders, and if you don’t like it, you can leave. It is that easy. Leave.

No Boss again in practice today or MM34.

If Ausberry is the 3rd TE with Boss out, how in the world is he even going to find any PT on game days when Boss is back?

Oh god Seymour Bush I hope you are right. How far back was
the last MLB we had? Matt Millen?
    =========================================

Yeah, and Millen had a couple of guys around him that weren’t too bad either. I think their names were Hendricks and Rod Martin.

  • Twinkle

Kept waiting for the bolts to get a defence but it never
    happened.Best O ever and they’d score 41 on our D and lose
every damn game.Hate the bolts but D.Fouts and co were a
    class act

Question: Does anyone know if we’ll be playing on grass against the Jets, or are we still going to be playing on dirt?

Should be all grass, the last A’s home game is a day game on Thursday, 22nd.

  • Sullivan44

Rob, you should just be lucky the blog doesn’t test for functioning IQs as a requirement for membership.

  • rob_raider

    why are u here?

  • Sullivan44

Rob, how many grades were you held back in elementary school? At least one. We know that. Was it 2? 3???

  • Seymour Bush

This GB NO game is a really really good game right now.

Were you on the debate team in high school? And did you always lose? Thought so.

  • rob_raider

don’t give some stupid answer like “to raise the iq”

  • Sullivan44

Rob, are you always like this, bud? Just a spaz? Are you one of those people that spazzes out so much that people can’t tell if you’re angry or happy? People at restaurants, what have you, turn and look when you get going?

  • Woodson throws a punch and stays in the game. If that was a Raider, him the coach, and half the fans would have been ejected.

  • rob_raider

anyone who actually has a brain can tell i’m intelligent–u can’t chnage the subject and think that will make it go away.

i’m a college grad–indiana university–the smartest guy in the room

    now, why r u here?

  • rob_raider

everyone here knows the truth–ur a friendless tool who needs attention

  • Sullivan44

Rob, I can’t even tell if you’re retarded or not. I think “intelligent” is a bit of a stretch in your case. That’s not going to happen. We need to shoot for a more modest goal for you, bud. Like a functioning IQ.

  • rob_raider

    answer the question sullivan

  • rob_raider

ur attacks on my intelligence are ridiculous and do nothing. everyone here can see i’m intelliegent. ur making a fool of urself–why r u here?

  • Sullivan44

Rob Raider, I’m proud of you for realistically downgrading your fantasies from being superman to being a college grad at Indiana. It’s still delusional, but it’s progress.

  • rob_raider

    friendless tool who needs attention

  • Sullivan44

    RobRaider,

I’ll answer your question when you answer this. How many years did you get held back in elementary school?

  • rob_raider

    answer–y r u here?

  • rob_raider

    everyone sees ur a chickensh*t

  • rob_raider

    none–now answer

  • rob_raider

    1240 on the sat–now answer

  • Sullivan44

Rob, come on. You don’t have to lie. Everyone can tell you were held back at least one year. That’s usually how parents find out their kid’s “special”. Not as mature as his classmates, can’t sit down, hyperactivity. You exude all of those traits here, so of course we know you were this way in school, too. How many years were you held back?

  • rob_raider

pathetic loser–nobody likes u here–just like in real life–go away

  • Sullivan44

It’s normal for retards to act tough. You know deep down inside that you’re retarded, and that no one would hit you because of it. Sort like when girls talk smack. They know nobody’s going to hit them.

  • rob_raider

nobody thinks ur posts are funny–not witty or clever–just a pathetic troll

  • Sullivan44

Oh, believe me, I’m not trying to be funny. Letting someone in on the fact that they’re retarded when their parents tried to shield it from them their whole lives is not funny. I dont enjoy this at all, kiddo.

  • beach

Charles Woodson became a dedicated football player AFTER he left the Raiders. I think that says a lot about the lack of respect Al Davis gets from the modern players.

  • rob_raider

see-it’s stupidity like that that shows how moronic u r. no one, and i mean no one that has ever met me even for a few minutes has thought that i was anything but very intelligent. so when u say things like that, when i and everyone else here, knows very different, u show that u have nothing of interest to say. has there ever been anyone here that liked u? u obviously like to think ur some sort of smart guy. but yet u spend all ur time on a raiders blog and ur not even a fan. i mean it’s the definition of pathetic.

  • rob_raider

why r u here sullivan? answer u friendless troll.
