McClain is not the player he has been talked up to be. Takes horrible angles and tackles like $hit.
Left side O-line is decent, Right side O-line is garbage.
    D-line is a monster.
    Running game is legit.
Secondary will kill us all year.
    Linebackers are below average.
Receivers are young but are proving themselves to be serviceable.
Ugly win but a win is a win.
Hugh needs to get ahold of this teams emotions and teach them how to play violent in a smart way.
Need to back this win up with a strong performance next week.

Best moment of the night : ( My wife yells at the tv ” Sorry dawg, Kalif Barnes you ARE too fat” ( AFTER running into DMAC IN THE 4th QUARTER-lol)

  • Method To My Madness

SnB….personally I say we should have gave Dmac and Bush the rock more. Left some points on field. I’m sre theyll address that this week

We should enjoy the win tonight because by tomorrow night there will be many of our own fans here telling us why we don’t have much of a chance in Buffalo country, let alone those that are here regularly that aren’t really Raider fans.
    ==================================================
I will be enjoying this win for the week.

Nothing to complain about…obviously things to work on.

This was a turning point win…this was exactly the game this team lost in the past.

Winning by beating up the opponent on defense and making timely plays on offense when it matters (especially when they were struggling) will serve this team well this year…especially road games

I am really pumped up about that defense…I haven’t seen that level of CONSISTENT play for 4 quarters in a long time

He forced the Jacoby ford Fumble on the 1st drive.

    B&uce,

I agree on the running the ball…the key to this offense is to have the run game set up the pass….

How many times did Dawkins had 9 tackles…most of that was tackling DMAC and Bush…..when the safety is that active in the run game….that playaction will eventually get him….

This is still a run 1st offense

  • RaiderRetribution

Raiders allowed only 38 yards rushing!

  • SnB offense defense specialteams

    DMAC 22 carriers

    Bush 9 carries

    They keep up a 2:1 ratio….

That will bode well for the season

    What I saw tonight:

The playcalling was creative in the beginning, but ford had jitters and whiffed on a couple. Hue went to a ground and pound approach. And it worked. Denver looked beat up from the feet after that McFadden (touchdown) run in the fourth.

The D looks viscous up front and, well yes, in coverage. Aside from the end of the game when we were in prevent, they held the Broncos in check. The 30% completion rate wasn’t because Orton and Lloyd(the #1 receiver last year) are awful; it’s because our D was playing that good.

Shonasty’s sack where his helmet flew off was pure perfection. I mean, he hit him so hard his own helmet went flying. Marbles.

DHB came through in the clutch. Nice to see; for his confidence and for this team.

The return TD by Denver should’ve been called back for that block in the back. But the team didn’t let themselves get down.

They also never rescinded the lead once they got it. That’s the biggest stat that stands out right now…

I am just freekin thrilled about that!

I feel like I am watching my son finally go out on his own!!!!!!!

    That’s defense right there……

Longest run was a 10 yard scramble by Orton..who was running for his life

They keep that up…and consistently make it a point to do that….

This will be the NUMBER 1 defense in the NFL this year.

  • Method To My Madness

JC just said he knew coming in game it was gonna be a game manage situation lol…..awesome watching comcast sportsnet

  • RaiderRetribution

Raiders defense had five sacks, 4 by the DL.

  • SnB offense defense specialteams

I will say this…JC didn’t turn the ball over.

    That makes a huge difference

The rest will come with practice

  • SharkCatcher

The RAIDERS have to work on the pass defense. Let’s not forget that the Broncos were picking us apart and driving before the Orton fumble.

  • RaiderRetribution

Mr. Groves had a great game, he made key tackles, forced the fumble by Moreno, solid performance.

He stepped his game up. He was consistent all game.

  • lefty12

SnB-this was a very satisfactory win.We could have played much better, but we pulled it out. That is all that I care about.Next week will be extremely difficult. The NFL made a huge blunder by making us play an away Monday night game and then making us travel to the East coast the following week.I’ve even heard national broadcasters saying we got screwed. If we pull off the upset next week, things will be looking pretty damn good.Go Offense.Go Defense.Go Raiders.

  • Method To My Madness

Number 1 defense? Whewwww let’s chill out on that SnB

  • priesttj

Guys this team can get a lot better they’re just getting their legs back wait until we really get in game shape and start to get our explosion back. And there is no question the absence of Boss was very evident. Myers is a joke tell you the truth I prefer the kid Gordon his size and phsycality is more what I like in a TE. He’s 270 and fastand he’s the bets blocking TE we have.

I don’t know if you guys noticed but DMoore ran several bad patterns tonite making it tough on JC to get him the balll. He may have had the jitters I don’t know but I expect much better next week. And man we need Chaz badly. JC was searching for targets and couldn’t find many he trusted.

I have to also give it up for CJ37 dude can cover and I mean cover he is so much better than what he was when he came here. He and Routt give us two of the most underrated corners in the game. Routt and CJ aint no joke………….period

  • Method To My Madness

Lefty you remember 2-3 months ago I said nfl dogged us on the early week 2 game in Buffalo

  • RaiderRetribution

    Raiders gave up only 1 sack in 23 pass plays [22 + 1]= 4.3%

    Raiders had 5 sacks of Denver’s 51 pass plays [46 + 5] = 9.8%

    not to mention they knocked Orton down many times;

Raiders dominated the line of scrimmage.

    ==========================================
    Nope….of clear mind and spirit.

If the Raiders make it hard to run the ball….they are really tough to deal with…..as long as the D-Line gets rotated and they use Henderson well

I am going to say it…#1 defense in the league.

When you can’t run the ball…everything else falls apart with a good pass rush.

    #1 Defense…..Oakland Raiders

Mix of blitzes, zones, a MLB making calls and adjustments and D-Line that’s abusing people.

    #1 Defense

  • Method To My Madness

We play Buffalo on turf…..our speed is crazy

  • realtruraider

Im sure we are ranked 1st against the run, lets keep it up

  • RaiderRetribution

Mr. Routt & Mr. Johnson did not give up any big pass plays, they had a few catches on them, but when you play solo man to man coverage that is going to happen.

Mr. Giordano was everywhere the ball was tonight, he had an int, a forced fumble [on MacGahee], some key tackles to prevent big scores.

  • Method To My Madness

SnB….im bout to shake….we need consistency and biggest thing of all is we won and stayed healthy….goodnite yall……CODE BLACK 2011…..its our year

  • RaiderRetribution

Raiders #1 defense, you tell them Silver & Black!

  • RaiderRetribution

    new post, finally!

  • weaselbit

I never once felt that donkeys had a chance. 3rd and longs for them all game. If they can cut back on penalties they’ll be fine. This group will only get better. Brilliant play calling. Campbell could work on his deep passing. Nice kick by C-Bass.

  • priesttj

Yeah many were worried about the pass rush but like I said in the preseason it’s very hard to tell what the pass rush will look like because personnel packages will change dramatically in the regseason. This defense can become dominant if the keep attention to detail. You saw tonite what can happen when everyone stays in their gaps and plays discipline and tackles. It makes it very tough for teams to get 1st downs.

  • GoodOle00

Any word on the injury to Seymour?

  • Chef Sac

Looks like Elvis Dumervil(shoulder) and Champ Bailey (left knee) got injured tonight; along with a couple others… Does that count towards the Bully campaign?

  • 2romes

In the age of transparency ESPN did not show the McFadden touch down once!!! What in the world is going on here!!! In the most meaningless games ESPN have showed replays that most NFL fan could care less about but ESPN chooses not to review a highlight reel play.ESPN needs to keep the balance of interest for all NFL fans around the the world and replay pivital plays for all teams and fans to veiw.

  • RaiderSam

CorkOnTheNFL: WR Derek Hagan inactive for tonight’s game. So much for coach Hue Jackson’s boast about performance-based playing time this season. Wow!

Well Hue…what the hell is going on. Where’s your credibility?
    =======================================
It’s called Al Davis pays DHB, so he’s playing, and there going to force him the ball, until he fumbles (which he didnt…and Jacoby Ford , did)
