Raiders coach Hue Jackson not sleeping, thinking about Bills
By Steve Corkran
Tuesday, September 13th, 2011 at 5:40 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Raiders coach Hue Jackson waited one month and one day for his first NFL victory of any kind. That it came in Oakland’s regular-season opener certainly takes away the sting of losing all four exhibition games.
Yet, one could hardly tell that Jackson had just guided the Raiders to their first season-opening victory since 2002, their first win in a Monday night game in eight tries and the first prime-time victory in 12 games.
“I haven’t slept, the (postgame) meal was horrible, I’ve been watching Buffalo, so I don’t feel good right now because (the Bills) beat the team that they played really badly,” Jackson said Tuesday at his weekly news conference. “Right now I’ve got some issues and I have to address them. It will take me probably until Sunday to feel good again.”
*Chief among those issues are:
Reducing the penalties. The Raiders committed 15 infractions for 131 yards in their 23-20 victory over the Denver Broncos on Monday night.
The penalties were of a wide variety, with eight coming on offense, six on defense and one on special teams. The Raiders surged into the lead in defense of the titles they captured last season for leading the league in penalties and yards penalized.
They are four penalties ahead of the co-runners-up and 29 yards ahead of the runner-up 49ers. By comparison, the New York Jets played penalty-free football against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.
“When we get really good, we’re not going to talk about penalties in this room,” Jackson said. “That’s not going to be the issue. … I’ve got to get the curse stopped. Just like we broke the Monday night curse, I’ve got to get this one turned the other way, and that’s going to take time.”
It might take all season, Jackson admitted, but the seemingly never-ending problem will get solved.
“I’m not here to tell you it’s going to stop next week or the week after, but I want you to know and I want our fans to know that we’re working at it,” Jackson said. “I’m not just going to just sweep it under the carpet and say, ‘OK, it is what it is,’ because we won the game. I don’t think that’s right. There’s 15 – too many penalties for this football team. And it starts with me, down through our coaches to our players. We have to get this corrected and we will.”
*Finding some success in the passing game. Quarterback Jason Campbell completed 13 passes against the Broncos. Problem is, those 13 passes netted only 105 yards and only one traveled more than 9 yards beyond the line of scrimmage.
It wasn’t for lack of effort, Jackson said.
“Well, we tried,” Jackson said. “Whether there was a miscue here or a miscue there, it didn’t happen. That’s the truth to the matter. It’s something we’ve got to get better at, there’s no question. We need to get better in that area and we’ll continue to work hard at it.”
*Finding potential replacements for wide receiver Jacoby Ford (hamstring) and free safety Michael Huff (groin).
Both players suffered injuries against the Broncos, and they weren’t able to finish the game. Jackson isn’t sure about the severity of the injuries.
*Jackson can take solace in knowing that Matt Giordano is available if Huff can’t play against the Bills on Sunday.
The seasoned veteran intercepted a pass against the Broncos, forced a fumble and nearly recovered a fumble on another play.
All this despite being waived by the Raiders when the roster was cut down to 53 players, only to be re-signed a few days later.
“The day we cut him, I had a great conversation with him in my office,” Jackson said. “I wasn’t going to be surprised if he showed back up here and neither was he. He told me this was a a place he wanted to be if he could get back.
“I’ve competed against him on other teams. He’s a tremendous football player. When he got cut the numbers just didn’t add up for him. Obviously, after going back through the roster it did. I’m glad to have him back. He made some tremendous football plays, he’s a tremendous football player.”
*The Raiders used running back Darren McFadden in the Wildcat formation on the first play from scrimmage against the Broncos. Don’t be surprised if you see it again this season, Jackson said.
McFadden pitched the ball to Ford, who bobbled the ball before being tackled near the line of scrimmage. That was the end of the experiment Monday.
“We might see a little bit of everything,” Jackson said. “I keep telling you, we’re not going to be a vanilla offensive football team. We’re going to continue to grow and get better.”
*The players were off Tuesday, so there wasn’t any media access. Beat writer Jerry McDonald wasn’t able to make it to the Raiders locker room after the game Monday night because of deadline issues. Therefore, we’re leaning on Jackson today, with a few quotes culled from the Broncos public relations department.
The Raiders return to practice Wednesday morning. Yes, morning. The Raiders play the Bills on Sunday at 1 p.m. EDT, so Jackson is beginning practices at 10 a.m. PDT to correspond with the starting time of the game.
He employed a similar strategy in practice last week, switching to night practices as a means of getting his players accustomed to playing at night.
“I’m going to do everything I can to put this team in the best opportunity to win a game,” Jackson said. “Will we practice in the morning? You better believe we will. And we’ll start early and we’ll prepare ourselves to play at the time we’re going to play in Buffalo. And that’s what we’ll do. And our guys understand it, and they’re looking forward to it.”
*Jackson said he didn’t have an update on the status of tight end Kevin Boss and backup safety Mike Mitchell. Both players missed the Broncos game because of knee injuries.
*Sebastian Janikowski kicked a field goal from 70 yards in pre-game warm-ups Monday night. Based on how he felt, he told Jackson that he felt comfortable from 65 yards in the game.
Jackson said he wasn’t thinking about whether Janikowski would make the 63-yarder he attempted just before halftime.
“I have had people text me, ‘Coach, there was no emotion on your face,’ ” Jackson said. “What for? I knew the guy was going to make it. There’s no doubt. I was thinking what we were going to do at halftime.”
Janikowski said tying or breaking the NFL record — he tied Tom Dempsey and Jason Elam — was one of three goals he had when he entered the league in 2000. Playing for 10 seasons and winning a Super Bowl are the two other goals.
Two down, one to go, he said.
“To be honest, I didn’t hit it that good,” Janikowski said after the game. “It barely got over the bar.”
Campbell said the Raiders weren’t concerned about running the ball so much on the final drive of the half because they were confident that they could get within Janikowski’s range without risking an interception.
“We see that in practice all the time,” Campbell said after the game. “This guy kicks 65-, 70-yard field goals. We knew if we could set him up on the right hash, his preference, it gives him the opportunity to kick that field goal.”
*Credit offensive coordinator Al Saunders for prompting Jackson to throw the red challenge flag on the Broncos fumble that was awarded to the Raiders after a review.
Jackson wasn’t sure whether to throw the flag until a replay surfaced that showed definitive evidence of the ball coming out before the runner’s knee hit the ground.
“The replay wasn’t being shown,” Jackson said. “Then, at the last second, as they were breaking the huddle, and I was starting to sweat a little bit, trying to get this replay because, obviously, we can’t see anything down there, he goes, ‘Hue, the ball’s out, throw it.’ And we worked as a team.”
*Third-year receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey led the Raiders with four receptions for 44 yards Monday night. Several times, he turned third-down plays into first downs.
Jackson said Heyward-Bey is just scratching the surface of what he can do as a receiver.
“No, I don’t think so,” Jackson said, when asked if this was Heyward-Bey’s best game as a pro. “I know we talk about DHB a lot, but DHB made some clutch plays last night. I don’t think it was his best game. I know what you’re thinking, when he caught it and ran with the ball. No, that’s Darrius. Darrius is playing football the way he can play. … I expect more from him. There’s a lot more in there. … He’s truly coming on.”

Steve,
If you see Bresh, tell him to teach his guys how to check a receiver at the LOS, not just turn and put their hand on ‘em.
Thanks.

Evening, Nation.
Hope the penalty issue is what’s bothering Hue. It sure as fk should be. The game could’ve been well in hand without the stupid personal fouls and false starts.

Campbell completed 13 passes against the Broncos. Only one of those was caught more than 9 yards past the line of scrimmage, a 17-yarder to wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey that was caught 16 yards downfield.

Feels good to be 1-0!

I love Hue. I love the fact that he is getting these guys acclimated to playing to The Eastern time zone. Want a freakin novel idea.
Tell you what though Mr. Conservative Campbell better get it together. Captain Checkdown needs to get the ball down the field.
Our defense totally surprised me last night. I give them mad props. I can’t remember the last time I saw our guys tackle so well. Wow. Really solid tackling. Looked like the Dan Ravens out there.
We clean up the dead ball penalties and were going to be a force.
September 13th, 2011 at 5:59 pm
Well, Ryan Fitzpatrick had the game of his life Sunday, a Gradkowski like 74 passer rate QB, blew up for 4 TD’s and a 133 passer rating, Sunday. My, my.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:00 pm
I disagree that we weren’t trying to pass the ball last night.
We came out trying to do what Hue said and make Jacoby Ford a household name. J Ford looked a little shook to start the game. When DMac broke that long 3rd down run early in the game, I think that’s when Hue said eff it and rode that DMac horse.
That and the bad throw from Glo deep to DHB.
“Well, we tried,” Jackson said. “Whether there was a miscue here or a miscue there, it didn’t happen. That’s the truth to the matter. It’s something we’ve got to get better at, there’s no question. We need to get better in that area and we’ll continue to work hard at it.”

Reading some of the comments about Rolando, you guys a some sad dudes.. Breaking it down to him having 1 tackle and not showing up in the run, one would think rolando having no tackles against the run of 37 yards total would acually be a good thing. there were a few open field slips and what not but daymn give the guy a break he was in there barking orders and calling the shots, it was a scrapy wet opening night that we won….But i guess before last year Dmac was labeled a bust on this site, look at you know haha
If anyone left me scratching my head it was 34 Milli Man Stanford Routt
September 13th, 2011 at 6:06 pm
I watched the KC game and I can tell you that Buffalo was not that special. They started 3 of their drives from INSIDE KC’s 25 and several from like their own 40. They had one good drive the whole game. KC was awful and kept turning the ball over deep in their own territory.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:12 pm
I’m glad k.c. got waxed by Buffalo. .. smacked them in the mouth.
. Now I’m sure raiders wont take them lightly. .. were tied for 1st place…. thanks Buffalo. ..but now we have to take you out!”

How many yards did Fitzpatrick pass for?
September 13th, 2011 at 6:14 pm
get hagen in the team.. He gets open !! Meyers really isnt a Ball catcher is he, also
I loved the draw plays for Darren too ..
September 13th, 2011 at 6:14 pm
Jhill I meant throwing to the point where that was the emphasis, we threw it 22 times so it’s obvious we wanted to make big plays in the passing game. I’m saying we were’t trying emphasize the pass why should we have a team that is weak vs the run. We would’ve run a lot more if not for shooting ourselves in the foot a few times. Forcing us to throw.
IMO that should really be a M.O. use the pass for big plays and use the run punish teams.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:18 pm
SaintKaufman I wish you wouldn’t have let the cat out of the bag. I saw how the Bills won the game and KC couldn’t have played a worse. That team (KC) is in trouble their is something going on with that coach I think he has lost that team. I expect him to get fired before the seaosn is over if he can’t get that team motivated to play better than that.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:22 pm
Todd Haley=Egomaniac who needs anger management. After we sweep them this year he will get the axe.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:22 pm
KC left that TE or WR wide open several times. His name is Moore and Johnson who is their best player is very good but he basically is their guy. Fred jackson is a hard worker who’s really short on talent but he runs hard and can make plays. The Bills need to get Spiller going if they want to hang with us. Because if you think DMC had a good day vs the donkeys he may go for 250 vs the Bills. They are horrible vs the run.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:26 pm
IMO weakness last night was captain checkdown offensively. 2nd quarter is prime example. Trips left, play action draw, dhb running seam streak, WIDE OPEN, soupcan dumps it to dmac 6 yard gain, didn’t even look downfield. If he has on player to watch and throw to he throws well, to read a d and find open receiver, forget about it, going to be a checkdown. Good defenses will key on this fact and stop our run game because of it. Defense played BEAST! d line especially, and all groves haters he played well, although the spread offense left us in nickel more with him out of the game. Giordano, really impressed with his play, seems like a FA steal at this point.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:26 pm

Hue admitted it the passing game was off and needs to be worked on just like the penalties!
This is exactly what I told you this morning!
I OWN YOU!

I hope I get to witness that, I got tix for front row behind raider bench! Last time DMAC played BUF it wasn’t so impressive. He’s a diffrent runner now. (healthy)
September 13th, 2011 at 6:30 pm
Rewatching the game right now…Our tackling was incredible besides that punt return..Most solid tackling I have seen from our defense in YEARS!!
If Campbell doesn’t lead DHB out of bounds on that fly route, its not only a touchdown, but its a song of redemption for DHB and Campbell. Campbell reminded me alot of Dilfer actually last night, managing the game, conservative to the point of insanity, no mistakes..
I would like to see JC take a few more chances though, our defense came up huge for us last night. JC needs to make a few more plays with his arm downfield..I loved that pseudo-draw down by the goaline for the first down though, great play.
Is it me or does DHB look REALLY strong once he gets the ball in his hands…He kinda reminds me of Marshall in that regard..now if he can just get a bit more separation and Campbell doesn’t immediately check the ball to Reece or McD..he could start to really come of age..
The fact that we saw nothing from Schillens or Moore says alot about JC…alot that I wont go into right now..
The fact that we saw nothing from Taiwan or Hagan says something about the coaches…alot that I als don’t want to go into..
Ill enjoy the win for sure, but there are a few things that I didn’t like, dead ball penalties aside..
Defense was awesome last night.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:31 pm

I have been arguing this point all day with Mystic
Now we have proof, Hue even said the passing game was not happening, it needs work, yes they did try to throw the ball early and yes I OWN Mysic now!

Wow. I didn’t see the KC game but geez ..starting drives like that …sheez no wonder they blew KC out. And they will be drinking lots of kool-aid to boot.

September 13th, 2011 at 6:37 pm
Give it time MikeG we all saw the same thing it’s no secret…….I saw the time he checked it to Reece when Ford had a post for a TD. It takes time man. His first game and he’ll see the film and make the adjustments because truth be told he has to or he’ll be on another team next year. Hujack is very demanding he may not say so in the media but trust me he and JC watched some film today. All you have to do is read the transcript at the top of the thread.

******************************
BINGO. I’ve been saying this in the preseason. DHB was doing things few WRs with his speed can do. He was muscling defenders in routes. I saw on a crossing route he and Moore ran on a replay vs N.O. It was impressive. He straight muscled through the traffic almost without losing any speed!
September 13th, 2011 at 6:39 pm
Al Saunders and Hue are very very serious about putting together a dominant team when you hav eguys like Ford DHB and Moore beating their man and the ball is not their it’s unacceptable……….period
If JC wants to win a SB he has got to change his ways………..period
September 13th, 2011 at 6:40 pm
I will climb on the JC bandwagon when he starts throwing deep passes and hitting receivers in stride when they have clearly beaten the coverage.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:40 pm
KK
We both knew that they were not only going to start DHB but he was going to play all game.
He got separation last night and the QB missed him, he had a huge RAC to get us a crucial first down. His down filed block was really solid. He was also hard to bring down like someone was saying earlier it was kind of like watching Brandon Marshall.
But he still needs about 3 or 4 100 yard games where he gets 10 grabs to get some love from us or the media and to show us that he can be the guy.
Maybe the several QB’s he has had is part of the problem in his development JC doesn’t seem to throw the deep ball well at times so we may never know.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:40 pm
DHB is dangerous with the ball in his hands. You saw how he was breaking tackles?
September 13th, 2011 at 6:42 pm
Campbell is not a big risk taker, is he?
Does he check it down because nobody’s open, or lack of confidence in the WR? He really needs to put the ball in DHB’s breadbasket to complete the pass.
He looked and looked and pulled the ball down, why?
September 13th, 2011 at 6:42 pm
Terrelle Pryor will watch that stuff and salivate to get in there and next offseason they’ll have an open competition. JC has got to drop those bombs and on target or else.
It really angered me when he threw the ball out of bounds because he is a much better passer than that and I know he is.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:45 pm
Lack of confidence they are open. He’s just been taught to get the sure thing. He has to satrt trusting his weapons because DHB was visibly upset on that play down the right sideline when he beat his man and JC threw the ball away.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:45 pm
Chandler was open all day, Buffalo a scary team, I’m originally from that area and my brother is huge bills fan so I always get the lowdown. Fitz is a GUNSLINGER, and severely underrated, he had Buffalo close in alot if games last year versus better teams, and I think they lost 3 games last year in OT. this year there defense improves w/ Dave Wannstedt as dc. Gonna be a challenge for sure, and buffalo a loud proud rockous crowd. Anyway point of this rambling, the Bills play a wide open offense, 4 and 5 wide on almost every play. Shotgun college type spread o, Denver only success against us was in spread o, several plays started last night w/ Dbs out of position. Buffalo also has hugely underrated wr Corp similar to ours, and 2nd year wr Donald jones is good, missed all last season due to injury. Finally Fitz is mobile, huge test for Raiders D. Running game should be successful against bills d though, so we should ride dmac coattail all game 30 carries would be great gameplan for us
September 13th, 2011 at 6:50 pm
KK
“Campbell is not a big risk taker, is he?”
No he is conservative he doesn’t like to turn the ball over.
Its a combination of things, his comfort level with the plays and the players, people not being open, fear of turnover, and yes sometimes its the game plan. Maybe he doesn’t have an accurate deep ball and he knows it.
As the year progresses and he gets more confident I bet he will throw it deep more often.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:50 pm
Soupcan cut it loose and got wrs involved during preseason, hate to say but I think the only receiver Campbell trusts is Hagan, and we can’t even get him on the game roster.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:51 pm
Just ride the running game DMC doesn’t need 30 carries let Bush beat them boys up some. They have issues stopping the run. yeah he’s a gunslinger and he’s not bad but he’s a long way from Drew Brees and they cannot run the ball so he has to throw. Our front will get a lot of hits on him early if he can take they have a chance if he can’t he’ll take a beating.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:52 pm
I don’t think DHB is a premier receiver but he would look a hell of a lot better with Brady throwing to him.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:55 pm
But he is too afraid to make mistakes in regular season.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:55 pm
666
Yeah, I agree, but I also think he had more confidence in Hagan. Or Chaz.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:56 pm
JC hasn’t played with Hagan much so how’s he the only WR he trust????LOL That’s laughable…
Chaz and DHB and Moore with Hagan is plenty for JC.. Chaz played but wasn’t targeted. Listen I think we’re all getting way ahead of ourselves it was the first game and I think he just wanted to make sure we won I think you’ll see a much better passing game Sunday.
September 13th, 2011 at 6:57 pm
Enjoyed a Raiders victory.
Now, moving on. Concerns:
1 Would like to see more sustained drives chewing up the clock
2 Would like to see JC react to , i.e., Moore beating his man and future plays like that
3 DHB and his basket catches don’t merit #1 on the depth chart. Limits his usefullness if he doesnt catch in traffic and use his hands
4 Raiders looked fired up and energetic and game ready. Though they are not quited polished, their potential is scary.
5 Dmac, Bush and Reese is hella good. Could be the best 1 2 & 3 in the NFL.
6 Raiders must beat the Bills. They need to prove the Bills are a fluke.
7 Defense did better thatn I thought, but the prevent that did not prevent denver from scoring their 2nd TD has got to go. Still I would grade the defense at a solid B.
8 Beechum and his aliases can mack denvers jimmies too, he probably been mackin on them since yesterday. slurp slurp b1tch
September 13th, 2011 at 6:57 pm
jc has to be more confident in himself to throw the ball downfeild…to be a true winner u have to believe in yourself that you WILL win….you have to believe that it is YOU that will take this team to the top..and ive yet to see that attitude..look at the top qbs in the league..they all believe theyre better than the rest…and if campbell can start having that train of thought..the raiders will be that much better.
September 13th, 2011 at 7:00 pm
when u throw the ball downfield to the recievers..not only is the quarterback giving himself more confidence..but hes also giving confidence to the recievers that he believes in them…how are they supposed to feel knowing in a pass play they are only goin to run the pattern and walk back in the huddle…
September 13th, 2011 at 7:01 pm
Bush doesn’t really have a power running style, Dmac much better as number 1 rb and the more carries he gets, the stronger he gets, every run he had last night, it grew closer and closer to him breaking the game winner, and then bam he did. That was similar to Jim last year, he gets stronger as game goes on, bring bush in for cleanup. The commentators also commented a few times about his blitz pickups, he is coming a more all around back
September 13th, 2011 at 7:03 pm
Bush has a lot more power than you think son…DMC doesn’t have Bush’s power not even close.

WTF, what were his yacs? 4 maybe. 4 basket catches does not make a great reciever. I hope he gets better, but lets chill with the man slurp.
September 13th, 2011 at 7:05 pm
How many of our starting wrs practiced in training camp all camp? Yeah I think he did grow comfortable with Hagan in camp! Y laughable? Ford missed all camp, Chaz, 3 of 4 weeks, DHB first two weeks or 3 of camp missed. D Moore and Hagan got tons of practice snaps w/ first team, and Hagan made plays for Campbell, yeah I think he has some trust there, don’t be a dumbass
September 13th, 2011 at 7:06 pm
“666
Yeah, I agree, but I also think he had more confidence in Hagan. Or Chaz.”
Chaz or Murphy would be the ones he might have more confidence in, a guy with hands like Hagan would make me feel good as a QB did you see him in preseason catching balls in traffic.
“I think you’ll see a much better passing game Sunday.”
Says tj and I think so too. I am going to give JC the benefit of opening night loud stadium rain etc and trust that he will lite it up next week.
September 13th, 2011 at 7:08 pm
The only question I have about DMAC: can he stay healthy? I don’t like seeing him pound the middle early in the game. Our OL is not that powerful right now.
September 13th, 2011 at 7:09 pm
Son? I ain’t your son. I know what I’ve watched for 3 years, and who takes people put when he runs, dmac injured several people last year with his running style, finishing the run. Bush does alot of line dancing, instead of hitting the hole hard, once he gets going he hits hard, but he dances to much for a big guy, I love bush cleaning up, and I love him as a player, but he is not Dmac, and never will be.
September 13th, 2011 at 7:13 pm
What I mean by confidence is timing, and a comfort level. Campbell best preseason passing game was NO, and that was with Hagan and D Moore and Dhb as wrs. Timing is very important in passing game. Peyton Manning worst season as pro, he missed all but one week of training camp. Timing is everything
September 13th, 2011 at 7:17 pm
Fitzgerald is not that great! Yes he had a good game but go back and watch his throws. He targets one receiver. Looks at him the whole time. KC just didn’t pick up on it. Fitzgerald rarely checks down to any other rec. He looks at first option the whole time!
September 13th, 2011 at 7:21 pm
I watched Fitz several games, he is not great but he is a gamer, and that offense is dangerous. He is also mobile. He is and the bills will be a much more difficult game than people expect. Canadian Raider, I agree, got to allow wrs to gain confidence, also you can’t get pass interference calls I’d you never take chances down the field in one on one coverage

Hey guys anybody know hat type of D the Bills run? is it a 3-4? or a 4-3?
September 13th, 2011 at 7:27 pm
Wasn’t pretty but we won! Fkn Bronco fans looked like they were going to cry. I started some Tebow chants in section 510 early in the game.
Thank god for McFadden!
September 13th, 2011 at 7:37 pm
The Bills run a 3-4. Kyle Williams in the middle, they just drafted Marcell Dareus 2nd or 3rd overall to play end. The LB corp is a little suspect for the 3-4. Also, losing SS Donte Whitmer to the Whiners has got to hurt them.
September 13th, 2011 at 7:45 pm
Thank god for McFadden is right. Bills run both 4-3 and 3-4. They haven’t settled on either, but more 3-4
September 13th, 2011 at 7:47 pm
Nice work Dakota way to divide the fan base.
It sure does feel good to win on opening week.

HA HA Mystic!
I OWN YOU!
“Quarterback Jason Campbell completed 13 passes against the Broncos.
We need to get better in that area and we’ll continue to work hard at it.””
Hue admitted it the passing game was off and needs to be worked on just like the penalties!
This is exactly what I told you this morning!
I OWN YOU!
===================================
S&B – You will learn to ignore Mistic, as many of us here already do. Hue Jack said it right there for all to digest. Yet this JC cheerleading psycho will continue to praise him as an all-pro.
I’ve said it many times. JC can’t carry this team. If this team goes anywhere, it’ll be on the shoulders of Dmac & Company.
Hue does an admirable job of protecting JC but I’m afraid we don’t have the right QB to take advantage of the talent and speed of our receivers.
Not that JC is bad. I’ll take him any day and 100 times on Sunday over that colossal bust we had here. Just that he’s not great either. He is what he is. Been in the league for some time now and will always be average.
If I could equate it to real life, it’d be like the girl you brought home when you were a dating teenager and your parents said ‘Oh, well she seems like a nice girl’ instead of getting a ‘way to go, son!’ from your pops. lol

September 13th, 2011 at 8:08 pm
There was some good. D played pretty darn well. OLine played well. DHB played well. DMAC was dominant. SeaBass was just STUDLY. LBs were pretty good, line great. DBs not bad at all.
Hue’s play calling was WAY too cute to start the game. Lame. Better to start the game with a few punches to the mouth, than silly trickery and complexity the fellas clearly were not quite up for just yet. Rookie coach.
Soup was fairly terrible. Definitely not good. If that guy doesn’t get better/step up we’re gunna be mediocre at best. Guy misses way too many obvious 1on1s and checks down when a big play is jumping up and down calling for the ball. Weak Soup.
Lots of stupid plays/penalties. Maybe just first game jitters but unacceptable at best.
Officiating was amateur. Rank. Only Kyle Orton had a worse performance than the zebras. Maybe.
September 13th, 2011 at 8:08 pm
The passing game was otherwise not sharp, and Heyward-Bey’s catches saved Jackson some second-guessing for making Derek Hagan inactive before the game. Hagan led the team in receiving yards during the preseason.

@72 I thought the same thing when he hit it. Didn’t get all of that one. Like a Barry Bonds swing. Only needs to get most of it. I am waiting for the day he smacks one for 69yrds off the in field dirt at the Coli. They can take that record off the achievable list when that day comes….
September 13th, 2011 at 8:15 pm
Bully for DHB. Hope he takes this and builds on it. Hagan inactive? Lame. Rookie coach move.
Soup better get his act together or he’s going to be looking over his shoulder again on week 6.
Wildcat on the first series?!?!? Dude, how about 10 straight DMAC runs right up the gut? With a few pounds of the Bush in between. Then a play action bomb. But a reverse to start?!? What is this freshman high school?
September 13th, 2011 at 8:16 pm
Raiders beat useless excuse of a football team the bronco-hos’ like I knew we would. The bronco-hos’ suck and I told you they will not win a game this year. They are the new rank team of wanna bes.
All I heard on talk radio today was how bad bronco-hos’ fans were for chanting T-bow. NOTHING about how the Raiders wiped the bronco-hos’ ass all over invesco or whatever the name of that dump is. NOTHING. Just the messed up chanting calling for T-bow. Pathetic excuse for a team.
Did Elway lose it today? Did Bowlen implode? And how did Tom Jackson fell today? These are things I want to know, only second to the fact I already know the Raiders beat the snot outta the bronco-hos’.
September 13th, 2011 at 8:18 pm
While Im in the belief Dmac/Bush shouuld be our main focus of the offense….I find it absurd how you diss JC as if he isnt capable. He is above average as a qb certainly not a pro bowler but we can win games with him passing it up the field. We game managed for the most part. I agree about 3-4 throws werent acceptable last night but he battled and fought to end
September 13th, 2011 at 8:19 pm
@83 I agree with u and that’s why its so damn crazy…cuz we KNOW he can break the record! In the meantime, until someone does better at Mile High, Jano will be (forever?) linked to that stadium. For all the Donkey fans that’s GOTTA bite! =)

Eric Pears is the Buffalo RT? Some of their young receivers stepped up. We better be disciplined in our pas rush. They generate outside running lanes by encouraging the edge rushers into vacating the LOS.
Their Dline can be a problem. Williams, albeit undersized is All-Pro. Darius can be a force in the run. Kelsey is now an OLB/Edge rusher. However, their “D” offered nothing special. However, they play disciplined football, which I hope rubs off on the Raiders. . .without a starting corner & starting Wr; about the same shape as the Raiders injury wise. . .

I see a repeat on the defensive next week. Keep Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller in check…force obvious passing situation…then get after the QB.
Secondary is fairly tight in coverage…had the INT fumble recover…another forced fumble and two near picks….
This defense, if they stay healthy…will be one of the best this year. Period. They are physical..no undersized lineman to try and stop the run….big doses of John Henderson.
The Raiders will be in EVERY game this year! Including the next 3…
The AFC East will find out what football is all about

We missed MM34 last night. Couldn’t cover their TEs to save a drive. Hope they tighten that up this week.
B@uce, Hue had this problem a few times last year where I wasn’t too jazzed on his playcall game. But it was his first game as a HC at any level so I’ll cut some slack and give him time.

September 13th, 2011 at 9:07 pm
Great Raider Victory, with improvement going forward.
I read most of the comments today. I have found the serious Raider Nation members, are cautious yet very optimistic.
Penaltys, concern us, but the pre snap penaltys are just lack of concentration, that can be corrected with out lack of agression, just detail work on the fundamentals of the situation and game.
I was wondering when someone was going to mention the multiple offense, the Raider offense used last night and in the upcoming weeks.
Al Saunders, didn’t just wake up yesterday and know offensive football. Hugh and Saunders will create mis matches on every opponent we play. There were packages that had run all over them yet, pass plays were called. The power of six lineman was striking that neither side of the line is either strong or weak.
This will open up less, defensive hot pursuit, due to having to play and stay in the gap. This will enable DMAC or Bush less people in the lanes and better cutback opportunities in the coming weeks.
The power formation also allows the blitz pick up and more time for the WR’S to get down the field to the open zones or windows, depending on the defense that the opponent play.
Overall the movement on offense was great, but must get better, on the execuation part to be a great passing team.
Let me ask any of you, when was the last time the Raider offense had so many people in pre snap motion and movement before the snap.
Until the passing game, and timing get going, pound the ball and utilize our best weapons, DMAC and Bush.
Wiz, 2.0 played well, he will get better, and played real tough last night.
Heyer is a beast, and will get better and hopefully his pre snap penaltys will end.
Raiders better cough up the money to Houston and Shaghnessey, they are improved from last season and will be impact players in the league.
Buffalo, this sunday, just run at them and have them prove they can stop the run.
KC last week, abandoned the run with Buffalo defense of 8 men in the box. Hugh needs to be patient and not give in to the pass, pound away.
A 2-0 start is what the organization needs, and who knows what happens in the following weeks.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:08 pm
We have the best running back duo in the NFL. Those of you who wanted to trade Michael Bush will shut up now. My biggest issue last night is that only 5 guys caught passes from Campbell. I didn’t even notice Schilens last night. You have to spread the ball around. 8 or 9 guys are catching balls from the best teams in the league. I really hope that Ford and Huff and Boss are not badly injured. The injury bug has to stay away from these guys. We have hope in 2011.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:08 pm
It’s going to be interesting to see how the WR rotation shakes out with Ford o the shelf.
I thought we tried to do too much with Ford right off the bat, and I guess Ford thought so to. Like a lot of us have been saying all along, Ford is a gawd damn slot WR. Let it come to him naturally instead of trying to “make him a household name”.
I think Moore is going to get Ford’s snaps. Hagan is going to have a tough time getting on the field in front of Chaz and DHB. Miller is probably going to get a shot at the slot WR position behind Moore.
Ineteresting how Chaz was not targeted much. Didn’t appear to be open, but I could be wrong.

maybe this past week, but not throughout their careers. moreno was getting hype b/c he was having a great preseason and his teammates were all saying he was gonna have a big season. mcgahee has had an up and down career but has been pretty good mostly. jackson’s underrated but not special. and spiller is mediocre. i have a feeling the raiders run defense has arrived. i think they stifled the denver running game and will do so to the bills as well. the LB’s have improved incredibly since the first preseason game. they don’t even look like the same guys. groves has improved leaps and bounds. i’m stunned by it. and the front four is fantastic.
the only thing that worries me a little about the bills is they can chuck it a little bit and the whole east coast early game on a short week that shouldn’t really matter but many times does.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:15 pm
Priest I dont know who annointed you the all knowledgeable Raiders blogger, but campbell was not comfortable last night w/ wrs and has never been comfortable with our wideouts, or a better word “confident” as spoke above. If so then our wideouts would have actually had some receptions last year and not just the backs and z miller. as for bush/McFadden find me five fans in here that would rather see Bush “dancing power running” Get more carries than Run DMC and they’ll be five other people that know nothing about football. Great backup rb, I don’t know who squats more or is more “powerful” but McFadden hits line and holes harder and faster and breaks more tackles than bush. PERIOD!

Lofty I hope that “C” was not for the position as Mr. Satele, Mr. Carlisle, and Mr. Vehldeer had excellent, penalty free games.
In fact I even noticed Cooper getting on Mr. Heyer’s case after the sack the line gave up, that never happened again.
Mr. Wisniewski, Mr. Barnes, and Mr. Heyer for the most part did have a great game blocking.
This was the first this unit was together, and they dominated the speed rushers, as well as remained healthy!
Hopefully Mr. Bruce Campbell will be activated this week, to prove he can dominate the trenches!
September 13th, 2011 at 9:18 pm
Ok, so did I come the closest to predicting the score last night or what??? Does anyone know? I said OAK 23 DEN 21.
Here’s my pred for the season, updated after week 1:
1 9/12 @ Den W 23-20
2 9/18 @ Buf L
3 9/25 vs. NYJ L
4 10/2 vs. NE L
5 10/9 @ Hou W
6 10/16 vs. Cle W
7 10/23 vs. KC W
8 Bye Week
9 11/6 vs. Den W
10 11/10 @ SD L
11 11/20 @ Min W
12 11/27 vs. Chi L
13 12/4 @ Mia W
14 12/11 @ GB L
15 12/18 vs. Det W
16 12/24 @ KC W
17 1/1 vs. SD W
10-6. But the Detroit game might be a loss. Either way we make the playoffs by beating SD on the last game of the season.
Sucks about Ford and Huff, but after watching Giordano play, I think we might have found a player there. It’s only one game, but he had a big impact. Plus that INT he got was just amazing. He flew like superman on that one.
Plus let’s not forget that even though both our top receivers from last year are out, we have some very interesting prospects on Hagan and Moore. Who most likely will be activated this week and play quiet a bit. The WRs this week will be DHB, Chaz, Moore, Hagan, Miller. This is the time for all of these guys to step up and prove to everyone that they can be counted on. That is of course given we actually pass the darn ball.
Dmac is still good, Bush is still good, and don’t forget the ferrari we have in the garage. Taiwan Jones.
So, all that said, I hope I am wrong in my pred of a loss, but if we do lose, here’s the score I think, OAK 17 BUF 24.
If I’m wrong, and I hope I am, then the score will be reversed, OAK 24 BUF 17.
GO RAIDERS!
Oh, and for the record, I thought that Campbell did ok this game. Not great or anything special, but ok. He has until week 6 with me to show me if he is a keeper or not.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:20 pm
that doesn’t mean he’s more comfortable with Hagan we don’t know who he’s more comfortable with. He has stated twice that he wishes HIS GUYS would get healthybecause they worked all offseason the only guys he worked with in the offseason were DHB Ford and Murphy. Get it!
Those are the guys HE SAID he’s more comfortable with………….period

Rob, sounds like you agree that Fred Jackson today, he of the 1,000 yard season 2 years ago and 900 yards last year (while splitting time with Lynch and CJ),
is better than both Moreno and McGahee nowadays.
Bills rushing attack is quite better than Denver’s.

I am watching it again, I am very impressed with Veldheer. The guy is solid, has good technique and quick for a big guy.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:21 pm
I would like to see Hue run more 3-4 WR sets w/o a TE, thereby forcing Mr. Jason Campbell to have to throw to a WR.
He went to Mr. Meyers way too many times, even when Brandon had tight coverage.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:22 pm
On another note, I thought Hue’s play calling was a little exotic. Which if done in moderation could be a good thing, but I think he over did it a bit last night. I don’t know, maybe this was his game plan for the Donks, and this Sunday he will be a bit more conservative. Maybe that is his plan, Buffalo will be expecting all these crazy plays, when in fact he will be calling more normal pass plays than reverses and trick plays. We’ll see I guess…
September 13th, 2011 at 9:22 pm
Man, when Bush was dogging it I really wished the threw in T. Jones for a change up.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:23 pm
Beach it’s blatantly obvious what he means to this team from a coaching standpoint yet we have these guys who think THEY know more than the coaches and the owner. They don’t put him in short yardage and goaline becuase he’s cute.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:23 pm
Raider Dell, great observation, and I love all the motion on offense. Can’t wait to watch this offense grow and I hope JC starts to cut it loose again as he did in preseason. The offense will really be tough to stop once the ball is spread around finding the weakness in the defense due to the matchups the motion creates. I think the sky is the limit, but the offense success is on JC shoulders, there are pieces in place he needs to take advantage and make the most of this opportunity.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:25 pm

September 13th, 2011 at 9:27 pm
It’s not Buffalo’s RBs we need to be concerned about, it is their offensive line.
Raiders DL will once again need to dominate to stop the run.
I called for 7 sacks of Orton, if Denver had not held so much (and the raiders had not committed so many penalties themselves), Raiders would have had 10 sacks.
Raiders defensive line literally shoved Denver’s OL into Orton, even when they didn’t get the sack.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:27 pm
The main bummer on Hue’s playcalling was the 3 straight passes starting with 1st and goal at the 7. Odd. FG.
Outside of that, he was aggressive at times, went for big throws (but JC got rid of things too quick and missed some open guys), and ran the ball like a bully should.

That’s what I want to hear from Huey Corky!
Yeah baby yeah! They need to get their collective azzes up early all week to prep for an East Coast game!

How’d our preseason rushing o look w/ Bush as feature back? How’d he look in SF last year, he’s good to spell McFadden and I’m happy he’s a Raider, bit I won’t anoint him an obvious #1 rb in half the league. Our rushing game and offense struggles when he is feature back and McFadden is injured. I’m not exactly sure what were arguing here, I think Bush is great for team, but not better than dmac. Period.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:32 pm
The one thing I noticed about the Raiders OLine, is that the tackles were moved around quite a bit in the six man fronts.
I think all three, Barnes, Heyer, and Vehldeer, in six man fronts played both left and RT as well as an eligible reciever.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:33 pm
We need Kevin Boss! Get on the practice field, man. The team needs you this Sunday! I think Al Saunders isn’t getting the credit he deserves for the red flag on the fumble. Denver was going to snap that ball really quickly and Al jumped on it right away! Hue and Al Saunders know football!

Mr. Gordon played really well, he made some key blocks.
Mr. Meyers missed one really bad that gave Denver a run stuff.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:36 pm
NC, nothing to argue about. Dmac is # 1, but they go hand in hand. You don’t want Dmac to carry it too many times, and Bush complements him beautifully. Dmac tires the defense, and Michael Bush finishes them off!
September 13th, 2011 at 9:37 pm
DMAC and BUSH should be the best tandem in the league by far this season…actually we should have the best trio with the rookie getting in eventually. Bush is dope.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:37 pm
Anyone else notice the compliments and belief in the talent that Al has put together on this team, by T Dilfer? Seems the league is on notice if we just cleanup the penalties and the fundamentals. Pumped for the season. Raiders 30 bills 17. D line to much for bills to handle and Fitz gets hit A LOT! D Moore has breakout game. McFadden 125 rushing 60 receiving.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:38 pm
I believe with Ford having a hammy issue…Hagan may get on the field. I’m it changes offensively what we can do i n the passing game.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:39 pm
This was Mr. Chris Johnson’s first game, he was rusty a little, but kept everything in front of him, he did not give up any big plays.
Raiders basically shut out Denver’s offense in the 1st half, there FG was only because the Raiders fumbled our first scrimmage play.
Denver only had one drive for a TD, that’s it.
Raiders played great defense, they had 3 turnovers, held Denver to 38 yards rushing and had 5 sacks!
September 13th, 2011 at 9:39 pm
Bush?
at SF: 20 carries, 47 yards
at Den: 15 ca. 52 yards (3.2 avg)
at SD: 23 carries, 95 yards
vs Den: 12 carries, 24 yards.
He’s not exactly automatic as a feature guy.
I agree with Raidersfannc. He’s a top #2 to rotate with someone. Not a feature back. No better than Mike Tolbert in SD.

Totally agree. I would like to see for the first four weeks, depending on the game score and field position, the Raider offense run the ball 30-35 times and pass 20-25 times. That formula is a winning record based on this season so far and last season majority of wins.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:40 pm
Brian Dawkins, all 36 years of him, was the best tackler on the field last night. Impressive.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:43 pm
Buffalo’s backup CB, Terrence McGee is probably out for this Sunday.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:44 pm
Bush also doesn’t fumble, one if his greatest attributes! 2 fumble in 385 carries over his career, that I love about Bush, I would like to see him dance a little less is all. Can’t wait to see T Jones on some carries this season soon!
September 13th, 2011 at 9:45 pm
Brian Dawkins was a beast, Raiders blow out Denver if not for Dawkins.
Dumerville was completely nuetralized by Mr. Vehldeer & the rest of the OLine.
Von had a few plays early, but then was irrelevant the rest of the game.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:45 pm
Bush was good in that KC game last year.
Anyone else feel Routt will get the Aso treatment? He’ll probalby get a lot less targets than dvd, the lbs, huff, and CJ.
I thought Routt played great yesterday and thought that one PI (3rd or 4th quarter) was bs.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:47 pm
Thanks Alex, was looking for some stats. He does have a career per carry avg. Of 4.4, which is very impressive for a big back.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:49 pm
I thought Routt, cj, and DVD, yes DVD played well yesterday, thought DVD penalty on punt receiving was bs as well. If Routt and CJ stay healthy I think were ok. Don’t like seeing porter out there though.

September 13th, 2011 at 9:50 pm
backup CB or #2 cb?
Series of the game, I hadn’t given enough credit to:
late 3rd quarter, Denver drives inside the Raiders 10, score Oak. 16, Den 10. 2 yard run, incomplete pass, sack, FG.
Oak keeps the lead, avoids the blown-lead choke pressure, and gets points on the next series.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:51 pm
I could see Mr. Independence playing against Buffalo;
three reasons, in my humble opinion, why Taiwan probably was not activated against Denver [in order]:
1) Mr. McFadden owns Denver’s defense;
2) Mr. Jones’ foot injury, since we have another one of the best RBs in the NFL in Mr. Bush, and Mr. Cartwright is an excellent special teams player, you noticed he did not allow Denver to even come close to returning any more punts for positive yards;
3) Denver’s primary asset on defense was the speed of their LBs, which could have possibly neutralized Taiwan’s speed somewhat.
Buffalo’s LBs are not nearly as fast as Denvers. Buffalo held Kansas City run game in check, but KC does not have that big W guy coordinating their offense and it showed.
September 13th, 2011 at 9:51 pm
see ya nc.
Yeah, Bush’s ypc is very good, but I wonder if it’s helped by the 11 carries vs mostly tired defense routine.
Was awesome watching him roll 4th quarter though!

JC still stares down his primary reciever. Thats got to stop. He needs to see the entire field, or stare off his primary. If he can do that, he will be great because he has the WRs’. This team is legit.

September 13th, 2011 at 9:59 pm
People are too caught up in the yardage stat. 2 tds zero turnovers & the win, those stats far out weigh yardage. Orrin threw for over 300 and to what end?
Every qb misses throws throughout the course of a game, in every game, JC is no different in that regard. Campbell has been completing long passes his entire career. We witnessed it last hear & we will see it this year. No néed to over react a’s if he is incapable completing the deep pass.
No one has ever made the claim that JC doesn’t need to improve, that is the goal of every player not named jamarcuss.
I saw 3 plays I’m sure he would want back, but over it all he avoided big mistakes & kept us in position to win. Even if a few passes were off target, or he missed an open route, he won the game and was solid.
The passing game is light years ahead of where it was at any time last year.
September 13th, 2011 at 10:02 pm
sigh.
Campbell statistically, for his entire career, has been one of the worst QBs at completing passes that travel further than 10 yards.
That’s proven. He has a below average to terrible deep ball.
That lack of talent keeps him locked in the 15 to 25 QB rating range year in and year out, and has led to his career losing record.
He’s a little below average. It’s not even debatable.
September 13th, 2011 at 10:03 pm
Gotta give one more player some love M Reece finally showed his improvement as a blocker last night and it wouldn’t be fair not to give him some love on this post. His talent as receiver out of backfield and matchup trouble he has always created could never be argued but his blocking in Denver can’t go unnoticed! Nice work! The ONLY NATION thru and thru!
September 13th, 2011 at 10:03 pm
McFadden has to be moving up the list of 20 or more yards per run from scrimage. Anyone have anything on that?
September 13th, 2011 at 10:04 pm
But we’re 1 and 0, so it’ll get overlooked for awhile, at least until a team like the Jets, Packers, Patriots, Bears, and Vikings stack the box with a talented front 8 and expose it.
Has happened every year from 2005 to 2010.

Raiders are going to go to buffalo and eat the bills lunch. They are going to bend them over and pound it home. Bank it.
Four time Super Bowl loser bills will see what a flash in the pan they really are. They ran the score up on one of the most putrid and pathetic teams in the NFL last Sunday, the KC has been chiefs. BFD
Raiders are gonna show them who the new bully on the block is. The bills can lay down anytime they want, but they will have no choice next Sunday when Oakland comes to town. Oakland is gonna put the bills on all fours and teach them how to be someones b1tch, and the bills will like it, just like denver did.
Raiders gonna lay the wood on them, humiliate them in front of their home crowd, and then p!ss on them when they are on the ground.
Al Davis will be delighting in the massacre. All will be forgotten of past sufferings next Sunday as Al goes back east to suck the life right of that joke of a team, the four time loser in the super bowl bills.
Buffalo can start eating their buffalo nuts now cause they won’t feel like eating when the Raiders get done teaching them how to take it like a man, bump and grind style.
Al Davis can flip them the bird as he walks triumphantly out of the stadium and into his limo that awaits to take him to his private jet.

Raiders Finally Matter Again
I know you east coasters didn’t see it. And you mid-westerners probably missed it too. But take it from those holding down the west coast…Raiders v. Broncos was mean. Don’t get me wrong: it was ugly. And drenched. And there were 5 times as many penalties as there were explosive plays. But it was bad. And it was awesome. It was the street fight the Ravens v. Steelers was supposed to be. And let me say something they I haven’t said in a long, long time. I like the Raiders. I’m not saying I like them to win the AFC West, but I am saying they will be a factor and they’re going to have a look at the postseason.
And while they may never get a handle on that discipline thing, they do play hard. Especially up front defensively. They laid a beating on Kyle Orton last night. And they do what every coach on the planet is looking to do: they run the ball and they stop the run. Last night, the Raiders’ idea of going “vuh-tial” was slamming Darren McFadden straight up the gut. And it worked. McFadden has finally become the bona fide stud he was projected to be coming out of Arkansas. Jason Campbell, of all guys has given them stability at quarterback, they’re knocking suckers out defensively and Hue Jackson is dialing up all the right play calls and pushing the right buttons… What I’m saying is, the Raiders finally matter again, the world is better for it and if they continue to ball up like that, we might even let them back into Los Angeles.
-Jim Rome.

Buffalo defeated Kansas City because:
KC fumled the opening KOR, Buffalo scored a TD in few plays;
KC had two 3 & out, and only one 4 play drive in the 1st qtr;
Kansas City ran the ball only 18 times, even though they averaged 6.0 yards rushing against the worst defense against the run last year;
Kansas City quit in the second half.

Mistic1 I agree JC has all the tools, he just at times wants to make sure we’re not wasting plays. Unlike Brees and Manning and Brady who have been in systems for many years. He adjusting and I know it’s a bit frustrating for me as well. But these WR’s are very young and they’ve only been together a year. Most in here want him to do what those guys can do not respecting the fact they have all the advantages.
JC is extremely talented and over the next few years they’ll see him grow as well it doesn’t happen over night no matter how badly we want it to. It takes time if he starts chucking the ball downfield with no results and int’s they’ll say he sucks. Fans cannot be satisfied, some refuse to be.
I look forward to when they all are on the same page and he’s more comfortable and confident in positive results whe he does throw deep.
No QB in the history of the game has better stats when they throw deep over throwing short and intermediate passes. But these jokers in here want to act like he’s the only one. The deep pass is a low % pass always has been always will be………….period

Joker,Sully,Alex,What was the QB rating of Jim Plunkett when he came to the RAIDERS?Yea,not pretty, but TWO Super Bowls, know what Im sayin?
………
Did you know that both seasons Plunkett won the Super Bowl, he wasn’t Al’s starter? If it were up to Al, Pastorini and Mark Wilson would be our QBs those to respective seasons. Glad they got hurt. But if Al had it his way…
September 13th, 2011 at 10:27 pm
Gannon couldn’t throw deep worth beans but he was an outstanding QB and won a MVP and took us to the SB. He drove me crazy with his underneath stuff and checkdowns but he went to 3 straight probowls. It works folks!!
September 13th, 2011 at 10:30 pm
Buffalo does play a 3-4 defense, all of 6 of their DLs are 301-346 lbs.
Denver’s DL (4-3) 260-316 lbs, most under 300.
Raiders will run all over, past, and through Buffalo!
September 13th, 2011 at 10:31 pm
Yea Alex…
You know.. I find it hilarious how another rookie qb from. Auburn. .who has no previous NFL experience can throw for over 400 yrds in his first ever game….LOL.. wish we had cam.. don’t you??
September 13th, 2011 at 10:32 pm
Priesttj,
after whiffing on DMac, Jamarcus, DHB, and soon Pryor (as good as CAM lol), just quit the player-analysis business. Stick to telling us how Al is making all the right moves and how his way will work some day.
Campbell is not “excellent” at any single QB stat. Not wins, not TDs, not yards, not avoiding sacks, not avoiding fumbles. He’s below average to average in all of those.
Just admit it and move on. Quit being wrong on so many guys.

Quite true I must say. And add to the facts that he had a play caller who was not only in tune with who he was, but disigned those ‘underneath stuff’ plays to fit the qb he was in tune with. The right hand must know what the left hand is doing at all times. There is no other way around it. Bingo.
September 13th, 2011 at 10:32 pm
Mr. Schilens was not running like he was a 100%
in fact other than Mr. Ford & Mr. Heyward-Bey, the Feds could have put out an apb on Raiders wideouts, they were missing in action.
September 13th, 2011 at 10:33 pm
“The stat column is a bit misleading in that it says the Chiefs has 6 YPC, but this was largely based off of one 22 yard run. Still Charles only had 10 touches.”
This came from a bills fan on a raiders forums who likes the bills but has the Raiders as his 2nd favorite team
September 13th, 2011 at 10:33 pm
Duh the deep pass is a low % pass.
Some QBs are STILL better at it than others.
When you analyze it statistically, Jason is one of the absolute worst in the NFL, year in and year out.
September 13th, 2011 at 10:34 pm
Ghost & Alex
I give you one name:
Steve Smith who is one of the best WRs in the game.
September 13th, 2011 at 10:35 pm
Hey Raider Fans. Beautiful sight last night huh? I was wondering if anyone else noticed that the three other teams that played on Monday Night all get home games in the afternoon next week. Meanwhile, we have to fly cross-country and play at 10:00 am local time. Damn.
September 13th, 2011 at 10:37 pm
It’s just too bad HueJax & Campbell have to be saddled with DHB.
September 13th, 2011 at 10:39 pm
lol @ steel ball sack aka Priesttj
Yes. Let’s compare Jason to Gannon.
Good call!
Being as only one has made the playoffs, made the pro bowl, been an MVP, had a winning career record, was known for his leadership and smarts, has thrown for over 20 TDs at some point, did NOT lead the league in sacks taken…
Awesome comparison, dude!
September 13th, 2011 at 10:40 pm
take out the one carry for 22 yards
leaves 86 yards on 17 rushing attempts
that is still 5.0 yards a carry
Raiders are going to run through Buffalo, run past Buffalo, run over Buffalo, run around Buffalo!
Guy, you have made good points in the past, but you andd your fan/friend of Buffalo need to do the math!
September 13th, 2011 at 10:40 pm
Yeah I’m wrong on DMC and DHB and Pryor let you tell it………..LOL
yeah yeah yeah he’s the worst…..Blah blah blah!!
Yet your he beat out boy Bruce didn’t he? whom you worship…
DHB is doing exactly what I said DMC is better than amost people thought. I always loved DMC couldn’t wait to see him get healthy because we needed him to be good if we were going to be good. And Pryor is going to be a player “Oh woe is me boy”………check into your other personality maybe then you can make some sense.
Bye Y’all the real Raiders
September 13th, 2011 at 10:40 pm
RR,
as far as receivers we should trade for? Or what?
September 13th, 2011 at 10:40 pm
That’s right… and guess what… Steve Smith had a big smile on his face after a loss… guess why??? Because he knows he finally has a good qb throwing to him again… … Smith was impressed with cam Newton for feeling bad for dealing with his first loss…. if I were Smith. .I would be happy as well…. even after a loss. .
September 13th, 2011 at 10:40 pm
Conspiracy theorists might say the league schedulers have it in for the Raiders:
-Opening night MNF on the road against a team that never loses home opener. Then…
-West Coast team forced to travel cross country on short week, making only “easy” game a hard one after all.
-Home opener against AFC powerhouse then another AFC powerhouse back to back to negate any home field “advantage” by playing the two teams who can negate such an advantage.
I’m not big conspiracy theorist, but this schedule is as hard as can be. At least first 4 weeks, of which if they were to lose all four the season is over of course.
Great first step.

Mr. Jackson, if I recall correctly had a winning record last year of 7-5 for the Raiders.
He is now 8-5 as a Raider!

WELP……I took Marcus Allen and ruined him too, prune wings offa butterflies to show em what I do,
Course back then I was totally insane but a genius too, now I am jus stanky AL, your all totally screwed…..
So after the move to S.Californaya…..lawsuit business was the one that really paid, made so much money I could do what I pleased, after Plunk retired I collected QB’s…..
Just Die BABY!!
There was Wilson, Schroeder, Hilger too, Evans, Beuerlein, Marinovich Boo (high as a kite but kinda cute), George n Hostetler n Billy Joe Hobert, didn’t care since I was taken little snerts…
There was Mirer, Gannon, Tuiasosopo – hadda get rid a Rich since he knew me through and through…..Walter, Brooks (drove him to drugs), Culpepper, Purple Drank n all the above.
Along with the QB’s, collected coaches too, could only hire dummies – no one could save – give em their walkin papers, not even paid.
So now you know a little bout this stanky old sweat, will ruin and sit the great ones while I play my pets, n you caint touch me without gettin shot, I’ll slap you around till your green like my snot…..
Just Die Baby !!! I out

Whoever made that comment a few articles back about how McFadden reminds of OJ Simpson, was spot-on. I hadn’t thought of that all these years we’ve had Dmac until they mentioned it post-game.
Great call.
I also believe Dmac can hit 2,000 if he stays healthy. He’s come good for sure after those turf toe injuries quickly ruined his first couple years after that initial big rookie game against KC.

I think we’ve seen who the real “Chefs” are… I thought they played over their heads most of last season…..and I believe the Bills played one of those games where everything goes their way…. they have the hot hand after 1 good game? i think sunday’s game says more about the chiefs than it does the bills. the bills were 4-12 last year. statistically they didn’t do all that much against the chiefs, so it’s not like they’re great suddenly. u are just being u. u wouldn’t pick the raiders, ever. so u have no integrity.
September 14th, 2011 at 5:36 am
i re-watched the game, like i always do. i watched every play about 10 times, watching every player. here’s the review:
o-line:
there are 3 good players here. for all u cooper-bashers, just shut it b/c ur showing ur ignorance. the guy is a technician. a pro’s pro. he’s undoubtedly our best lineman. not a mauler, but his man almost never makes the play. he scraps and scraps, leads his man away from the play, etc. grades out very high, 90% plus.
veldheer is very good. occasionally makes a mistake but for the most part locks onto his man and takes care of business.
wiz is pretty good. makes some rookie mistakes but he’s tenacious and gets after it. locks on and works. a poor man’s version of his uncle at this point but he’s good.
barnes did okay. some mistakes and doesn’t always make the block but pretty good.
heyer is hit and miss. just okay really.
satele is awful. occasionally will make a nice play but way too often whiffs. he loves to dive for a cut block when he should go lock on. he is the weak link.
rb:
dmc is fantastic. period. bush is very good. i don’t care if some announcer says reece is a good blocker, he’s horrible at it. just goes and reaches out to push. never locks on his man. blocks like a former wr.
wr:
jacoby apparently was rusty/nervous. but he will be in the gameplan in a lot of ways. dhb has some issues but is coming along.
te:
myers isn’t very good at blocking. gets used a lot. boss will be great to get back. gordon likes to try to chip-block w/ his shoulder. not great.
qb:
so-so for jc, but no real mistakes which is good. we basically abandoned the pass b/c we could run so well. didn’t throw the deep ball well.
dl:
fantastic! seymour’s effect can not be overstated. stands at the line talking to to the others. the front 4 are dominant. shaugnessy is a speed/power beast. constant pressure. played very stout against the run. backups also played well. big news is moss, while not doing much in the rush, really played the run well. he is improving bigtime.
lb:
can’t believe how much better they are playing, especially groves! did i just say that? he is really playing well. taking excellent angles and playing strong at the point of attack. mcclain played mush better too. still a few poor reads but overall getting very good. and wimbley played well too. no sacks but his pressure forced the issue many times, disrupting the play.

I worry more about a physical and exhausting win combined with a short week and long travel wearing down the Raiders to the point they’re vulnerable than I do the Bills themselves.
Pressure Fitzpatrick, heavy dose of DMac = win
This is where a guy with HueJax’s intensity can make a difference if he can keep the team up and focused.
Raiders give the Bills a dose of the bomb Buffalo dropped on KC last week. Oakland 44 – Buffalo 13

i agree about the short week, etc. and i agree about the passrush. our front 4 are for real. #2 in sacks last year and it’s gonna be better. with the lb’s playing so much better, i see the defense basically shutting the bills down. and we can flatout run against anyone. i do worry about the short week/east coast game but hey, we’re better than they are and we should be hungry. i’ll say 27-10. we will pound the ball and own the clock.
September 14th, 2011 at 6:20 am
mmm–it’s dvd. he’ll be ok. he can cover. nick is on borrowed time at this point. he is doing nothing for us. i liked him but his “returning” is non-existent. get moore in there.
September 14th, 2011 at 6:20 am
I assumed that we’d see a few signing this week since the contracts now wouldn’t be guaranteed. That’s probably just wishful thinking though.
I also think that this is an improved Buff team that we’ll be playing, short week, long trip… it’ll be a close game I’m afraid.

i re-watched the game, like i always do. i watched every play about 10 times, watching every player. here’s the review:
o-line:
there are 3 good players here. for all u cooper-bashers, just shut it b/c ur showing ur ignorance. the guy is a technician. a pro’s pro. he’s undoubtedly our best lineman. not a mauler, but his man almost never makes the play. he scraps and scraps, leads his man away from the play, etc. grades out very high, 90% plus.
veldheer is very good. occasionally makes a mistake but for the most part locks onto his man and takes care of business.
wiz is pretty good. makes some rookie mistakes but he’s tenacious and gets after it. locks on and works. a poor man’s version of his uncle at this point but he’s good.
barnes did okay. some mistakes and doesn’t always make the block but pretty good.
heyer is hit and miss. just okay really.
satele is awful. occasionally will make a nice play but way too often whiffs. he loves to dive for a cut block when he should go lock on. he is the weak link.
rb:
dmc is fantastic. period. bush is very good. i don’t care if some announcer says reece is a good blocker, he’s horrible at it. just goes and reaches out to push. never locks on his man. blocks like a former wr.
wr:
jacoby apparently was rusty/nervous. but he will be in the gameplan in a lot of ways. dhb has some issues but is coming along.
te:
myers isn’t very good at blocking. gets used a lot. boss will be great to get back. gordon likes to try to chip-block w/ his shoulder. not great.
qb:
so-so for jc, but no real mistakes which is good. we basically abandoned the pass b/c we could run so well. didn’t throw the deep ball well.
dl:
fantastic! seymour’s effect can not be overstated. stands at the line talking to to the others. the front 4 are dominant. shaugnessy is a speed/power beast. constant pressure. played very stout against the run. backups also played well. big news is moss, while not doing much in the rush, really played the run well. he is improving bigtime.
lb:
can’t believe how much better they are playing, especially groves! did i just say that? he is really playing well. taking excellent angles and playing strong at the point of attack. mcclain played mush better too. still a few poor reads but overall getting very good. and wimbley played well too. no sacks but his pressure forced the issue many times, disrupting the play.

Rob_raider, how about your thoughts on special teams?
September 14th, 2011 at 6:45 am
yes, the Buffies just thrashed perhaps the worst team in the NFL, but who could’ve predicted they’d drop a forty spot on Carcass City?
who could’ve predicted that Newbie would set a rookie passing record (although Az was freaking horrible in the secondary)and Donovan McDone would average 1.7 yds per pass attempt?
who could’ve guessed after the red-headed stepchild went down for Kitties that Popgun would throw a TD while Cleveland was still huddling on D?
who knew that the Cowgirls’ QB would soil himself so badly causing them ‘girls to lose a 2 TD lead in the 4th for the first time ever?
who knew that Henne could throw for 400 yds even if he faced no defense on a practice field?
Who would’ve predicted the mangling the Crows put on the ‘burghers?
who knew the Falcs would play like fledglings covered in oily goo?
predicting or worrying ’bout what is to come in upstate NY is definitely unfathomable.

I really have to give credit to Rod Woodson for getting our DBs ready for the season. I was really worried about our DB play. They were not great but they did a good job aginst a pass happy offense with harly no run game. Esepecially if you look at how many DBs were exploited in week one. Due to the lock out they really seemed to be out of “football speed” shape.

Great breakdown, could not agree with you more. I stayed up until 2 watching the game and re-watched most of it again yesterday. I feel this team can be very good and i have not felt that way in quite a long time honestly. It is also obvious that some things need work especially in the passsing game. We need boss back big time Myers does nothing for me, not worth throwing to. I was sick hreading the bloggers ripping McClain yesterday, undeserved.
September 14th, 2011 at 7:15 am
I think if anyone was getting cut or signed it would have happened yesterday. I think our secondary will be fine, aside from Stevie Johnson Buffalo doesnt have any real receiving threats. We have to maintain coverage on their TE though, he is a big dude and has pretty good hands. Would be really nice to have MM34 back for this game.

The biggest threat from Buff will be Spiller. We have had a difficult time in the past with speedy backs like him. I think their tandem of Jackson and Spiller isnt much better than Moreno and Mcgahee though. We should definitely exploit their oline issues and our defensive front should be able to produce a fair number of sacks again.

One thing for certain we cannot commit the number of penalties we had last game. That number should be no more than 1/3 this game.
Field position, we cannot allow them to start on our side of the field. Special teams you need to stand up.
Offense, no 3 and outs…We have the tools to move the ball on any D…Need to get that on film….

Some of you guys need to stop playing fantasy football, it’s not about yardage for a qb. It’s about leading scoring drives protecting the ball & decision making. Don’t get caught up in the 100 yards total. That was an anomaly, & we only threw 22 passes. The game plan was the same a’s last year run the ball take a few shots down field. In a more pass heavy game plan you won’t see 100 yards passing, relax.

they have the hot hand after 1 good game? i think sunday’s game says more about the chiefs than it does the bills. the bills were 4-12 last year. statistically they didn’t do all that much against the chiefs, so it’s not like they’re great suddenly. u are just being u. u wouldn’t pick the raiders, ever. so u have no integrity.

The problem with playing a 4-12 team early is this is the time of the year where bad teams haven’t figured out that they’re bad yet. After last Sunday, I can assure you the Bills have not figured how bad they really are. Nice comment on MR’s lack of integrity BTW.

While the Raiders will have to play with a lot more discipline and mix the pass and run more on Sunday this game is definitely winnable. Buffalo is not as good as last week’s score might indicate to some. KC has a one-dimensional offense, a sub-par defense and they haven’t been the same since we clobbered them at the end of last season. Losing Berry to injury really hurt their poor defense as well. Stuff the run, mix our offense up and keep the dumb penalties to a minimum and we can come back home 2-0.

Loved listening to the local radio stations all the way home yesterday.
Orton this and Teblow that.
They may not realize it, but Denver has bigger fish to fry than the QB situation. Run D, run game, O-line and the dropsies just to name a few.
I thought we played okay.
Take McFadden away and the offense might struggle to score on a CFL team.
Nick Miller looks uncomfortable as the punt returner, and looks like he is going to drop every punt.
Penalties….what can you say….it was the ONLY thing, well, that and the wide open players underneath, that kept the Broncos in the game.
Jano….nice work.
Hue….not sold on the scripted begining to the game with all the trickeration that failed, but otherwise a well called game.
Defense looked good. I don’t think we can claim that the run D problems are solved just yet as Denver has no run game, but at least there is hope after week one. Pass D, well CJ got worked a little, but otherwise it was decent. A lot of wide open RBs, TEs and WRs underneath, but they only broke one of those for a long gain.
Might not have been perfect, but I’ll take a win on the road in week one no matter how we got it.

Playing in buffalo has been a house of horrors over the years, I think it will be different this year.
1.) buffalo will stack the box but it wont slow down our run game. The bills run defense can be had on the edges.
2.) They dont have whitner at safety, and i dont think they really upgraded or even have an adequate replacement. I would expect that our backs and tight ends will have some opportunities, against their lb group and safeties.
3.) Our speed at receiver will force them to back out of the box. The deep passes that Jc threw last week forced the safeties back. Buffalo will have to choose to expose the secondary and hope JC continues to miss, or live with dmac and bush pounding away.
4.) Fred jackson and spiller have not become a great tandem. jackson is a mudder that wont out run you. Spiller is most dangerous on the edge and with cut backs. This makes their running game very predictable. If our d line and backers simply maintain their gaps we can greatly reduce their impact.
5.) Fitzpatrick is being over sold. Fitz is decent but hasnt proven anything yet. He still hasnt won a game that matters and he does lose his cool when he is under pressure from the pass rush. i can see him with 2 turnovers, if we can get a lead and force fitz to beat us.
September 14th, 2011 at 9:05 am

i re-watched the game, like i always do. i watched every play about 10 times, watching every player. here’s the review:
o-line:
there are 3 good players here. for all u cooper-bashers, just shut it b/c ur showing ur ignorance. the guy is a technician. a pro’s pro. he’s undoubtedly our best lineman. not a mauler, but his man almost never makes the play. he scraps and scraps, leads his man away from the play, etc. grades out very high, 90% plus.
veldheer is very good. occasionally makes a mistake but for the most part locks onto his man and takes care of business.
wiz is pretty good. makes some rookie mistakes but he’s tenacious and gets after it. locks on and works. a poor man’s version of his uncle at this point but he’s good.
barnes did okay. some mistakes and doesn’t always make the block but pretty good.
heyer is hit and miss. just okay really.
satele is awful. occasionally will make a nice play but way too often whiffs. he loves to dive for a cut block when he should go lock on. he is the weak link.
rb:
dmc is fantastic. period. bush is very good. i don’t care if some announcer says reece is a good blocker, he’s horrible at it. just goes and reaches out to push. never locks on his man. blocks like a former wr.
wr:
jacoby apparently was rusty/nervous. but he will be in the gameplan in a lot of ways. dhb has some issues but is coming along.
te:
myers isn’t very good at blocking. gets used a lot. boss will be great to get back. gordon likes to try to chip-block w/ his shoulder. not great.
qb:
so-so for jc, but no real mistakes which is good. we basically abandoned the pass b/c we could run so well. didn’t throw the deep ball well.
dl:
fantastic! seymour’s effect can not be overstated. stands at the line talking to to the others. the front 4 are dominant. shaugnessy is a speed/power beast. constant pressure. played very stout against the run. backups also played well. big news is moss, while not doing much in the rush, really played the run well. he is improving bigtime.
lb:
can’t believe how much better they are playing, especially groves! did i just say that? he is really playing well. taking excellent angles and playing strong at the point of attack. mcclain played mush better too. still a few poor reads but overall getting very good. and wimbley played well too. no sacks but his pressure forced the issue many times, disrupting the play.
cb:
routt made some nice plays. look, he is not namdi. but that’s not the point. he plays pretty well. cj gave a few up but also played nice at times. dvd did okay too. porter is not good. his coverage is weak.
s:
huff and branch are really good. run support is great too. giordano goes from last guy to make the roster to being very big. plays like his job depends on it and plays smart. great addition. boyd is a work in progress. makes some great plays but also some bad ones. has a hard time changing directions in coverage and overpursues at times in run defense. mitchell will be a welcomed addition.
::::::::::
Rob, nice post. May I suggest doing it again, this time including worst and best plays from each player. Yeah it would be more work, but would enrich your post with depth and insight.
Well done.

One thing I liked about what Hue did Monday night was kinda abandon the passing game when it wasn’t really working and the running game was. I think Hue and Saunders are savy enough to get a read on what’s working and kinda roll with that.
If anything, I’m hoping we scheme a little differently. I’d like to see our WRs on short and intermediate passes across the middle instead of just keeping them on the outside and sending them deep.

I was really impressed with our line backer play. The bronco run game was dismantled, and it wasnt close. I know the broncos are not a strong running team, yet we have struggled to stop the run even against the poor running teams like the broncos. Now that they have actually shut down an nfl run game for a full 4 quarters, they will grow in confidence, and believe in their assignments that much more. there was far less free lancing and much more discipline. the results were fantastic.
Romac had the boys on point. i didnt see our lbs over pursue or shoot the wrong gaps the way they have in the past. Although romac whiffed on a couple of tackles, they typically tried to rush on the edges of our defense. That is where teams have made the most yards in the past. having wimbly and groves be in the right spots was huge improvement. teams clearly respect the middle of our defense, they dont challenge us up the middle with the run. That has everything to do with seymore kelly and romac.

My prediction for next weeks game in Buffalo is JC chucks the ball 35-40 times because Hue wants to show everyone that this passing game will fly.
The running game will not show up until the second half because of our aerial show and we will win in a close game by 3 points.

Dakota,
somehow you survived the trudge into donkeymania. Good.
two consecutive fumbles by donk receivers on their final touchdown drive – either one recovered by the Raiders and the lights would’ve been turned out on the game.
so, from my view the donks should’ve scored zero TDs. blatant holding on the punt return and those fumbles going straight back to the fumbler on each occasion.
Baby Long Worthy only has to go 10-5 from here on out. piece of cake.

I have played alot of football, and I have heard NUMEROUS times our QB coach tell our QB “Wrong Guy” regardless if the pass was completed..
Hue and Saunders are looking for the ball to go to a specific player based on looks that they showed the Defense 2 quarters ago..Its all a chess match, and JC keeps taking the easy way out. I have confidence he will get there. These coaches won’t allow anything less.
September 14th, 2011 at 9:28 am
I’m not really understanding what the quick throws to the flat give us if the safeties are crowding down us to stop the run anyway. These type of plays tend to bottle up the offense both passing and running lanes.
We need to continue to take shots 20 yards plus down the field, even if they are incomplete. The lanes open up on the next play and you get the gashing runs up the middle. Gotta keep taking shots.
Now I am concerned with JCamp’s horrible deep throws. I have to hope it had something to do with the wet weather. I sure hope he practices deep throws till his arm falls off. He needs to develop chemistry with the receivers and put it into tighter windows.
We can’t abandon the long pass, regardless of how many are dropped or even intercepted.

Buffalo safeties need to prove to me that they can be as good against the run as whitner, there is no insult attached to this statement.
The deep routes from our offense forced the safeties back last week, why do you think the run game opened up the way it did? did you watch the game? You clearly dont understand what you are looking at if you did. then again you probably dont understand much of anything.
spiller barely had any touches last year, because he couldnt pick up blitzes and was a major disappointment. jackson is not special, he is an over achiever. we should be able to handle them.
Both qbs’ won their games, and led the team on scoring drives. Both qbs executed their game plans. the difference in the yardage totals is only important to fantasy football guys.

If you want to play little kids games and try justifying it because this is a Blog then go ahead I really don’t care it obviously bothers you prag and your still babbling about it.
I see it here all day long someone posts something then 5 people attack the post with the angry mob mentality.
Get off my nuts and go back to suckling mystic he seems to like it.

A lot of people on the East Coast are beating their chest that Buffalo is gonna smoke the Raiders. They point to the 10AM game, long cross country trip, etc. They point to the beatdown they gave the Cheifs. They point to the Vegas line.
I don’t see it, but I don’t want to delude myself either. They ain’t bad, I’ll allow that. But these are the Buffalo Bills, not some playoff team. They always suck. Why is everyone treating them that special?

I’m not impressed with RoMac’s demeanor. He’s the QB back there and needs to keep his head. He’s too much of a hothead, and it cost us. He needs to check his ego at the door till the game is won. I doubt he’s thinking about the next play or sequence while going on one of his temper tirades. He needs to get his head right.
I want every Raider to be a hot head, just don’t get caught ie no hits to the opponents face

“Stop trying to bite my style,”
I OWN YOU!
I told you yesterday all day that we failed at throwing the ball and you proclaimed that we were not trying to throw the ball.
It wasn’t until the Hue Jackson interview was published last night that you were proved to be wrong by our coach who admitted the passing game was a failure last week and needed work.
Now insert some lame comment by your prag Bcz24 like I am rubber you are glue……
=========================
i have no idea what a prag even is, im guessing this is where you start talking that gey ish you normally do. stop telling on yourself.
I said the game plan was to run, and take a few shots down field. i was right as evidenced by the low number of 22 pass attempts. HU jack saying that we need to improve doesnt refute what i said in any way. In fact I agree with hu jack, he needs to continue to prod JC and the rest of the team to get better. no where did i read Hu jack claim the passing game was a “failure”, or that his qb failed.
In fact he offered this on his qb
“Jason is the leader of this offensive football team and they follow him. I send subliminal messages through the mic to him, but he gives the guys in that huddle what he wants to give them. He was able to urge that group on to finish the game and that’s what this is all about. You have to as a quarterback get guys to play at a higher level and he was able to do that. They finished the game the way we hope to finish every game – in victory formation.” –HU Jack on the play of JC vs denver
Again hu jack saw what i saw, a solid performance in adverse conditions an a hostile environment, and there is always room for improvement.
What is your point/damage?

Guest123… The media won’t give the Raiders any props … The Raiders will just have to keep winning and improving and force the media to have to give them credit…Beating the Bills problably still won’t be enough but the Bills are one of the kinds of games the Raiders need to win to start getting credit … It will come but it’s gonna take a lot for Ex donkeys like Tom Jackson to say anything good about the Raiders..
Just Win!…. Raiders!

I know what you are saying, but we can’t have it both ways with this Build a Bully Mantra (which I think is absurd, but I digress..)RoMac thought he was getting punked…probably from 3 or 4 plays before that..He thought the time was nigh to take a stand. You either get pushed around or you do the pushing, and if you wanna be the bully, your gonna have to take the heat when you get caught, plain and simple..
I have no problem with him not taking any isht from those clowns in orange who were just waiting to lay down and cry..

It will be cold in Buff. this weekend. 50’s. Bush will be RB, Mac out of the slot. Spread the D and concour.
Raiders win 31/13.

Look, I like Jason Campbell and I will support him as a Raider, but lets stop blamming the recievers for not getting open. If you watch the games, you see WR open all day long. You don’t need 5 yards to be considered Open. Look at some of the elite QB’s. They throw their receivers open. That also allow their receivers to make plays. If you put DHB on the Pats, Packers, or Saints. he catches 70 balls for 1300+.
Jason doesn’t trust himself right now. Also if you can run like we did Monday, why throw it?

Who says I own you on a blog??
Arguing with the number one Glo apologist?
You will never own anything.
Myst lives in his own bubble of his own making, kind of a dark one from what Ive noticed, but never the less, why even bother arguing with him/her.

“We see that in practice all the time,” Campbell said after the game. “This guy kicks 65-, 70-yard field goals. We knew if we could set him up on the right hash, his preference, it gives him the opportunity to kick that field goal.”
Now every team knows Janikowski prefers to kick from the right hash.
