Raiders work out linebackers

Share

The Raiders worked out linebacker Kevin Malast on Tuesday, according to his agent, as well as linebacker Prescott Burgess, according to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com.
Malast, 25, has not appeared in any regular-season games since he joined the NFL out of Rutgers in 2009. He has spent time with the Chicago Bears and Tennessee Titans.
Malast, 25, is 6-feet-2 and 235 pounds. The Raiders are thin at linebacker in light of Ricky Brown being placed on injured reserve Saturday and starting middle linebacker Rolando McClain suffering an ankle injury Sunday against the Houston Texans.
Malast was released by the Titans in late August, and he has not been with a team ever since. He spent five weeks on the Bears practice squad in 2009.
Burgess, 27, has appeared in 38 games during his five NFL seasons, none as a starter. He has played for the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots, including one game for the Ravens this season.

Well Nation, we got our work cut out for us this Sunday, conserve your voice, talk in a whisper; cause Sunday we need to bring the thunder of the 12th man. The Motor City fans set the mark of 9 false starts, I think we can do better…

People you need to understand that a GM is not just a warm body you can throw into office and expect success.

A Gm needs to have a legal or financial background, a nerd not an ex athlete that has close ties to the organization.

Did you see what happened when Matt Millen was GM in Detroit?

A Gm needs to be a business man with a firm understanding of contracts and the legal aspects of contracts not some washed up athlete or old buddy.

This is not something you trust anyone with this is a big deal.

So stop the Madden and Gannon whoever else you suggest we hire talk because its ridiculous to think you could take just any old body off the streets to do this job.

Who we gonna bring in for GM? I dont care really. Al is my GM and my coach

    AMEN!

  • ArmChair GM

I’m gonna admit I don’t know much about Millen.

Can somebody please explain to me why a dude that went 0-16 should even be considered as our GM?

I really want to be educated about this, seriously.

Mistic was a runner up for Best Raider Fan Ever (behind perennial champion Plunketthead), so you can;t fault him for passion.

    Mistic:

IMPOSTER FANS BEWARE! The ghost of Al Davis and his hand-picked succesor Hue Jack are marching on your trampled, feeble forms as we speak!

    _______________

    Puhlease. Grow some nuts, LA.

Mistic’s definition of imposter is anyone with criticism towards the players he loves. I seem to remember you being critical of Soup. And Method makes his displeasure with DHB well known in here. Gee, the very 2 players I criticized last year. Welcome to the imposter club…

I can appreciate passion, just don’t be stupid about it. Plenty of passionate fans in here that are real about our players abilities.

  • our guys will know better than to take this game lightly. it will carry an over-whelming attitude cause of Als’ passing.
Run DMC will get over 175 AND JC throws over 300.

    Interesting facts

    phillip rivers 125/186 67.2 cmp %1536 yards 8.26 yard per att 6td 7int 4 fumbles rating of 87.6

    orton 91/155 58.7 cmp% 979 yards 6.32 yard per att
    8td 7int 2 fumbles rating 75.7

    cassel 93/140 66.4cmp% 945 yards 6.7 yards per att
    8td 5int 2 fumbles rating of 89.7

    Jc 94/156 60.3 1118 yards 7.17 yards per att
    6td ( 2 rushing td 8 total) 4int 1 fumble 84.3 rating

Looks like Jc is on par with any qb in our division.
he only trails rivers in cmp % yards and rating, but he has less turnovers, and throws the ball down field more than rivers.

In fact “captain check down” is leading the afc west in throwing down field, and turns the ball over less than any qb in the division.

Jc has the best td to turn over ratio in the division as well. rivers is the only other qb to have a rushing td giving him 7td / 11 turnovers. Jc has 8td/ 5 turnovers.

Dont look now but at this moment we are being treated to the best qb play in the afc west!
