Aaron Curry, the linebacker acquired by trade from the Seattle Seahawks, spent much of the media window Friday in dicussions with linebackers coach Greg Biekert.
It seems unlikely Curry would be active after one practice unless Hue Jackson and Chuck Bresnahan have any ideas of using him in spot duty for a specific role.
Players who weren’t at practice included defensive end Matt Shaugnessy, fullback Marcel Reece and cornerback Chris Johnson. It is likely all three players will miss their third consecutive game. Free safety Michael Huff was present, atlhough it remains to be seen how much he’ll practice, as was tight end Richard Gordon.
Running back and special teams captain Rock Cartwright, the personal protector for Shane Lechler, appeared to be a spectator with a calf injury. Cornerback Chemdi Chekwa was working with the athletic training staff on a separate field, meaning DeMarcus Van Dyke will probably start for a second straight game.
The Raiders have not made an announcement on the countermove necessary for adding Curry. Bruce Davis was not present at practice and on his Twitter account Thursday indicated he’d been released.
