    Raiders 24….. Chefs 17….

McFadden has had some pretty good games aginst the Chefs

  2. Just Fire Baby Says:

The Chiefs, for whatever reason, seem to play us tougher in Oakland than in Arrowhead.

  3. bcz24 Says:

Morning fella’s. The QB well has run dry. Mike Brown would rather stroke his ego than improve his team. Orton is too expensive. Garrard going for surgery… nobody else gives us a better shot than Boller does… so this is it. Our season rides on a guy who has proven time and again he can’t get it done. The question is, can he offer enough in the passing game to keep defenses honest?

  4. Just Fire Baby Says:

People thinking we can package MM34 or Lou Murphy and get a QB are hilarious.

Players are much, much undervalued as compared to draft picks.

The NFL’s leading WR in yardage last year, just got traded for a 6th round pick.

Lou Murphy would not get us anything in return. Literally, I don’t think a team would even offer a conditional 2014 7th rounder for him.

    MM34, same thing.

Bush, might get us a 4th or 5th rounder, at best.

  5. Just Fire Baby Says:

When you look at the QB’s we have expressed an interest in, and look at the #2’s and #3’s around the league, makes it all that much more hilarious that people thought Gradkowski would never be on a roster again, and also hilarious that Jamarcus can’t beat any of these guys out for a job.

  6. Just Fire Baby Says:

Hue will get the most out of Boller, but when you are a QB in your 30’s, you are who you are.

Boller is a strong-armed QB, with major accuracy issues, and a penchant for turning it over more than any HC would want one too.

  7. Just Fire Baby Says:

New safety means we should either cut Boyd or the new guy we signed last week.

Gio is staying around. Hell the guy is on the field as much as MM34 these days.

Were is that guy that told me that Boyd was waaaay better than Giordano?

  8. RaiderRockstar Says:

    career qb ratings:

    campbell 82.8
    boller 70.4

could it be any simpler? for those of u who thought jc was just ok (like me), wait till u get a load of boller.

    ***

    rob_raider,

    I’m afraid you’re correct. I can’t see Kyle Boller throwing for 300 yards or 3 TD’s

if KC finds a way to stuff McFadden & Bush, we’re toast

I hope KC isn’t smart enough to stack the box. If they are, I hope we run it down their throats anyway and get some help from Special Teams!

I’m still holding fast to this though “STUFF THE RUN = WIN THE GAME” … that means Jones, Battle & McCluster

  9. Just Fire Baby Says:

McCluster sucks, and was so massively overrated in the media, after returning a punt for a TD in his first game.

Since than, he hasn’t much besides get hurt and fumble.

  10. RaiderRockstar Says:

Desmond Bryant has been the starting right end in place of Matt Shaughnessy for the past two games.

    ***

    Duh.

Result = Foster & Hillis stuffed

    nice work D-Bry!

  11. Just Fire Baby Says:

Bryant is a much better all-around player than Moss.

Moss is a poor mans Derrick Burgess.

  12. RaiderRockstar Says:

Then I pray. I pray hard to make the right decision. I ask for guidance and wisdom

    -Hue Jackson

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Excellent, excellent summation, Bcz.

I don’t believe he can. I hope I’m wrong. He’s just shown me nothing in his entire career to make me think he can.

If he had less of a penchant for boneheaded turnovers, I’d feel better. But he’s not the safe game manager Campbell is. People saying there’s no drop off from JC to Boller are either 1) insane 2) kidding themselves 3) have never seen Boller play

  14. RaiderRockstar Says:

former Cincinnati Bengals safety Chinedum Ndukwe said via Twitter that he has signed with the Raiders.

    ++++++++++++++++++

Indeed. We’ve got two big DEs anchoring each side of the line and it’s helped. It takes away the pass rush a bit, but if Seymour and Kelly can keep collapsing the pocket, it shouldn’t be too bad. Wimbley needs to step up.

  16. RaiderRockstar Says:

I was wrong about Aaron Curry.

    He did not suck.

    ***

    LOL @ Ted

i’m right there with ya buddy. I didn’t flat out say that he sucks, but I thought it was too soon for him to start and I really didn’t think Groves was all that bad

Curry will be just fine at WLB

  17. Just Fire Baby Says:

The crazy thing is, that most of the posters who say there won’t be much of a dropoff from Soup to Boller, are also the same posters who wanted to talk up Soup as a potential top 10 QB in the NFL.

    So which one is it?

Priest and Mistic both said there won’t be too much of a dropoff, yet they also both said they would rather have Soup over Eli Manning and Matt Ryan.

So is Kyle Boller equal to Matty Ice now as well?

  18. hwnrdr Says:

    Good Morning Nation!!!
Rewatching the game last night…man Boller missed some of those throws, but…it looked more like timing than anything else!
Aaron Curry…I was hoping we had a chance to draft him in 09…used wrong in Seattle! I hope he continues to prove me correct!
In the end…Boller looks like he will be the guy to make us or break us! Sad that we are off to our best start since 2002 and probably blow it on quaterback play now! **Crossing Fingers***

  19. hwnrdr Says:

And by the way…that former Bengals safety that tweeted that he just signed with the Raiders…did anyone check to see if his twitter account was verified?

  20. Just Fire Baby Says:

I remember in the offseason, panicing about our backup QB situation.

Most told me to shut up, who cared about a backup, and Kyle Boller was fine.

J Hill was about the only one on my side at the time, but of course now, he thinks Boller is fine, lol.

  21. SilverNBlackPA Says:

    JFB,

I hear ya. Lots of whistling past the graveyard right now. I just want to be realistic.

Annoys me that people are telling me because I think Boller is horrible that means I don’t support the team.

I support the guy in the sense that he’s the starting QB of the Raiders and I want him to do well. But thinking he’s incapable of doing well is not rooting against him. I wish people could draw that distinction.

  22. hwnrdr Says:

I never liked Boller from his Cal days and knew that JC was just average at best…but JC grew into the system and could manage it well! What are we doing to address this situation now? Hue knows, but…I believe we should have addressed that situation in pre-season!

through six games, Jason Campbell has completed 60.6 % of his passes (100/165) for 1170 yards and 6 TD’s.

He’s thrown 4 INT’s and only been sacked 5 times. fumbled 3 times (losing 1)

    QB Rating of 84.2

    also has 2 rushing TD’s

    Raiders are 4-2

    ***

that is solid QB play in my book, considering we much we run it and how sucessful we are at doing it

Can Kyle Boller match or exceed the 2011 version of JCamp? We’re gonna need him to if we hope to make the playoffs

Next 6 games are against KC, DEN, SD, MIN, CHI & MIA

with Jason Campbell at the helm I think we go 4-2 again it that stretch. Boller? who knows?

Just because he isn’t getting the sacks doesnt mean he isnt playing well. He is hurrying the QB and those hits that are just a tad late still rattle the QB. Wimbley is playing a lot better than the guy gets credit for.

I was screaming for Curry back in training camp and most thought I was out of my mind. That dude is a stud and he will be for many years. I also love how Hue swindled Seattle into paying Curry’s contract off.

    ++++++++++

Still think we might manage 4-2 with Boller, ironically enough, since Denver, Minnesota and Miami are really really godawfully horrible.

But after that? I think things go downhill. For instance…Detroit is a winnable game with Campbell. But with Boller? Not so certain. Could sweep San Diego with Campbell….may get swept by them with Boller. And so on.

  33. hwnrdr Says:

I think Boller will just have to make “those” throws to keep the defense honest so we can run it down their throats! Will he be able to do it? That remains to be seen, but the receivers have faith in him…I hope they’re correct!

  34. bcz24 Says:

Next 6 games are against KC, DEN, SD, MIN, CHI & MIA
    *******************
Truthfully, with Campbell at the helm I think 5-1 was possible, and even 6-0. I think Hue will be smart with Boller. I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, saying that Boller will set the world on fire, but all he has to do is keep the defense honest and limit turnovers. Practicing with the starters will definitely help his timing now, and I still think we can go 4-2 or 5-1 in those games. KC, Den, Min, Mia should all be locks, those teams are TERRIBLE they have 4 wins COMBINED (2 of those wins are against current winless teams)

  35. RaiderRockstar Says:

    taking KC predictions yet?

the Chiefs have won 2 straight and are coming off of a bye week.

the Raiders just lost their starting QB for the season and most of the “we have to win this game for Al Davis” stuff has calmed down.

Thomas Jones is averaging 3.4 ypc – no Jamaal Charles to worry about

However, Battle & McCluster are each averaging 5.4 ypc

KC has no rushing TD’s thru 5 games

Derrick Johnson is a tackling machine

    Tamba Hali has 4 sacks

Breaston & Bowe are studs. Cassel is playing like the best QB in the AFC West

  36. SilverNBlackPA Says:

    RRS,

I think we could be in big trouble, particularly with Boller at the helm.

But there’s no way I can predict a Raiders loss. Too much of a homer. :)

    Raiders 19 – Chiefs 17

Defense steps up to help Boller through his first week.

  37. RaiderRockstar Says:

    Having said all that…

I hope the Raiders don’t focus too much on KC’s passing attack with Cassel, Bowe, Breaston, etc.

Sort of like we did with Tom Brady & Wes Welker?

Then their nobody RB’s run all over us.

Chuck B has to make sure we don’t look past their runners. Hate to say this, but now that Chuck has all the say on Defense … Routt should blanket Bowe (not be limited to one side of the field)

    Final Prediction:

    Raiders 13
    Chiefs 10

Boller throws for 156 yards, 1 INT but makes a few nice throws to move the chains when needed and DHB continues to shine

    McFadden 80 yards, TD
    Bush 40 yards

  38. hwnrdr Says:

That 2 staright they have won though…who were they against? Hali always opposes a threat and not too worried about Jones! Who knows, they may be playing for their coach (I heard that Haley gets fired if he loses again)…but I don’t think we lose to them, although, first game with Boller all game…

  39. RaiderRockstar Says:

I wont judge Kyle Boller on what he did in college.

Not what he did in Baltimore or St Louis either …

but what he’s accomplished thus far in Oakland with Hue Jackson as play caller is this:

    10/18 , 125 yards, INT. sacked 3 times. fumbled 3 times

  40. RaiderRockstar Says:

time 2 get some work done.. later gents!

  41. bcz24 Says:

Lets not forget that our defense is really coming on right now. I know shutting down the browns isn’t impressive but shutting down Houston IS very impressive. They are really growing, and as long as Chuck keeps the pressure up we should be ok

  42. fingers Says:

    # 34…agree…not sure what to expect but I’m gonna hope for the best..

  43. bcz24 Says:

KC beat Indy who couldnt fight their way out of a wet paper bag, and Minnesota… who makes indy look good. They beat both of those teams by a combined 6 points.

  44. Dakota Says:

I heard that the reason we signed that safety was because Michael Huff is about to be packed away either with picks for a QB or to another team for picks to clear cap space to get a QB.

  45. bcz24 Says:

Boller looked like a 2nd string QB who hadn’t had any reps with the receivers (which I also think is why he DID have the timing with Chaz to complete that beauty down the sideline that was negated by penalty). JC wasn’t lighting the game on fire… the only 2 games we turned to him to win, he lost. Boller CAN do what Campbell was doing. The big drop off is going to be in the leadership, JC really had command of this team.

  46. bcz24 Says:

That better be one hell of a QB for us to get rid of Huff. He is playing his best ball right now… could they be shipping him to Dallas for Kitna?

  47. bcz24 Says:

I want to clarify that I don’t think Kitna is the ‘hell of a QB’ I mentioned in that post.

I’m sure we’ll be getting Dakota style confirmation of that fact sometime today ;-)

  49. fingers Says:

Still haven’t ruled out an Orton trade…doesn’t look like many teams are calling The Donks about Orton…
Nope , not an Orton fan just think ( know) he’s better than Boller although I’d love it if Boller were to prove me wrong Sunday

  50. hwnrdr Says:

No to trading Huff…he has been doing good as of late, especially since he sat out his first game of his career a few weeks ago!

  51. bcz24 Says:

Orton is too expensive. We would have to pick up about $5 million in salary to bring him in, for what 9 games? Boller IS starting against KC. QB is not the same as WLB, you cant just throw this guy in and expect him to start.

  52. hwnrdr Says:

Although I heard that safety was pretty good…but he’s a former Bengal? Where is he now?

  53. Dakota Says:

We need a QB and cap space. Where else is that going to come from? The only position we have three decent players with only two positions to fill is at safety….only one of the three safeties makes enough money to make a difference or has the name to bring anything back in a trade…what I am hearing makes sense.

  54. fingers Says:

Agree…I fully expect Boller to start aginst KC

  55. bcz24 Says:

If we trade Huff for Palmer, I won’t freak out, but if we trade Huff for Orton, I will be mad as hell.

  56. SilverNBlackPA Says:

    Dakota,

Maybe it’s Huff and the rest of our draft picks on the way to Chicago for Cutler like that guy was in here pushing yesterday. Did you see that? LOL.

Seriously, for a second, if Huff would go it had better be as bcz said for one hell of a good QB. Huff for Orton…no way.

  58. hwnrdr Says:

    Or Huff for Kitna…
Dakota, yes that makes sense but…for who? Maybe a QB and a DB? Ok, now I’m dreaming…

  59. SilverNBlackPA Says:

Huff might not fetch more than a 4th rounder on the open market, but he’s worth more than a 4th rounder to this team right now.

  60. hwnrdr Says:

Just to verify…I mean that if we trade Huff for Kitna…I’m throwing something out the window…and it won’t be me!

  61. SilverNBlackPA Says:

Little surprised Kitna’s name hasn’t come up before. That McGee kid has looked pretty good in limited action in the pre-season & could back up Romo and Kitna was with Jackson in Cincinnati

  62. Chris in NY Says:

Huff is one of the best players on this team. Why would we trade him?

  63. Dakota Says:

    Week Six power rankings

    1. Packers (No. 1; 6-0): Brett Favre will be surprised at how long the cork stays in the champagne bottle of the ’72 Dolphins.

    2. Ravens (No. 6; 4-1): They might be the only team that can beat the Pats in the playoffs, and that can stay within 20 of the Packers in the Super Bowl.

    3. Patriots (No. 5; 5-1): It’s hard to tell whether the bigger indignity would be to cut Chad Ochocinco, or to keep him and not use him.

    4. 49ers (No. 7; 5-1): “Hacksaw” Jim Harbaugh should dispense with the post-game handshake and go with a simple thumb’s up.

    5. Lions (No. 3; 5-1): If Jim Schwartz ever gets fired by the Lions, Pete Carroll would surely hire him.

    6. Raiders (No. 9; 4-2): The only thing that would make this story better is an instant impact from Terelle Pryor.

    7. Chargers (No. 8; 4-1): The bye was only a slightly weaker opponent than most of San Diego’s first five foes.

    8. Buccaneers (No. 15; 4-2): Raheem Morris should get coach of the year votes for getting that 48-3 taste out of his team’s mouth so quickly.

    9. Saints (No. 2; 4-2): Bill Belichick would list Sean Payton as probable on the injury report.

    +++++++++

Palmer’s salary is 11 million. That’s 687,500 per game. 4.125 million so far would be pro rated, so the Raiders would be on the hook for 6.875 million for the remaining 10 games.

Someone with a decent salary is getting moved or cut I have to think or else the fastest re-work in contract history is coming

  88. raiderkoolaid Says:

Any deal can get done if all sides are motivated to do it. ++++++++

I am certain HueJax has already done this.

And if not, he should be tarred and feathered

If Palmer doesnt report, we dont send the pick.

I think Palmer will put us in to the playoffs and make us a real contender. Which will turn that 1st rounder into a late first rounder. Totally worth it if the guy wins a playoff game

Can someone tell me at what time the trade window actually closes today.

If Palmer wanted to come he could easily restructure. He has already said he doesn’t need the money.
