Raiders place DE Shaughnessy on injured reserve

The Raiders freed up a spot on the 53-man roster for quarterback Carson Palmer by placing veteran defensive end Matt Shaughnessy on the injured-reserve list.
That makes Shaughnessy ineligible to play for the Raiders again this season. He suffered a shoulder injury against the New York Jets on Sept. 25 and has not played since.
The Raiders held out hope that his shoulder might heal at some point this season. However, it appeared as if things weren’t going to improve enough for Shaughnessy to help out this season.
Jarvis Moss, Desmond Bryant and Trevor Scott are expected to fill the void in Shaughnessy’s absence.

Why all the predictions that Carson will throw at least a pick. Not against KC without Berry.

Gotta figure starting on a short week he’ll make at least 1 mistake
I dont even think Boller would have thrown an INT this week against KC. This is a perfect week for Carson to start. KC is very bad, on both sides of the ball and are going to be dominated. 42-10. And the TD will come in garbage time. Dont let those two wins KC has fool you. Against IND and MINN, two teams that are just as bad. Our players are going to come out on fire for this game, and DMAC will have 200 all purpose, easy. Carson wont even have the opp to throw an interception.

  • mcfadden20.

    So close yet so far

  • The Big Banana

Crap! Was hoping he’d heal up in time for late season and playoff run.

  • hwnrdr

Well, Moss and Bryant have been doing a helluva job in Shaughnessy’s abscence! let’s Go Raiders!

  • mcfadden20.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Carson will pass over 500 yards this week lol j/k

  • Bummer.

    Sho’ is a beast.

Bryant looked good out there last week, and Moss is also a stud.

Hope Sho’ the best and to get healthy for next year!

  • mcfadden20.

So who’s going to take over at LG if satele can’t go ?

  • Can Jon Condo play DE?

Wonder what his Madden LB rating is, lmwao.

  • mcfadden20.

I hope to see Bruce Campbell sometime this year

    My guess would be Heyer.

  • mcfadden20.

Condo is prolly the worst lb in the NFL but the best long snapper

  • Raiderbuck

Man injuries are eating us up! Need to get the guys in better shape! 🙂

  • Also, don’t forget to add Palmer to your Fantasy teams (I grabbed for two out of my three).

  • mcfadden20.

Is he a natural LG over convert from tackle?

Hate to say it bro, but…. Bruce Gradkowski!!!

    LOLOLOLOL, okay.

I was a Grads supporter. But Gradkowski giving us as good a shot as Palmer? HAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHHAHA…no
I’m not saying as good as Palmer, I’m saying a shot at continuing to win this year….

Joke of the day here….Grad never in his career had a win streak or won back to back games….why in world would ya think he can get a team to playoffs?

  • mcfadden20.

Does anyone believe that we could have even more better line with wiz at C ?

  • Silverandblack666

I think right now we have the best O-Line in the league allowing the least amount of sacks and currently #2 in rushing.

Good situation for a new QB!

  • I think we are getting pencil whipped.

DHB only caught one pass for a 1st dn in week 5?

    Check the tape.

If I’m wrong, I’ll change the score.
It’s hard for me to catch every play by every player, so this list is certainly unofficial.

TDs don’t count as first downs.

  • mcfadden20.

Why are we in here talking about gradkowski or russel or even Campbell , Carson palmer is our new QB and that’s the reality so get used to it

  • qodrn

    Bring back Davis II!

  • inonewordraider

Shaughnessey injury prone in college, hope this doesn’t become a trend, big loss

  • John David Booty

And this is why Shaughnessy was drafted in the late 3rd, instead of late 1st-early second. Could never stay healthy. Hopefully he is able to get his body in gear and come back ready next season because he is a complete monster and we are at an advantage ANY time he is on the field.

DHB gets us a 1st down every other catch he makes

  • DonManoukiansNeighbor

At least with Palmer we might see more Moore. Instead of them force feeding DHB.

Palmer can find his favorite WR now.

This move also sends a message to other players in the league that the Raiders are set on winning and in the post AL Davis days we get more FA interests.

    Raider Nation strikes again!

Somewhere on the streets drives a police officer who made an enemy of Michael Crabtree.

The Niners wide receiver tweeted yesterday that he was pulled over by a police officer on his way to the airport and detained for 30 minutes (no reason given, but he’s an athlete in a nice car so speeding seems like a safe guess), causing him to miss his flight. Crabtree’s explanation? The cop was a Raiders fan and “didn’t like the Niners.”

We can only imagine that the cop (or perhaps CHP officer) came into work today, donut in hand, bragging to all his friends about how he pulled over the Michael Crabtree. Hopefully a dashboard camera video a la Oregon’s Cliff Harris appears on the web soon.

why not place JC on IR even if he comes back 4 qbs?

Yeah but one of those sacks was JC tripping over Mcfaddens feet.
