WR Houshmanzadeh working out for Raiders on Tuesday

Coach Hue Jackson said the Raiders will work out veteran wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh on Tuesday.
Houshmandzadeh and Jackson were with the Cincinnati Bengals at the same time, along with new Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer.
Jackson said it’s uncertain whether Houshmandzadeh will be signed. He just wants to see what kind of shape Houshmanzadeh is in these days.
And, no, the workout doesn’t have anything to do with the history between Palmer and Houshmandzadeh, Jackson said. He wanted to work out Houshmandzadeh as far back as training camp.
Jackson isn’t sure whether the Raiders would carry seven wide receivers if Houshmandzadeh is signed.
“We’ll see what’s best for the team if we did sign him,” Jackson said.

My two cents is that I would prefer the Chargers to win tonight to keep KC down.
If they have home games against Miami and Denver after tonight, they could concievably be in 1st place alone by week 10 if they win tonight, riding a 6 game win streak.
Dont want to see that. Would rather have a 2 team battle between us and SD, than have the Chiefs hang around all season.

Houshmandzadeh said that he has never approached either offensive coordinator Cam Cameron nor starting quarterback Joe Flacco about his concerns, but he is still saddened by his role on the team’s offense.
“Q [Anquan Boldin] is going to be happy. That’s just the reality of it,” Houshmandzadeh said. “Q and [tight end Todd] Heap, they’re going to get their balls. They brought Q in, they gave up draft picks and gave him a nice contract. They’re going to find ways to get him the ball. I can appreciate that because I thought that’s what I was getting [in Seattle]. I wish it was me. But it’s not.”

Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting that the Bengals’ other starting wide receiver, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, also is expected to skip the start of the voluntary conditioning program. Houshmandzadeh is in the final year of four-year contract and is scheduled to make a base salary of $2.525 million, and he thinks that, coming off a season in which he tied for the league lead in receptions, he’s worth more than that.
Skipping conditioning might not be a huge issue: Houshmandzadeh also skipped the team’s voluntary off-season conditioning last year, and he still managed those 112 catches. So maybe he doesn’t need to be with the team in March to be ready to play in September

Tebow starting is a good thing by all accounts. Our defense must be disciplined enough to see that he never crosses the LOS. Tebow doesn’t do pressure well. So we should squeeze him until he pops. Tight coverage on the receivers, pressure on Tebow, and we get either a sack, a turnover or an INT.
As AD said, “the QB must go down and must go down hard”. Let it be written, let it be done.
Our offense needs to simply beat the crap out of their defense. Ram the ball down their throats, crossing the T’s & then chunk it over their heads for a TD just to dot the i’s.
We need to put Tebow out of his misery but only after we score 60 points!

Murphy is the weak link and odd man out if TJ Whosyourmama comes aboard. Murphy looked slow & lost out there last week. He hasn’t appeared to have fully recovered from his injury. That could be his Achilles heel. Hagan is a solid vet who shows up when called upon. He’s a solid third down go to type guy and that’s important when you need a first down.

Being I wasn’t a Carson Palmer until…well, last week, I say “hell no” to bringing in TJ. Anything that makes him feel like he’s back in Cincy gets two thumbs down off top. I’m all for him getting an entirely new fresh start and ain’t nothing new about “Carson throws to TJ, misfires, and….Interception” followed by TJ whining up and down the sideline. I love Hue as much as the next die-hard Raider fan, and I spared him with the Carson move being we did need a starting QB, but bringing on TJ gets him a check mark on the “not cool” side of the paper.

There is no way I can root for either the dolts or the chefs. The AFC west plays pretty much the same teams, so there is no real difference either on the schedule, glad to know the Raiders don’t play Pitt.
The dolts have already played their weak schedule too, but don’t sell the chefs short either. True the Raiders got beat and were playing without Campbell and DMac, but the chefs showed up to play, and did win the division last season.
Same thing could happen tonight, the chefs played the dolts close in their last game who were coming out of back-to-back whoopings. Now they got 3 in a row, they’re home and rolling. I couldn’t believe my eyes but there was Romeo Crennel leading a defense that got 6 INTs with 2 pick sixes against the Raiders. There probably isn’t much of a chance the chefs can beat the dolts, but weirder things have happened.
The Raiders shouldn’t worry about who wins tonight, they need to worry about how they’re going to overcome the change in QB and focus. Carson Palmer might throw better passes than Campbell, but he’s a standing stature, either he learns to get rid of the ball or move quicker. At least with Campbell you knew he would extend plays by moving around. The play calling for Carson will also change to fit Palmer’s style and knowledge of the playbook, the entire offense has to adopt and adjust.
Obviously, the Raiders offense’s short term future for this season has to be DMac, as good as Bush can run and Taiwan Jones promises, without a healthy DMac the Raiders have very little chance, with DMac as a stellar back, putting at least 100 total rushing and or receiving yards a game, the Raiders offense can survive Palmer. You have to expect the other team’s defenses to adjust to stop DMac, and force the Raiders’ hands. HueJax has to keep the ball in DMac’s until they stop him.

Carson will need some time to come up to Raider Speed, we are arguablly the fastest WR’s in the league. We don’t seperate well, take wrong angles when we do, I don’t blame JC for missed throws, he was smart enough to see this and not make PI’s, I give him credit. We should resign him.
I also belive in signing Carson, he is the best bet out there, there is chemistry between him and Hue. Hue is trying to surround himself with the best players available, and some are older, like myself, but I still believe. Losing AD, is sad, losing my Raiders, incomprehensable!

Murphy still needs to work the rust off. I too, have to question TJ’s signing and Hue’s push for this. This is going to stun some of our younger WRs growth.
If McFadden needs another week off, so be it, I rather have him ready for the Chargers. Next man up! BTW, hey Hue, if we’re all about the next man up, why are we signing TJ?
On defense, we need a spy on Tebow this week. Someone that can stay with him and not miss tackles. That means Huff won’t be the guy. I vote for Mike Mitchell. Size, Speed and attitude to knock off Tebow’s block. Curry would also be a good assignment, but is it too early to trust him with something this big?

I dnt think we need TJ or anybody else for that matter but if we did why not T.O. I think he has a lot more left than TJ and he also played with palmer and I dnt think seymour would let him get out of line. I think this donkey game will be a good test for our offense champ bailey is still decent and so is dawkins and dumerville who always gives us trouble I think if we put up close to 30 on their D then we are where we need to be. The division is ours for the taking with SD losing but we must get our offense rolling to protect our on again off again D
