When was McClain horrible?
On the Ponder runs????
=================================
Name one play he made. Early in the game he repeatedly gets wiped out. He is continually late to the point, and then gets blocked out of the play taking other defenders with him.
——————————————————
Peterson and Gerhart combined to rush 13 times for 44 yds.
Just trying to zero in on your McClain complaints.
Perfect game? No. But horrible????

Wow. On ESPN 1st Take this morning, the question was asked: Who would you take in the 2012 draft? RG3 or Luck? Skip Bayless and Jamelle Hill both said they would take RG3. After watching the OU game, can’t argue with them. It’s going to be an interesting draft process.

I’ll take the win but the Raiders deserved to be ripped for that game. They blew a comfortable lead and nearly found a way to lose it because of those penalties. Barnes false start on the goal line was a killer. Stop blaming the refs ya all.

There is nothing Jerry can do because the little turd has a direct twitter feed. Its like forcing Newt Gingrich to hang a poster of Clinton in his office.

The Bears D is nasty matchup for us. Hue needs to get a really good gameplan together to negate their LB corp from dominating the line of scrimmage.
November 21st, 2011 at 10:27 am
Curious to see how well Hanie plays against us on Sunday. That guy nearly brought them back against the Pack and was much more effective than Cutler during last year’s NFC Championship Game. Not saying it’s not a break for us to avoid Cutler, but Hanie isn’t necessarily a bum. Could be a bit of a wildcard.
November 21st, 2011 at 10:28 am
I would think mis-direction runs, the reece trap game implemented was nice surprise and effective … you have to keep the bears moving around, if you let that Defense just run downhill, they kill.

November 21st, 2011 at 10:30 am
Bears have not been good at stopping the run lately, but if their pass rush disrupts Palmer and the WRs then stopping the run will be a lot easier for them. Need a better performance out of the right side of the line against Chicago.

Not overly worried about it. Our o-line can hold its own against anyone, anytime. Bush just posted the first 100 yard rushing game against the Vikes’ D in a long while.
Briggs and Urlacher and Peppers and others on that Chi-town D are definitely formidable, don’t get me wrong. It’ll be fun to watch. Hopefully our guys play with some fire in their belly.

Minny had a tougher run d than Chicago and we fared pretty well against them.
Our offense should have no problem putting up 24 pts which should be MORE than enough to Chicago with their backup QB.

To beat the Bears, run and keep on running. Caleb Hanie is no Jay Cutler. Force him to march the field and beat us. The Bears pass rush is very good. I prefer we just pound the rock and not give them turnovers and easy points.

November 21st, 2011 at 10:47 am
Yeah, but no matter who we play (qb, bad team, good team) we give up points. The least we allowed was 17 to browns and dolts.
We can’t dominate defensively, BUT we can do enough to give the offense extra possesions/field position.
I have said it a bigillion times and the 6 wins proves it statistically …
when we stop the run we win.
6 wins allowing 75 rushing yards a game.
4 losses …. you dont even wanna see what we give up lol
hold forte to 60 rush 30 rec and we win

November 21st, 2011 at 10:51 am
I like the Bears tight end screen. Hue has to be aware of that play. I think Hue should put that play in his game plan on offense. I think the Bears will be playing two deep safeties alot on passing plays so the Receivers should be able to work in some dead zones. The Bears linebacker drop quite deep, quickly themselves. The Raiders QB and receivers must be on the same page this game. If the running game goes as planned the safeties may start creeping up for support and the Raiders can drop the passes behind the safeties. The Bears are well disciplined team. I hope Hue present a well disciplined team in the Raiders this week.

Said it last night and will say it again. Solomon Wilcotts and that officiating crew need to be banished to doing Browns-Jags games forever. Wilcotts is either a shameless company man, incompetent, or has no confidence in himself to critique glaring officiating incompetence and just chooses to go along with whatever and black-and-white stripers are serving up on any particular play.
Either way, it was an all-around disgrace.

Yeah but even after that, the Raiders built a 20 point lead going into halftime. There were no other penalties that helped the Vikings score after that. There were no penalties that kept the Raiders from scoring. The refs are not the reason the game was so close.
So I’ll say it again: Quit blaming the refs. The crappy offensive play in the second half is what was the problem. Eight drives = 3 points? You got to be fkn kidding me. No excuses for that sht.

Have you heard total reps on defensive. The defensive of the Raiders are on the field way to often after they have held their opponents to 3rd down and long. later in the games it shows!!!!
November 21st, 2011 at 11:11 am
Score more than three points in 8 second half drives = comfortable win.
But hey, keep the goggles on and pretend like everything is perfect except for the officiating. I sure hope Hue knows better than you.
November 21st, 2011 at 11:11 am
Question of the day: What’s up with all these hamstring injuries? Now Moss, Moore & Tiwan Jones are reported to have hamstring related “Nicks”. It’s getting to the point of being ridiculous the number of professional athletes down with this particular injury.
Different subject: Phantom personal foul penalty calls – I rewatched the game in slow motion last night and the calls on Tommy Kelly for unnecessary roughness on the QB, the call on Curry for unnecessary roughness on an unprotected receiver and the call on Branch for the face mask grabbing all simply weren’t there. That’s 45 yards in three call on one drive. In addition, they call a hold on the Vikings that negated a TD and that hold simply wasn’t there. Not only did this officiating call blow those calls but they also screwed up a down call which required the Vikings to call a TO to get it cleared up – another officiating screw-up. Shortly thereafter we took our first time out and the referee announced it as our second TO – another error. And, this was only the first half. HueJack is correct to challenge officiating like this. The particular official team in question is by far the worst I’ve seen all year.

The Raiders being one of the leaders in penalties for a decade now is suspicious as all hell!
I have watched alot of football and played alot of football in my 36 years of life and the Raiders do NOT and I repeat do NOT make that many more penalties than the rest of the teams in the NFL!
The officials always look to call more penalties on the Raiders on a consistent game to game basis. It’s obvious. Players around the league know it and objective fans know it and especially Raider Nation fans know it.
Even if I wasn’t a Raider fans I would know something fishy is going on when it comes to officials and refs calling games one sided when it comes to Raider games.
It’s ridiculous.
I hope Hue brings tape from Raider games and the penalties that have been called on them compared to the teams that have played against them and some tape from the Ravens, Steelers, Pats, Saints and Whiners.
See what they are doing sooooo right and what we are doing soooooo wrong.
It’s a joke.

Yes, I agree, the schedule is tough ahead, we need to play a nice game at home and get to 7-4. I don’t want the last game against SD to matter … That way Boller can play his heart out in that one LOL.

Please go find that comment. You won’t be able to because I didn’t say that. You’re mistaking me for someone else. The critical comments I made about Palmer were his INTs in those first two games. But he’s played great the last two weeks and I had absolutely no issue with him yesterday. You’re putting words in my mouth.
Anyway, I’m a “hardcore fan” of any Raider that wants to be a Raider, plays hard and wins. That includes Jason and Carson. Both have winning records as starters here.
But Jason got injured and it’s over. I’ve said as much. It’s not even up for debate any more. There’s no Jason vs Palmer when Jason can’t even play. So I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.
My only issue with Palmer was what we gave up for a 32 year old with a severe injury in his past and a penchant for throwing picks at crucial moments. But if it pays off, I’m cool with it. I will reserve judgment on that trade when it’s fully consummated after the 2013 draft.

November 21st, 2011 at 11:40 am
I’m sorry but Deion Sanders is another superficial, worthless TV analyst. Last night when asked if the SD Chargers are done he said, paraphrasing,:
‘No, I still expect them to make the playoffs because the division they’re in (aside: which is collectively only 0.5 games under .500 at the moment). I don’t know how long the Tebow thing is going to work in Denver — although I believe in Tim Tebow (aside: ???) — but I still think the Chargers are the best team there.’
Didn’t even mention the division-leading Raiders. So somehow it’s a race between the 2nd place Broncos and 3rd place Chargers all of a sudden.
Pffft.

LMAO. Saw Kawakami’s column today ripping the Raiders. This guy will find a way to pizz in the champagne bottles if the Raiders win a Super Bowl.

Really? You think that was a rip job? He was only stating the obvious: that the team will need to string four strong quarters together to a) make the playoffs and b) go deep into the playoffs.

Tebow mania has to end sometime. Rivers can do enough on offense to beat Tebow. He still can’t pass the ball. Chargers did a good job of stopping Bears running game.

Pffft.

I think the Bolts will pull it out IF they run the ball with Tolbert and keep feeding it to him. Can’t rely on Cry Me a Rivers to throw the ball 35 times anymore this season.
Don’t know if the Dolts can contain Tebow and that mis direction spread option running game though.

This Caleb Hanie guy played sharp in the NFC championship game last year, that and being that the raiders don’t play well at home this year make this another hard game, one that we WILL HAVE TO SCORE in the 4th quarter to win.
November 21st, 2011 at 11:58 am
Hmmm, Aig. OK, you got me on that one. I admit it. And I was probably quite inebriated at that point, explaining the memory loss.
But I wasn’t wrong with my observations on that play. I went back and reviewed to make sure I wasn’t completely off-base:

That was all Bush. And it was an ugly pass. LOL At least I can back up what I said that day.
Again, I was very happy with Palmer last two games. Quit turning yesterday’s squeaker into a JC vs CP argument. There was no reason to go there. I didn’t say sht about Palmer yesterday.
November 21st, 2011 at 11:59 am
Lots of commentary about Hue’s play calling.
I don’t have any problem whatsoever with the somewhat conservative, run clock/milk the lead, approach taken in the second half.
For the most part, I thought the play calling was very good. I thought the shovel pass was executed beautifully and was a great call. Saw some misdirection and delays not employed previously. Would have liked to see more passes to backs coming out of the backfield and screens, but overall I liked the game plan.
What I’m most surprised about – since this place is so busy second guessing the play calling – is not a single comment has been made about the play call that deserves to be second guessed.
Talking about the QB draw on 3rd down with no time outs left and only a few seconds remaining in the first half.
It’s a good thing Palmer scored or some heads around here would have really been exploding.
Gutsy call and it worked, but you’ve got to question the tactical soundness.
November 21st, 2011 at 12:03 pm
Does anyone else’s blood boil when you see people like Tebow/Ponder escape the pocket and get big yardage? It drives me insane.
November 21st, 2011 at 12:05 pm
We need to see more passes and screens to the RB’s.
I also want to see Palmer go through his progressions and bit more do more pump fakes to keep those Bear LB’s off balance!
Hue also needs to use more and more play action.
I also want to see more running inside handoffs from the shotgun formation or at least more fakes.

———————-
BS. That pass from CP3 went down the field for 7 yds and Bush went the rest into the endzone. That was the right read because the LB couldnt keep up with Bush. That wasnt like JC dumping off to DMAC for 2 yds and DMAC taking it 70 to the house like in Jax last year. Yet you’re whining about CP on that pass. What exactly was ugly about it? Lack of tight spiral? Who gives a fudge. The pass got there and it hit Bush on the proper side of his body to allow him to keep his momentum moving forward for the TD. I dont care if it was thrown under handed. You’re a loyal JC fan and you will never be happy with CP3. You know it and I know it.

Aside from bogus penalties and other calls against us nothing has driven me more nuts in my life as a Raiders fan. Especially in 3rd and long situations.
You get the air-tight coverage. D-line collapses the pocket. And a mobile QB just takes off and gets a huge chunk of yardage. Elway used to kill us with his legs on 3rd down back in the day.

If Palmer doesn’t score, we don’t get any points at all. There wasn’t going to be a FG attempt. The situation clearly called for a pass. Guess Hue was banking on the element of surprise. If Hue believes he is going to the playoffs (and he does) why not get seabass healthy and help us win when we need him most? My only guess is Hue figures teams will do some things diffrently with a diffrent kicker playing for the Raiders. I.E. Not worrying about long distance field goals. I really don’t know what Hue’s logic is with this one. I’m sure Jano doesn’t want to have blocked kicks and kickoffs that look like pooch kicks on his resume lol

November 21st, 2011 at 12:24 pm
Heres the thing so many Raider fans cant wrap their heads around. The refs don’t manufacture penalties when the Raiders play. They call the penalties that occur, here is the fact though, the silver and black reputation for being the most penalized team eliminates any of the ‘reasonable doubt’ aspect and makes the refs call everything as they see it, where as with other teams these calls may slide. The interesting fact is, for years, while we lead the NFL in penalties, our opponents also lead in penalties. What I mean is if you add up the penalties against our opponents for the 16 game season they have damn near as many penalties as us. THAT is perfect evidence that the refs officiating Raider games call EVERYTHING to they see. Either way.

Score more than three points in 8 second half drives = comfortable win.
But hey, keep the goggles on and pretend like everything is perfect except for the officiating. I sure hope Hue knows better than you.
_______________________________________________
Hue made 2 very important comments.
1. He defended his team after some very bad calls and really a season of them. I’ve never seen a PI overturned like happened to Jacoby against NE. Never seen a team have 4 Personal Fouls, certainly not 2 on the same drive. Every week we get some ridiculous call against us…usually on 3rd down…usually on defense. These things make a difference. If it’s us against the world now his team knows which side he’s on. They backed him after the donkey debacle with 2 road wins…now he’s doing the same, galvanizing his locker room and will take a fine for them.
That’s a good leader of men.
2. He also said that the 4th quarter drought for 5 games is his fault and that he will make sure it gets fixed.
Hue may be a rookie HC. Prone to his own mistakes and knowing when to be aggressive, when to dial it back.
But one thing he is, is accountable.
Every man can appreciate that.
This is the type of coach that men love playing for.
I for one am glad we have him.

I think you nailed it there. No reason to even get mad at the guy since he probably hasn’t even put an ounce of thought into what he says. He’s just up there stylin’ and profilin,’ as the kids say (or at least, as they did in 1991).

But hey, keep the goggles on and pretend like everything is perfect except for the officiating. I sure hope Hue knows better than you.

Jackson upset by officials’ treatment of Raiders
“I understand that I am a rookie coach and maybe I don’t get all the calls,” he said, via the San Francisco Chronicle. “But there is no way some of the things that happened should happen.
“Sometimes I would get talked to as if they didn’t know what I was asking. I just don’t think it was fair. I asked several times for explanations and wouldn’t get them. … We can’t get the ref over here when there is a break in the action, but he is over there on the other bench having conversations with them. I have a hard time with that.”
A couple of calls Jackson might have been angry about Sunday included personal foul flags on Tommy Kelly and Aaron Curry, as well as a situation where the officials had to change a fourth down to a third down for the Vikings because of an oversight that occurred two plays earlier on the drive.
Jackson says he’ll call the league about the matter today.
“I want us to have the same opportunity that everyone else has in this league,” Jackson said.
Or, at the very least, he just wants somebody to listen.

over-looking it a little much …. its not that oakland is bad in wins, its that they haven;t put together 4th quarters of football yet … 27 to 7 at half was expected. the final should been 41 to 17. they will get it togther soon, don’t forget they are winning without stars: McFadden (best player on team) and Jacoby Ford’s big play ability … Huff is still not 100% and the list goes on and on. rookie coach, newly acuired QB … this team has been thru so much adveristy, I beg to differ.
OAK fought thru a lot this year. They are a strong team.

If BresnaCRAP was any good

Gtown,
Chuck B’s defense produced 5 sacks, 3 INT’s and a forced fumble yesterday.
without CJ37, Chekwa, ShoNasty, Goethel & Eugene
Seymour was playing hurt w/o practicing all week!
what more do you want ???
——————————————–
I understand the stats, they say one thing, the game says another. I can understand the penalties, those do hurt the defensive effort, but look at the leads they have blown and how many games they have to hang on just to win. Do you think a veteran QB loses that game yesterday? Ponder made *rookie* mistakes yesterday that cost his team. That team yesterday should’ve never had a chance to be in the game had the defense held. Instead, the offense makes changes from the first half to the second and the Defense does the same thing and ends up gripping at the end. No defensive adjustments. KC, Denver, Buffalo, Cleveland, Vikings, all made changes and scored effortlessly while Bresnahan sits on the side lines looking like Art Shell. If you can shut down a team to 10 points or less in the first half, why are they doubling their scoring in the second half?

Case in point – Bresnahan elects to put Joe Porter on single man-to-man coverage on Wes Walker and he gets beaten to a 9-158yd performance and then he cuts the guy the next week. Your game plan was to put a barely used DB on the best slot receiver in the NFL, give him no help and then cut him because he couldn’t keep up? Bresnacrap is out-coached and is out of his league. He is an Al Davis re-tread and I don’t doubt that he will be gone in the off-season. Too late to change DC now.
