Raiders game sold out _ sixth in a row

The Raiders game will be on local television for the sixth consectutive game, with the club announcing a sellout Thursday.

Status quo on injury front, according to coach Hue Jackson. Expecting it will be much like Minnesota, utlizing Richard Seymour on third downs if he’s good to go.

Area of most concern is wide receiver, although Darrius Heyward-Bey, in Jackson’s words, “ran around” during practice. Jacoby Ford is out of his protective boot, but hasn’t practice. Denarius Moore was a spectator Thursday as well with a foot injury.

T.J. Housmandzadeh returned to practice the day after his wife had a baby, giving the Raiders another body at practice to go along with Chaz Schiens, Louis Muprhy and practice squad player Eddie McGee.

Have a happy Thanksgiving.

Hey guys just wondering .. Is this Campbells last year do we have an option to pick him up for another year … I really think they should pick up his option go next year and make him the best Backup QB in the league and trade him for a 2nd rd pick to a team that gets their starting QB injured during the season

  • Silverandblack666

yes JC is a free agent after this season.

  • mcfadden20.

    Plunk for

  • mcfadden20.

    President

Just hoping that Hue knows that he will have more WR available…. would he realy enter a game with 3 WR’s? Is he that cocky? Against a team we will have to throw against to win?

  • YoungAmerican

The thing about McFadden is that, while he’s one of the most dynamic players in the league when he’s healthy, even when he’s healthy he’s not unstoppable. Teams with defenses that possess a lot of speed on the perimeter have been able to effectively contain McFadden.

McFadden is also one of the highest-paid players on a team in desperate need of salary cap relief. Youngsters like Branch and Shaughnessy need long-term deals, and with so few draft picks this season the Raiders would need to look to free agency to make any necessary improvements.

Is McFadden worth 8+/- games a year? If his deal gets restructured, absolutely yes. But would he be willing to do so considering his injury history and the already-short shelf life of running backs?

I think the Raiders are capable of finding another RB capable of sharing the load with Bush and Jones in the draft, particularly if they had a couple extra draft picks. Would that player be the caliber of player McFadden is? I doubt it, but that player also wouldn’t cost as much and may well be more durable than McFadden has proven to be. It’s a toss-up, but if means the Raiders have more money to improve the defense and build for the future? Could be well worth it.

  • mcfadden20.

Code black all day every day

  • mcfadden20.

McFadden will reconstructure his deal n with our passing game , we need stuff like McFadden .. If hd can stay healthy.. Nobody have a better combo of passing and running than us.

  • joetoronto

    Right on, YoungAmerican.

Maybe it should be Bush starting and Dmac spelling him.

  • mcfadden20.

Bush starting with dmac spelling him lol

  • joetoronto

Ah, ya. Coming in to give him a breather.

  • raiderinparadise

If McPlain wants to prove something, its Sunday. Forte is their leading rusher and reciever and as far as I’m concerned he has to be everywhere he is.

  • mcfadden20.

    Code black code muthafukkin black

  • Just Fire Baby

There isn’t a team in the world that would trade a second and third for Mcfadden. Rb’s are the least valued position in the nfl and through his 4th year now he is averaging missing one game a month.

  • mcfadden20.

Mcpain needs to play like a probowler every single week … For vein drafted so High maybe we need to go to 3-4 next year if mike singletary is available

  • R8derdiehard

You guys are trippin talkin about getting rid of DMAC. YEAH LETS get rid of our best offensive player. Thak god yall dont run the team. The viking should trade adrian peterson as well cause he gets injured and has a problem with fumbling….lol!!!!!

  • Carl Weathers

YA, More money to improve the defense?

Players on D are making more than the O. Kelly, Seymour, Routt, McClain, Wimbley, Huff all make BIG bucks. Then you got CJ soaking up cash( he’s already replaced with Chekwa & DVD), Branch is probably due a new contract soon. Get used to this D because I don’t see major changes coming anytime soon.

  • Carl Weathers

Now if we can shell out some cash for a top D coordinator, now your talking!

  • mcfadden20.

I just hope the guy can get rid of his feet problems so that we can freaking dominate the NFL with running and passing

  • mcfadden20.

Yup we desperately néed a top DC , I think we have the talent to b a top D in this league

  • PlunkforHOF

Did you order the CODE BLACK? DID YOU ORDER THE CODE BLACK!!??

  • mcfadden20.

Imagine our O with a D like ravens .. Damn we will b unstoppable

  • mcfadden20.

Yes I did Plunk yes I did.. What’s good

  • davidon

    Whats going on with McSchilens?

  • mcfadden20.

    Plunk for president

  • YoungAmerican

Kelly and Seymour are both 30+, in the next year or two the team needs to get younger at DT (and find another option at DE if they move Houston inside).

WLB and CB are also still question marks. No one knows what Chekwa or DVD will be long-term, although both will get a chance to prove themselves over the next couple years. Neither have stood out enough that Hue (and whoever else may be calling the shots after the season) won’t look at upgrades if any are available. Curry is a FA soon as well.

  • mcfadden20.

Hahaha Davidon . Same ole foot problems

  • YoungAmerican

DC is also something the Raiders need to look at, for sure.

  • PlunkforHOF

Just chillin, not much work to do today..

  • R8derdiehard

Ravens d os great cause of ther players rex ryan was the bada$$ d-cordinator and hes gone its all about the players we got the talant not the disciplin

  • mcfadden20.

What happened to that guy goethel?

  • YoungAmerican

You guys are trippin talkin about getting rid of DMAC. YEAH LETS get rid of our best offensive player.

    ——————-

To be the best offensive player, you have to play in games.

The Raiders have been winning without him, and Bush has been running the ball as well as you could ask of any RB in the league.

  • mcfadden20.

It’s the system and the scheme all u need is have someone in your originazation learning the system in case the D cord gets a top notch job and then promote that guy n u don’t miss a beat

    Question for everyone here:

After this season, if the Raiders got an offer of a 2nd and 3rd round pick for Darren McFadden – would you pull the trigger?
    ——————————–
Any day. He is 1/2 time player, 1/2 time bad foot. DMC is not who we thought he was. Michael Bush is a stud!

  • raiderinparadise

I think Rod Woodson should move up to DC.

If not Mike Singletary was LB’s coach in baltimore when Hue was there.

  • mcfadden20.

Lewis’s replacement didn’t do bad yesterday

  • mcfadden20.

Rod Woodson? Nah man the guy is still green in coaching dept let him coach DB’s for a while n we will see how he’s doing

  • beach

Suh is a glorified thug. He is damaging the Lions chances of a wild card berth.

  • mcfadden20.

Speaking of R Woodson does anybody realize Branch is getting better because of him

  • R8derdiehard

Bush has been great but dmac would have been even better and would have scored on several occasions wher bush got stopped players get hurt its the nfl you dpnt get rid of your best ones thers a reason all nfl teams keep 2 running backs were just fortunate we have 2 studs

  • mcfadden20.

I thought Suh, with Fairley was going to b a real nice Tandem plus they got that guy Vanden Bosch … But everybody keeps running on them like their not even there …

  • mcfadden20.

Detroit really miss having Jahvid best …

Get your “Sign Bush!” signs ready for the game. There needs to be a sea of them.

Suh may get suspended for a game, but I think that’s kind of garbage. Should he have been flagged? Sure. But I thought it didn’t even merit getting tossed out of the game for that. Players get chippy after the whistle and that wasn’t that outrageous to me.
    ============================================

It didn’t seem that outrageous to me either. And if he really stomped on that guy, he would have busted his arm in three places.

  • mcfadden20.

They can’t pass all day Long. Seems like guys have figured out how to cover C Johnson, the guy is a stud .. Wish we had drafted him instead of that guy ..

  • YoungAmerican

    we have 2 studs

    ———-

As it is right now, we have one stud.

  • mcfadden20.

Code black … Bush really needs someone backing him up the guy gets tired towards the end of the game..

  • mcfadden20.

Jones is freaking injury prone too

  • YoungAmerican

Branch was my pick for MUP, if only because of how poorly he played last season. May have been the worst defensive player last year, but he was due for a breakout season. Kid’s talented.
