Halftime: Raiders 12, Bears 7
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Sunday, November 27th, 2011 at 2:35 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Aaron Curry’s deflection of a screen pass, intercepted by Kamerion Wimbley and returned 74 yards with 20 seconds to play, put the Raiders at the 7-yard line with the help of a Chicago horse collar tackle by Lance Louis to save a touchdown.
With the Raiders unable to get the ball in the end zone in two plays _ no gain by Michael Bush anda 6-yard swing pass to Bush _ Sebastian Janikowski came on to kick his fourth field goal of the half and give Oakland a 12-7 lead.
Janikowski also had field goals of 40, 48 and 42 yards as the Raiders failed on four occasions inside the 25-yard line to score a touchdown and held just a five-point point lead despite intercepting three Caleb Hanie passes.
Following the Bears’ first touchdown, Marcel Reece accounted for 45 yards of a 57-yard drive on a quick screen left by Carson Palmer before Janikowski converted his third field goal attempt of the game, this one from 42 yards.
The Raiders, faced with a third-and-2 at the 24, opted for a Palmer attempt to Chaz Schilens at the end zone which was thoroughly covered by Tim Jennings.
The Bears drove 79 yards in nine plays to take a 7-6 lead, highlighted by Hanie’s 23-yard scramble around right end on third-and-18 to the 23-yard line and a 29-yard slant to Johnny Knox against Stanford Routt, who either thought he had help in the middle or wasn’t playing nearly tight enough coverage.

November 27th, 2011 at 2:37 pm
This is one of those games we’ll win,, but it won’t feel like a win.
November 27th, 2011 at 2:37 pm
Should have been 7 seconds left but second half we better unleash hell!!! And we get the ball back
November 27th, 2011 at 2:37 pm
Clock operator’s are hired by whoever oversees the stadium.
That was ONE OF OUR GUYS JOBBING US!!!
Stop it early and force the refs to change it.
It’s called home-field advantage.
November 27th, 2011 at 2:37 pm
By the way wasn’t the horse collar on the 8? Therefore we should have got the ball on the 4?
November 27th, 2011 at 2:38 pm
i sure hope we dont regret not tryna score a touchdown there. also raiders coulda called a timeout with 8 secs left .. but yall needa fall up off hue… i wonder how goood u all would do ya 1st year in any high profile job ? geesh
November 27th, 2011 at 2:38 pm
JFB-love it,but we know the officials on the field keep the official clock.
November 27th, 2011 at 2:39 pm
What a miracle we’re still winning. It’s going to take a great effort and key adjustments during half time to pull out a win.
First order of business, we need to replace Murphy and Schilens, they just can’t get any separation and their route running really sucks. What’s happened with them, please explain someone…please!
November 27th, 2011 at 2:39 pm
Thats true Schilens and Murphy suck…
November 27th, 2011 at 2:40 pm
we should have had 4 TD’s not for 4 Fg.s
November 27th, 2011 at 2:40 pm
Murph and schillens are both terrible right now.
November 27th, 2011 at 2:40 pm
i bet u guys couldnt direct porn movies ? bet u guys would catch hell doin what i done bein a corrections officer at a maximum secuurity penitentiary ..
im jus sayin . hue gonna screw up . bill belicheck had to make mistakes at cleveland and im sure still does.
November 27th, 2011 at 2:40 pm
Just fired baby…ya, i noticed that too and couldn’t understand it. Couldn’t hue challenge, was he aware we got robbed. What the fuzk!!!
November 27th, 2011 at 2:40 pm
Lefty,
Yes the refs have the official clock, but if he would have stopped it with 6 or 7 seconds, the refs would have HAD TO MAKE THE ACTUAL CHANGE, which clearly they would have not because there was no evidence.
Our own Bay Area resident, tax-payer, is either drunk or a Bears fan.
Ridiculous!!!!
November 27th, 2011 at 2:41 pm
No passion (Murphy) should be benched in favor of Houshmanzadeh!
November 27th, 2011 at 2:41 pm
we need guys to get healthy now. wish we had kept hagan. housh is done.
November 27th, 2011 at 2:41 pm
If Curry had held on to that ball it would have been a TD.
November 27th, 2011 at 2:41 pm
Marios…ya, you’re absolutely right…why didn’t we get the balk on the four!!!!! What the fuzk!
November 27th, 2011 at 2:42 pm
The clock guy needs to be looking for work tomorrow. That could have been a back breaker. Hopefully this team feels like their leaving points on the field because they are.
OH YEAH!
FIRE BRESNAHAN – Why on earth do you blitz 3 on 3 and 8 with the offense showing 4 wide? Someone please explain the logic of that. Especially when you don’t blitz on 3 and 18 and rather than run a zone you choose man to man so everyone’s back is to the ball.
CHUCK is a problem that must be addressed in the off season. Winston Moss for DC and Reggie Mackinze for GM anyone?
November 27th, 2011 at 2:42 pm
murphy is running scared. schillens aint running at all. no speed out of the backfield is hurting us.
November 27th, 2011 at 2:42 pm
its actually not tottaly hue anyway. why when a team wins the superbowl everybody gives the whole coaching staff credit ? hmm ? i mean guys get hired at colle jobs and head coching positions ..
the o coordinator is considered a genius . but when a team loses its only the head coach ?
see… the entire staff has to get it together . we got guys on our staff that been coachin longer than hue they need to help him with these decisions
November 27th, 2011 at 2:42 pm
Raiders over 41.5 and Redskins at Seahawks over 37 doesn’t look good
November 27th, 2011 at 2:43 pm
The real question is why did the side official take his sweet a$$ time before blowing the play dead?
November 27th, 2011 at 2:43 pm
Of course I didn’t have them check the official time. I have no idea how to coach.
November 27th, 2011 at 2:44 pm
houshmanzadeh is useless . louis murphy is super talented he jus got back have patience. ill take our wrs any day . dhb and schillens too ? shheeet!! dem boys can ball .
November 27th, 2011 at 2:45 pm
hope jano did not re-injure himself.
November 27th, 2011 at 2:45 pm
n I believe Bush ran out of bounds… shouldnt the clock by stopped by the side official instead of having us call a time out?
November 27th, 2011 at 2:45 pm
louis murphy aint played in 4ever . hes not used to gettin hit yet
November 27th, 2011 at 2:45 pm
murphy is playing like puzzy
November 27th, 2011 at 2:46 pm
I like these games against toigh defenses.
12 pts a half is pretty damn good.
Putting up 20 pts on this defense with pretty much nothing at WR would be impressive.
I’ll take 3 more nice drives that end in FGs. That should be plenty they way our D is playing.

Offense will be on another level when we get DMac, Ford, and Moore back.
GB game is going to be pretty good!
November 27th, 2011 at 2:48 pm
What the fuzk is going on…I can’t deal with this shzt and more. My heart isn’t going to hold out.
We need some key adjustments. Palmer isn’t getting any time whatsoever. Bush isn’t getting any offensive line help in that they’re not even opening up a crease for him to run through….nothing for Bush to run at.
Hanie is getting all the freaking time in the world to pass in…if Cutler was back there we would be losing by 20 points plus!????
God all mighty…what the fuzk is going on?
November 27th, 2011 at 2:48 pm
but uhh . how come taiwain jones aint comin in as a change of pace back & bein used in rb screens and such ?
November 27th, 2011 at 2:48 pm
F Patience. I’ve been patient for 8 dang years. I want wins. I want them now. I want them in dominating fashion.
November 27th, 2011 at 2:48 pm
Yeah…Why did we bother with Housh. I thought he was so smart he knew the play book in a day.

November 27th, 2011 at 2:49 pm
our o tackles are gettin pushed back like crazy . 1st time this has happened all season so i wouldnt panic. but u say if cutler was playin ? really ,, if dmac and shaughnessy were playtin wed be up 20 – 7
November 27th, 2011 at 2:49 pm
Come on Boys, lets take it down the Field
November 27th, 2011 at 2:50 pm

Hue Jax needs to get his head outta his a$$. He seems to be WAY TO PASS HAPPY. He’s not feeding Bush enough. He’s calling play like our true starters are out there. Gotta repect Chicago’s D. He gonna get Palmer killed and then “What”…
Chuck B isn’t making things any better.
Like what I’m seeing so far 2nd half.
November 27th, 2011 at 2:54 pm
OK…I forgice Schilens.
November 27th, 2011 at 2:54 pm

November 27th, 2011 at 2:58 pm

November 27th, 2011 at 2:58 pm

November 27th, 2011 at 2:58 pm
The Bears have one of the best red zone defenses.
We don’t have a backup HB unless you want Cartwright.
How many of you were complaining last week when Bush got over 30 carries again.

Playoff teams are gonna kill us, if we can’t get this SH!T fixed. We go from scoring the most points in the league in the 2nd quarter to being unable to get anything but field goals with excellent field position.
I’m glad Jano’s Hammy is good. Hope we don’t blow it out again with all of these damn kicks…

November 27th, 2011 at 3:06 pm
Hanie was just complaining to the ref about a late hit that wasn’t called.
Keep an eye on this later. I got a feeling that same ref will bail him out next time and keep a future drive alive.
November 27th, 2011 at 3:06 pm
Its time for the o-line to get erect and pound Bush through the crevice of the Bears d-line and get some distance on the scoreboard.
November 27th, 2011 at 3:07 pm
We need seven bigs ones right now. If we get them, I promise not to raider and plunder the English coastal lands this week. I’ll be good, I’ll behave…just get me the freaking win.
November 27th, 2011 at 3:07 pm

November 27th, 2011 at 3:08 pm

Like I said … 3 nice long drives in the second half that end in FGs should be more than enough to get outta here with a win,

November 27th, 2011 at 3:25 pm

November 27th, 2011 at 3:25 pm
I thought CP was gonna carve them up. He seems a little off today.

CP is off because he’s getting pressure and is missing his two main targets….he is not into DHB.
November 27th, 2011 at 3:29 pm
196..At least put Pryor out there to get some exercise
November 27th, 2011 at 3:29 pm
Murphy could be wide open and Palmer wouldn’t throw it to him. If I were the Bears I wouldn’t even cover him.
November 27th, 2011 at 3:29 pm
Our tight ends have disappeared.
November 27th, 2011 at 3:29 pm
Schilens can stay, but Murphy and maybe DHB have to go.
Also, we can’t get into the red-zone so many freaking times and only come away with three each time. Seabass is priceless today.
November 27th, 2011 at 3:40 pm
DHB is fine
November 27th, 2011 at 3:43 pm
OK, I forgive DBH, if the plays remains and it’s a first down.

November 27th, 2011 at 4:08 pm
Murphy palmer and bush came thru in the clutch
November 27th, 2011 at 4:30 pm
We freaking did it….important, critical must win. Wow, I forgive Murphy and Schilens. However, we can’t go deep into the playoffs if we can’t score in the red-zone. Hue, you’ve got to stop running the freaking ball on every first and 10. Stop that shzt, you’re too freaking predictable.
