McFadden, Ford, Seymour and McClain not practicing

Wide receiver Denarius Moore returned to practice today after missing all of last week, as well as the game against the Chicago Bears.
The news isn’t as encourgaing for running back Darren McFadden (foot), receiver Jacoby Ford (foot), running back Taiwan Jones (hamstring), defensive tackle Richard Seymour (knee) and middle linebacker Rolando McClain (foot). All five are not at practice.
However, Ford is at least on the field, running from one side of the end zone to the other. He said Monday that he didn’t plan on practicing today but might give it a shot Thursday.
Fullbacks Marcel Reece and Mansae Tonga are practicing without any obvious effects from recent injuries. That gives the Raiders the prospect of having both fullbacks at full strength for the first time in awhile.
Even though Moore is back at practice, T.J. Houshmandzadeh is the one fielding punts. That likely is just in case Moore suffers a setback this week or aggravates his injury Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
Three officials are working practice today, as has been the custom all season. The Raiders committed only six penalties for 44 yards against the Bears on Sunday.
The Raiders still are on pace to break the NFL record for most penalties (158) and penalty yards (1,304) in a season.
Cornerback Chimdi Chekwa posted on Twitter today that he is going to get his shoulder fixed once and for all. He supposedly was placed on injured reserve because of a lingering hamstring issue. Perhaps he is just addressing the shoulder issue as long as he has the time.

    It’s a great day to be a First-Place Raiders fan. Isn’t it?!

The Raiders would be foolish to think Miami is anything less than a dangerous opponent. Lately, Miami’s been playing much better football than how they started the year, and they do have a few weapons.

Exactly. This is a much better Miami team than their record indicates. Defensively, they are a good team. And any offensive line with Jake Long and Mike Pouncey is going to be tough to crack. Their secondary is also very good. Matt Moore is also better than advertised. The one plus we have is Moore is not quite the threat to take off that Ponder, Teblow and Hanie are. That being said, Q’s running has been such a problem, you can expect Moore to take off and still get 5 yards a pop.

  • Nobody is fighting but I cant get Peymour Bish to stop humping my leg.

GoodOle00 He is not hurt worse than reported…If you Google Lisfranc injury, planter fascitus and mid foot sprain it will give you a very good understanding of the anatomical makeup of the foot, as well as, the importance of the ligaments structure as it relates to the skeletal weight distribution of the foot…If you look at the skeletal structure of the foot and all the weight that it barest, it really is amazing that such small bones provide the support for the entire body…The ligaments really are almost like the bonding agent that keeps the small tarsal bones in place….Hope this helps….

Auto posted a link about mid foot injuries in response to my DMC may be hurt worse than we think.

    A link he never read.

I understand basic podiatry. I also understand 2-3 weeks for really bad sprains. I also understand he was hurt Oct 23rd.

I also understand Hue said there was “no structural damage”.

There are 3 degrees of mid foot sprain. 1st degree. Sprained and brusied. Prog? 2 wks.

2nd degree. Partial or some tearing 3-4 weeks

3rd degree completely torn. Can take up to two months.

If DMC suffered “no structural damage” thats a hell of a simple sprain especially with “no structural damage.”

    “Hope this helps.”

  • I disagree, the common ground stops right there.

  • The Raiders have had a tendency to play down to their competition, plus it’s a early game…..and the Dolphins are good against the run.

Tyvon Branch must play the most difficult position in the NFL. Safety for Oakland Raiders. Last time someone filled the role and excelled his name was Rod Woosdson, perhaps the most complete DB in NFL history.

I am very worried if both Seymore and Mclain (who have been subpar) dont play…talks a bunch about value of players.

If anyone doubts McClain’s value to the defense, just watch how confused and out of position the defense looks when McClain goes out and Blackstock comes in.

The Miami D is good…. But I think our offense will score more points than they’re offense will score on our D…

Agree. even though Mclain looks reallys low sometimes, his absence is seriuosly felt. You need all your talent on the field in order to convert Chuky B’s pathetic scheems into a 27th ranked D.

508…Don’t insinuate or assume anything….Those situations that are referenced are in a perfect case…It takes into account nothing as far as swelling, slight tearing or anything…And that is for and individual to walk not an elite athlete…Let’s put him out there so you can have him on your fantasy team and win your office pool…You understand basic podiatry…Do you have a medical degree….I didn’t think so….Next time i’ll give you the same treatment as Sully….I let you insult pas once…I get more accurate medical information on the Raiders with a 30 second phone call than you can get in a month…..

  • Seymour Bush

There’s a couple of things that stand out about them, they are down in the turnover battle and their offense is pedestrian at best. But now that they have both Reggie Bush and Matt Moore, their offense has come to life. They still have a rookie at center. What that means is it is time for Kelly and Seymour to school his ass. And Moore not being incredibly mobile, he is a bit of a target back there.
