McClain released on bail
By Steve Corkran
Thursday, December 1st, 2011 at 3:00 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Decatur (Ala.) Police Dept. Lt. John Crouch said via phone that Raiders middle linebacker Rolando McClain has been released on bail, which was set at $2,000 as a result of his being arrested and charged with four misdemeanors.
Raiders senior executive John Herrera said the team doesn’t have any further comment on the matter. This came about two hours after Raiders coach Hue Jackson said, “We feel very comfortable with our information” and that he expects McClain to play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
Jackson spoke before McClain was arrested and charged with the four crimes related to an incident at a Decatur residence Wednesday night.
McClain was in his native Alabama to attend his grandfather’s funeral, Jackson said.

Looks like Rolando was cherry-picking on the fight, like he tries to cherry-pick on some tackles.

I’ll say this and be done with it, cause not everyone is aware of how things go down in the hood.
If this dude threatened me or the fam, he got what was coming to him (not one punch less or one slug more) but you have to worry about retaliations at this point.
If Ro went off on this dude and was the aggressor just for kicks, well…. yall ever seen Juice? Not a guy you want around a team trying to break through to the next wrung.
Also, with this incident and the one earlier in the year…. why are people gunning for him? I know a lot of MFs from the hood that make it big time will bank roll less-than-legal operations, particularly drugs. Gotta wonder if he’s the Ghetto Bank Loan Officer.

. Another man identified as Jerradius Willingham, 23, was charged with assault and released after posting a $500 bond.
Police said the victim, whose name was not released, suffered injuries to his head and face during a fight with Willingham. He was bleeding when officers talked to him.
“The victim told officers that following the fight, he crawled to his car,” the police statement said. “He said that when he reached his car, Rolando McClain produced a pistol and aimed it at him. He said that while he was still on the ground, McClain walked over to him and put the gun to his head.”
December 1st, 2011 at 3:10 pm

Fire the 2nd class, talentless jackass. All I ever see of McClain is that he is on the losing end of big running plays in which the opponent gains at least 50 yds: unsuccessful arm tackles, cartwheeling ass over tea kettle runner beyond his grasp, and assorted idiotic mis-plays. To add injury to insult McClain is the defensive captain – no wonder the “D” sucks so bad. This current incident shows that McClain hasn’t the intelligence to become a great player. Of course Hue swears and be damned that McClain is the greatest player since sliced bread, but Hue said that about Jason Campbell, who, with the introduction of Carson Palmer, has been proven to be a complete schlub. Somewhere, somehow, the Raiders need to form a talent development team to truly assess talent, now that Alzheimer’s AL is dead (thank god!)and can no longer interfere and coddle dumbass, untalened players.

Again, Curry is the only player on the roster who can adequately handle ANY of the responsibilities a 4-3 MLB has. Blackstock is not a viable option. The downside to moving Curry temporarily is that it’s a downgrade at OLB, but at least Groves has some starting experience and occasionally played serviceably.
Still, the Raiders need to look to FA, and even at other teams’ practice squads if McClain is going to be out for an extended period, especially if it’s going to be in the playoffs.

He’d never taken any snaps at WLB until coming to the Raiders, either.
He’ll have the headset. All he needs to do is listen to his coordinator. No other player on the roster has the range to take on the MLB position.

I’d be willing to bet money the victim is fabricating his story and is only implicating McClain for a pay day. It is unfortunate but some people can’t stand another man’s success and Mr. McClain needs to realize this. He is a target and can’t fight with a bullet. He was shot at in January in his hometown. There is no telling what some of these players were into before becoming proffessional football players, but there are two sides to every story and I won’t speculate on what occured until the facts come out. At the end of the day, good decision making is vital to the longevity of an NFL career, not to mention the blessing it is. Don’t let it become a liability Mr. McClain. Appreciate it, work hard, and Just Win Baby! In Hue I trust!

Viqueens released McNabb….maybe he can play MLB for us?
He can miss tackles, fail to shed blocks and quit on plays just as well as McClain I am sure!

In Alabama and other parts of the deep south, shooting yourself in the leg to see what it feels like is not that uncommon, I’m not kidding.
December 1st, 2011 at 3:39 pm
He’d never taken any snaps at WLB until coming to the Raiders, either.
He’ll have the headset. All he needs to do is listen to his coordinator. No other player on the roster has the range to take on the MLB position.
The Raiders are so afraid of putting Blackstock on the field that they’ll force an injured McClain back into the lineup.

McClain has been charged with third degree assault, menacing, reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm inside the city limits. His bond was set at $2,000.
Willingham has been charged with one count of assault in the third degree. He was released on a $500 bond.
Earlier this year McClain was involved in another shooting incident in Decatur. Police say shots were fired at McClain’s vehicle. No one was injured in that incident.
=========================================
2 shooting incidents since the beginning of the year, and his play on the field has really not been very good. LB’s are probably the easiest position to fill. Sign Lofa, or Keith Bulluck, or move Curry over, and waived this POS.

Criminal activity, though, cannot be tolerated. Do we know the whole story? Perhaps not. I am concerned about this kid as a human being. He has let his team down and the fans. Thank God he didn’t shoot somebody. No more excursions during the week, period! Somebody better be keeping an eye on this guy!!!

Could not be more disappointed with McClain. Just put together his best game of the season, on an injured ankle no less. This is how you thank your coach and organization for letting you travel home? This is how you pay respect to your grandfather?
There may very well be extenuating circumstances. The other guy may very well have started the altercation. But for f***’s sake, man, think of your family, your daughter, your career. Completely stupid. The veterans on this team need to sit him down and have a good long talk with him. Surely plenty of them have seen colleagues of theirs go down the wrong path. It is the second time within a year McClain has been connected to an incident involving gunfire in his hometown. Last Jan. 28 in Decatur, police responded to a report that a Chevrolet Tahoe owned by McClain was fired upon and recovered a bullet from the rear hatch.
There were no arrests or charges in that incident.
McClain also is facing a Morgan County civil suit filed in November of 2010 by an Alabama student which claims the former Crimson Tide start hit him with a car and assaulted him in 2008.
Stanford Matthew Mangham is seeking $75,000 plus punitive damages, saying McClain hit him twice in an intersection with his car, then slung him to the ground, causing permanent injuries.

All this talk about next man up if McClain misses any games. Back at Auburn, Q Groves played the middle and was a beast at it. I wanted the guy back when he came out but Jax took him. Groves was all over the place bussing LSU up his last two years at Auburn.
I think Del Rio clipped his nutz or something when he got to Jax. But he was a beast at Auburn in the middle.

I think the one game Blackstock played at MLB was the game we gave up 316 rushing yards, which was one of the worst performances in Oakland Raider history.
Let’s not try to roll the dice and see if that was a fluke.
Last years run D, with Rolando as a rookie, shaved off 20 yards per game from the previous years rushing ypg.
We are 2 yards off per game than last year, with the stat skewed because of Blackstock’s game.

The Take On Rolando McClain: A Step Slow
Score: 165
September 23, 2011 11:47 pm
A step behind. After rewatching the Raiders game yesterday I came away with the sad realization that Rolando McClain was always a step behind. I watched this early in his career, and thought it was just a rookie thing, that he would start to dominate soon. Especially after a few body slams got us all excited.
Unfortunately, the occasional body slam is not what silver and black defense needs. They need their big, strong, smart first-round middle linebacker to make plays. They need him to lead this defense when they are leading by four points, on the road, with a chance to start the season 2-0. Instead, he kind of “floats” around the field, just a step short. If you watched Urlacher early in his career, you saw a guy who may have been out of position at times, but he had such good instincts that he was right more often, and most of all, he made plays all over the place.
On running plays, he steps toward the line, plays patty cake with the linemen as he tries to figure out where the play is going. Oops, it just went by on his right. Oops, the left this time. Then, he can’t really chase the play because he doesn’t have the type of speed. On one of Jackson’s TD’s he slowed down and let the DB’s chase. If he had sprinted all out instead of jogging, he would have been able to tackle him when he was forced to cut back and maybe even cause a turnover.
On pass plays, if he blitzes, he doesn’t get there. He either gets picked up too easily or doesn’t time it well and gets caught in no man’s land.
If he covers, he does reasonably well at times, but usually, he just can’t keep up with quick moves and drops far enough for the easy completion underneath.
Then, on the biggest play of the season, thus far, he appears to miss an assignment and leave a wide-open receiver in the MIDDLE of the field.
You know, that spot with his name on it.
Note to all the McClain loyalists: I didn’t create this but I figured you should know there are plenty of individuals critical of Ro’s play. Nothing personal, but the guy isn’t getting it done and his play is no better than Nick Millers: Intolerable.

I think Chuck Knoll’s claims of the Raiders being a criminal element was racist. There had been so many dirty football teams before the ’70s Raiders, and any coach would have been laughed out of the room if he’d called them criminals. It was just football, they’d say. Suddenly when you have a black secondary calling themselves the “soul patrol”, you have a “criminal element”.

Because:
1. As of right now its he said vs. he said ( or in this case, millionaire vs. non millionaire)
2. this was obviously, not premeditated. And for it to happen the way it did. Rolando had to know who this guy was.
3. People say alot of sh1t when they get there ass kicked…
4. Rolando is big, but he didnt look like he was even touched in the fight
Even though it looks bad, we shouldnt be quick to judgement, because for all we know, the other guy was responsible for firing the gun

If McClain layed it out, told the whole truth and Jackson feels confident, thats very good, if he lied, very bad for him. Jackson is a street smart guy from LA and should know BS when he hears it.
Decatur PD never says anything about interviewing witnesses just the victims statement so all the facts we have now are from the victim which might be all BS.

Maybe Noll made a racist comment, but I doubt it. His teams were notorious for their physical play, and according to many ex-players Joe Greene was one of the dirtiest players around. Mel Blount and Donnie Shell were right up there with Lambert and Ernie Holmes (who did do time), and they played in the Steelers secondary.
In my opinion he was exaggerating a point in order to protect his players.
You make an interesting point, though. He may have been commenting as much on the city of Oakland as the Oakland Raiders and not even realizing it.

Sully,
Yeah, I don’t know. You make an interesting point, and while I do think he was playing up the situation in order to get attention, who knows? It’s entirely possible that he was making a racist statement, intentional or otherwise.
I’m a white guy, born and raised in Oakland in the ’60s and 70s. Went to integrated schools, had lots and lots of friends that were black and honestly didn’t know the difference. That doesn’t mean that I can automatically recognize whether a statement of that kind is racist or not, however, and I think you know what I mean by that.

George Atkinson was famous for deliberately going to the head of receivers, with that cast on his forearm. Perfectly legal though at the time. I think he was the main target of Chuck Knoll in that statement.
I was sitting in the South Endzone at a game in 1975, Patriots. Atkinson is covering Russ Francis down the middle of the field, but the ball went to an outside WR. Just at the end of the play, away from Atkinson & Francis, Atkinson swung that thing on his forearm, hit’s Francis in the face, broke his nose, no penalty!
They were hoodlums.

Ed, I believe terms that could only provoke a response if applied to a certain race are racist. If Don Imus calls a white girls’ basketball team nappy headed hoes, it doesn’t work. Just because the words “nappy”, “headed”, and “ho” have definitions exclusive to race doesn’t absolve the terms of being racist. If Knoll called a white secondary that played dirty a criminal element, it just wouldn’t work. He’d sound like a whiner.
——————
Seem to recall the outcome of Chuck Knoll’s case was not in his favor. Davis produced game footage of the Steelers hoodlums. Case dismissed.
Diff game back then.

December 1st, 2011 at 6:24 pm
The courts found Knoll’s claims laughable. Raiders dirty? Without a doubt. But a criminal element? No. It was nothing the NFL couldn’t handle on their own, and they eventually did, by making that type of play forbidden. If the “soul patrol” were the “good ole boys”, and were white instead of black, it never would have made it to a court to get laughed at. It would have been deemed absurd by the entire league establishment from the get go. But Knoll’s claims of the soul patrol being a criminal element had legs, and we all know why.

Difference between this and plax. Place was in a night club with said concealed weapon that went off. It was illegal for him to have said weapon.
From what I can gather from what’s bee reported on this incident is that the guy that was assaulted was either at the home of one of the two men involved, for reasons unknown, or they were at a neutral sight. Since he didn’t flee the scene I would also assume that the gun fired was registered to Rolando. The facts aren’t out and for all we know the victims was the aggressor

At this time no gun was recovered and McClain did not waive his Miranda rights….A GSR(Gun shot residue) test was not performed Wednesday night and by Thursday(Today) any remaining residue could have easily been removed…The only witness to what has been reported about McClain’s actions is the victim…A spectral microscopy analysis would have to have been done on his person in fairly short order to obtain any residue…I would assume any clothing he wore would be of benefit to the prosecution for any trace evidence…McClain was not involved in the altercation that preceded the alleged firearms assault other than being at the
location….These charges are all misdemeanors, however, the charges in the affidavit can be changed if additional corroberating information becomes available….It is going to be hard to prove a shot was fired without a gun, trace evidence and witnesses, so we will have to wait and see…McClain will be available for week 13 in Miami…A suspension by the team absent any conclusive guilt or mandate from a court regarding his guilt is extremely unlikely…..In my opinion this case won’t even be heard until after football season is over, rendering it mute as far as the 2011 season goes….Any attempt by the state to expedite his trial is unconstitutional and would be met by defense requests to delay any legal proceeding….So this story created a big buzz for today but will have zero effect physically for him playing…Emotionally may be another story….We shall see Sunday…..I am only assuming McClain remain in Alabama for the funeral and join the team in Florida for the game on the 4th……Raiders….
December 1st, 2011 at 6:29 pm
I got two things to say bout this McClain incident.
1. I don’t think he did it. One of his boys probably did. Victim wants money.
2. That’s why I stay out of the south. You can shot a gun at somebody and it is a misdemeanor. Left over BS from the jim crow days.

Namdi is being given skittles for an upset stomach. ..LOL.. I didn’t know candy was good for an upset stomach. .. I think namdi is sick because he left the great Raiders for a supposed dream team… he now regrets leaving..
December 1st, 2011 at 6:33 pm
is the second time within a year McClain has been connected to an incident involving gunfire in his hometown.

Yes, Beach, second incident for him, they retrieved a slug from his rabies not to long ago and he’s facing a civil suit for 75,000 in actual damages with the possibility of punitive damages making a settlement or judgement higher…Athletes are not above the law and one can only hope that he turns around his life or he will be either behind bars or dead…Regrettably, I don’t think he or his siblings are aware of the consequences…One would think that the death of his grandfather would be an awakening for him in some respects, however, his lengthy illness was probably more of a blessing than a reinforcement about the sanctity of life and the brief time we spend here…That seems to be the real tragedy….

Ro McBozworth strikes agin. This time outside the field. A half ars high draft pick of a MLB and a bad citizen too? Wow.
I tell you guys, had we had Patrick Willis as our MLB instead of this fool we’d be 9 and 2. We would not have lost to Bills, Broncos. Those two losses are on this fool IMO based on the way tose teams ran up the middle or completed passes in the middle.
Brian Cox the old Jets MLB who was a great LB was one of the slowest players. So maybe the trick is to dig into draft and find a tough and hard nosed LB looking for a collision. I take that over this fool. If Cinci hadn’t drafted Ray Mauluga a spot ahead of us in 2009 we wouldn’t be having this discussion now.

McClain should be released/cut/waived by the Raids immediately.
I don’t care if he’s ultimately acquitted of the charges he was arrested for. That’s not the issue here.
You’re excused from practice and team activities to attend a funeral ? Fine. Go attend the funeral. The rest of your time in Alabama had best be spent rehabbing your injured ankle, studying film, and staying in communication with the staff concerning the game plan for Miami.
Anything less is completely unacceptable.
To be involved in an incident of this nature, demonstrates that Rolando isn’t committed to the Raiders or being the best possible player he can be.
There can be no room on the team or within the organization for individuals of this nature or mindset.
The absurd rationalizations being made for Rolando handling his business the ’street’ or ‘hood’ way are simply intolerable.

Romac should take a cue from a buddy of mine. Caught a gang punk in his yard so he roughed the punk up a bit and put his handgun to the kid’s head then tied the punk to his front steps railing and called the cops. He then stashed his gun and got his wife’s (a stripper) prop water pistol which looks like a real gun. When the punk told the cops he pulled a gun on him he squirted the idiot in the face with the water pistol. The cops were pissing themselves laughing as they loaded the punk into their car.
Always keep a handgun lookalike water pistol around Romac!

If Hue doesn’t dress Romac Sunday it will not just be because of this incident but will indicate some ongoing issues. Otherwise, Romac will suit up until such time as he is convicted of a crime (if he is).

The Eagles had some very good teams. I can’t give Reid credit for being that good of a coach, or McNabb that good of a QB. I’m sure both are considered losers in Philly!

ill say it again, there is NO WAY rolando held a gun to a mans head and had him plead for his life.
December 1st, 2011 at 8:03 pm
Earlier I was flat out furious with this dude. Post #493 basically sums up what I’ve said before, that and his prior incidents and reputation off of the field during college. Don’t get me started on how he is towards the fans.
It’s obvious that Rolando comes from a somewhat troubled background and upbringing. And to him this type of behavior might seem normal to him. That’s how he lived and got by then and it’s how he is acting now. Someone needs to have a serious mano y mano talk with him. He needs to distance himself from his friends and family that pull him back into these situations. He could find himself off of the team or worse, end up dead.
I said on here at the beginning of the season that this guy was a head case. Always watch out for the silent brooding ones.
I’ll wait to here the full story, but it doesn’t look good now.

Lefty who said all v.y. Does is win thats rdiculous
December 1st, 2011 at 8:23 pm
are you implying that RO went looking for this ?
==============================================
No. I doubt he ‘went looking’ for this.
But the fact remains, he put himself in position to find this.
There can be no acceptable explanation or excuse for Rolando to be involved in this type of incident.
As I said earlier, if he was excused from team activities to attend a funeral, that explains him being in Alabama. It wouldn’t explain or excuse him for hanging with ‘friends’ at night where fights are occurring or carrying a firearm.
You simply don’t put yourself in that position when your priority should be rehabbing your injured ankle, preparing for Miami, and mourning the death of your Grandfather.
Forget about ‘looking’ for trouble. Hell, sometimes you can’t avoid finding trouble – even when you do your best to do so. But in this case, Rolando clearly wasn’t trying to avoid trouble. Rather, he put himself in prime position to find it.
Rolando’s first obligation should have been to attend the funeral and spend the rest of his time prepping for the Dolphins. He has an obligation to the team, and the fans of the team, that is paying him millions – to be a productive, professional MLB. Not some gun toting jerk putting himself in a position that endangers his own well being and the Raider organization.
If I was excused from my job to attend a funeral and wound up getting arrested under these circumstances, I’d expect to be fired. I’d deserve to be fired.
Ro must go.

Of course he is. Payday coming baby.
December 1st, 2011 at 8:42 pm
I would say Mr. Woffard has some inaccurate information…Mr. Willingham physically assaulted the victim and caused the injuries that he has sustained…McClain is charged with physical assault with a weapon, menacing, discharging a weapon within city limits and didn’t take part in the fight with the victim…I see no mention of a ruptured ear drum if in fact a firearm was discharged at or near his head, I am certain he would have one…All of those injuries are related to Mr. Willinghams assault…..McClain may have had a hand in luring the victim to get into am altercation, however that is not a crime…
December 1st, 2011 at 8:42 pm
Just to be clear, I am not supporting McClain’s actions, but we have all seen this before…I’ll pass judgement until later when the truth all comes out…
For all we know, it could be tied to the shooting incident in January…could be a ploy to ruin McClain, or blah blah blah…
If The Raider organization cuts him loose, and he gets acquitted of all charges…how would that look? Doesn’t the org stands by its players?
Now about him not doing it on the field and his unpleasantries with us fans…that’s another story…

http://www.csnbayarea.com/blog/raiders-talk/post/Victim-in-McClain-arrest-says-he-was-amb?blockID=604172&feedID=2801
The victim of the assault was 23-year old Rishard Papscott, who says he has been friends with McClain and his accomplice, Jarodiuas Willingham, since before middle school, as the three grew up playing football and basketball together in Decatur.
In a phone interview with Alabama news organization WAFF, Papscott said he was playing video games with friends when another friend invited him over. When he showed up, McClain and Willingham were waiting for him.
“I went over there, it was basically like an ambush, like they set me up to fight because as soon as I got there.. he wasn’t there, the gentleman I ended up getting to fighting with the first time. Then they all went outside and I was sitting in the house, and that’s when they came back in the house and they were like you’re going to have to fight, come back out and fight and I was like I ain’t fighting, I ain’t coming outside.. and that’s when he came in the house and assaulted me…”
Decatur Police say Papscott got into a fight with Jarodiuas Willingham at a house on Skyview Street around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday. According to the reports, Papscott crawled to his car, bleeding from the nose and mouth. McClain followed him to the car, where he brandished a pistol at Papscott’s head.
When Papscott begged McClain not to shoot, the Raiders linebacker took the gun away from his head and fired a shot.
Papscott says he has a mild concussion, a broken nose and some broken ribs. He says he is also having some trouble talking out of the right side of his mouth.
He says he will seek legal action.

Lefty,
I spend 3.5 years in that part of the country recently and I wouldnt be surprised at all if this was a set up. It’s all about survival down there…at least in the neighborhood I was exposed to. Friendship and siblings mean nothing when it comes to money.

Papscott says he has a mild concussion, a broken nose and some broken ribs. He says he is also having some trouble talking out of the right side of his mouth.
But nothing about hearing? That’s one hole…just saying…

I honestly don’t think I can take any more drama this season. I am going to bed and pray that this is the last “incident” this team has to face in 2011. BEAT THE DOLPHINS! BEAT THE DOLPHINS! BEAT THE DOLPHINS!

McClain may have witnesses to exculpate him from wrongdoing in this matter…It is obvious an altercation took place, how this will play out is not something that will be known in the immediate future….I am not real familiar with Alabama criminal statutes, however, I believe they have one year to adjudicate this matter…That can be extended with a waiver of right for a speedy trial…

Where’s TJ BHPriest ben? Haven’t seen him post in a long time now. Just wondering…

When you listen to Hue’s reaction earlier today, he was convinced by McClain’s account of the story that everything was OK. I only hope Rolando told Hue the truth.

I would assume his injuries and there disruptions are accurate…He should seek additional medical assistance regarding his mouth as he probably has a broken jaw…..

This story makes me sick…
December 1st, 2011 at 9:04 pm
AIG-no doubt that is what this is all about. These idiots are just trying to get his money. The best thing McClain could do is get his family out of the area.BTW,according to the article no weapon has been found.Sounds to me like a bunch of low lives trying to get something for nothing. What is the saying-with friends like this, who needs enemies.
December 1st, 2011 at 9:06 pm
You have to realize that he was not arrested last night when the incident happened….From a defense standpoint this fact may be crucial to his criminal defense…
December 1st, 2011 at 9:06 pm
Just got in and I’m jumping into this nightmare late.
I can’t believe this shzt. After going through the Barrett Robbins nightmare the night before our Super Bowl, and now this, nine years later.
If the story is true, Rolando is done and dead. We’ll need to go else where and we will. Next man up because this dude is a cancer and we don’t need idiots like that in the locker room or on the team.
What’s he doing hanging with these kinds of thugs. He’s making the money, he was a number one pick and he’s with the best organization in football. He has it all and he’s going to squander it all and hurt his teammates and our football in the process.
No, cut the dude now, next man up and find his replacement. Maybe the Eagles will give us a 4th round pick.
This is really for shzt.

Also told that McClain was warned before he left this time to stay close to home as people inside fear each time he goes back to Decatur

The #Raiders have had talks about long term solutions but are working with the #NFL to take the proper course of action w/McClain

If Bruce Davis II – LB is available, which some say he is, it is time to rectify an earlier mistake when we let him go in favor of Blackstone, we need LB depth badly. He can slip back right into the D without having to reinvent the wheel.
December 1st, 2011 at 9:13 pm
hwnrdr, I understand what you’re saying and appreciate your desire to see the outcome of this have a minimal detrimental effect on the Raiders.
We’re past the distraction point. It’s a given that the arrest and Hue having to deal with the media will detract from prepping for the fins. That damage has already been done.
What must be considered now is whether McClain’s presence on the roster is in the best long term interests of the organization.
What kind of message does it send when this sort of behavior is tolerated ? What message does this send to the guys on the squad that are dedicated professionals ?
You’re excused to attend a funeral and wind up being arrested for this type of crap, instead of focusing on your obligations to the team ?
Unless this incident is being entirely misrepresented, this type of behavior is intolerable. Serious consideration must be given to releasing McClain.
There’s just no excuse for this type of stuff.

I wonder if this was McFadden or D.Moore if the cut him now attitude would be so prevalent.
December 1st, 2011 at 9:21 pm
Raiderman, you speak very passionate and eloquent, yet, you completely ignore one of the founding fundamentals of America’s uniqueness…Your impassioned remarks regarding McClain completely violate his rights under the Constitution of the United States of America….You can’t be suggestive or objective when it comes to questions about constitutionality… These are rights that have been fought for for centuries…He IS entitled to a presumption of innocence just like you and I would be….You can’t make exceptions based on ones profession….

Lefty12,Aig-raiders,Beach,Hwnrdr,agree with you guys, period!Lets let it play out, youre getting the Southern media and the so-called victims side, much more coming, innocent until proven guilty,in a court, not a BLOG!

Not saying it should be tolerated, but I wouldn’t go too far as of yet. If it is true, then yes…for all we know, he may have been fulfilling his obligation to the team when this went on…maybe not, but as of now, we don’t know…that’s all I’m saying!
December 1st, 2011 at 9:29 pm
Autopalm, You are correct in a legal sense. But if he was warned about this before he left, I don’t think he will be playing this Sunday. If the Raiders are talking to the NFL about action, he is guilty in the court of public opinion. See Casey Anthony or OJ Simpson. The truth hurts, and this mother effer may have put a hole in our chances to win the division. Time for Richard Seymour to “man up” and earn a paycheck. Time for Wimbley to knock out Reggie Bush. Time for more picks from the secondary. Our suspect defense now has one less linebacker. Go get ‘em Blackstock!
December 1st, 2011 at 9:30 pm
On a side note but yet connected, I’ve noted a few comments here and there about: “He’s innocent, until proven guilty.” Not so. That the biggest crock of shzt since the beginning of time.
Also, George Bush, went a little further. After getting us in two wars and cutting taxes so that they couldn’t get paid for…and thus throwing us into a recession…that wasn’t enough damage. So, he passed the “PATROIT ACT!” and now you have no rights, whatsoever, if they want to target you. We’re in the beginning of “I don’t know what,” but it could become real bad. Massive unemployment, wall street and corporate creed, disfunctional government, etc. etc.
My bad, and I apologize for the side trip. But, this bull shzt with Rolando McCain has me pissed. Sorry.

December 1st, 2011 at 9:35 pm
Very disappointed with the situation Ro put himself in, much more the position he puts the Raiders in without him. He hasn’t been the spectacular MLB’er most of us thought he would be but he’s done a good job QB’ing the defense. The games he’s missed in his career, we’ve allowed +250yds rushing in each of those games.

We’ve only heard 1 side of the story and a lot of folks are already jumping to the victim’s story. Let’s let this thing play out and if he was guilty then throw the book at him.
December 1st, 2011 at 9:38 pm
IMO, he’s a dumbass for getting himself into this, but we fk’n need him. “Cut him now.” WTF!!!!!
December 1st, 2011 at 9:43 pm
Autopalm, please don’t get me wrong. I’m all for ‘innocent, until proven guilty’.
Rolando might turn out to be innocent of the charges against him.
The LEGAL and CRIMINAL charges.
I don’t see how he can be innocent of the charge of failing to meet his obligation to the RAIDERS. He has an obligation to stay focused on being the best MLB he can be for the Oakland Raiders. That means rehabbing injuries, studying, and being a professional. Not being even remotely involved in this type of nonsense.
The Raids don’t need a CRIMINAL conviction to come to the conclusion that McClain is guilty of dereliction of duty to their own organization.
