McFadden and other key players not practicing

By Steve Corkran
Wednesday, December 7th, 2011 at 10:59 am in Oakland Raiders.

The early signs of the Raiders getting back running back Darren McFadden and any of their other injured key players aren’t looking good, based on the first day of practice in preparation for the undefeated Green Bay Packers.
Running backs Darren McFadden (foot) and Taiwan Jones (hamstring), wide receivers Jacoby Ford (foot), Denarius Moore (foot) and Chaz Schilens (foot) and defensive John Henderson (knee) aren’t practicing today.
Jones, Ford and Moore on Monday said they were hopeful of being able to practice this week. However, it appears as if their injuries aren’t healing as well as expected or hoped.
There’s still plenty of time for them to get back into the swing of things before Sunday’s game. The same can’t be said for McFadden, who hasn’t done any football-related activitives since he suffered a mid-foot sprain Oct. 23.
At this point, it’s almost inconceivable to envision McFadden playing Sunday. It’s likely that the Raiders are targeting the Detroit Lions game Dec. 18 for McFadden’s return.
Coach Hue Jackson said Monday that he doesn’t expect McFadden to miss the rest of the regular season. The fact that he didn’t rule it out has to pass as a major concern.
On the bright side for the Raiders, defensive tackle Richard Seymour (knee), middle linebacker Rolando McClain (foot) and tight end Kevin Boss (hip) are practicing.
Quarterback Jason Campbell was expected back in early December. That hasn’t come to pass yet. Campbell still hasn’t been cleared to practice, more than seven weeks after he suffered a broken right (throwing arm) collarbone and underwent surgery.
The Raiders waived tight end Kevin Brock and linebacker Jeremy Leman from their practice squad. They signed running back Lonyae Miller and linebacker Carl Ihenacho to take the place of Brock and Leman on the practice squad. Miller and Ihenacho are practicing today.

    MMM,

I don’t want to argue. Of course, I want a win in Green Bay. I will feel much more confident at 1:00 Sunday if our receivers can play. That’s all! One Nation, Raider Nation!

been preachin for a while now.

Out of all the guys we lost, Miller was the biggest loss.

Nnamdi was overpaid, Cable was over-his-head and Gallery is over-the-hill.

Disagree. Boss is just fine, IMO. We haven’t gotten him involved enough.

    We miss Nnamdi the most.

  • saladfingerz

realistically i think we need everyone back and health to beat GB. i have my fingers crossed. anything could happen, but i think it more likely that we run the table starting with the lions.

  • LA to TheBay

McFadden jumps out of a wheel chair Paul Pierce status and goes to war.

Lisfranc = no coming back for the regular season.

“I take full responsibility for not having this team ready to play this week against Miami.”

    TRANSLATION:

“Several of my players asked if they could have a night out on the strip on South Beach cause that’s where some of the most beautiful women in the world are, and I said yes.

Therefore I perfectly understand why they all played without any energy, because they had all lost 3 quarts of man seed the night before.

I know the great Raider players of the 70′s used to do things like that on a regular basis, and still play on Sunday and kick everybody’s azz, but they don’t make these kids today like they used to.

I take full responsibility and I won’t ever allow them to do that again.”

I have seen the numbers where Tampa Bay gave the Packers a fight. You have to control the clock (about 33 minutes is nice) and be able to put SOME pressure on Rodgers. We need Taiwan Jones to play! Bush can’t do this all by himself!!!

Has McFadden spoke to the press?

Curious, DMAC goes down in the Chiefs game…he looked fine walking the sidelines…wonder if he ran his mouth to Hue regarding Boeller or Palmer being worse than Soup and got himself in the doghouse.

This prolonged injury story just doesn’t sit right with me…

Only saw the low-lights from the Vikings defense, but NFL network was showing the Minnesota CBs were letting the Denver WRs run right past them.
    _______________________________________________________

YES! I saw the game, and I am completely convinced that the game was fixed!

I have never seen CB’s let receivers literally run right past them like I saw last Sunday in that Denver game.

Tebow mania is at an all time high, and I believe that the league wants to ensure that Denver is in the playoffs.
    ———–
So you’re not just saying that the refs fixed the game, but that the LEAGUE contacted the Vikings front office, who in turn met with the coaching staff, who in turn met with the players and told them “psst?? the league wants us to lay down on this game, and let them win. If necessary, you dbacks let them blow by you, and if necessary, want the offense to turn the ball over. Whatever you have to do to lose, the league wants us to do it.” Armchair? You are arguably the dumbest rock on the planet. Seriously. Think about what you said, and the channels it had to go through to make it happen. Are you really this stupid? Seriously, ARE YOU REALLY THIS STUPID??

Vikings coverage lapses were a joke on Sunday. Everyone’s getting excited that Tebow can throw it now. Well, sure, if the defense drops the coverage 5 or 6 times and leaves a receiver all alone 25 yards down field. That’s one way to do it.

Don’t overlook the Miller signing today…Miami was able to focus on stacking the box from tackle to tackle and eliminating Bush as a runner. His strength’s are straight ahead. Miller will be able to get outside the tackles and stretch the defense. It was an excellant signing that has not gotten much press but with the absence of DMAC and TJones, Miller has the ability to make the defense play the entire 50 yards of the field, not just the box….
