WR Moore returns to practice; McFadden, Ford still out

Wide receiver/punt returner Denarius Moore provided the Raiders with a bit of welcomed good news by returning to practice Wednesday.
Moore has been sidelined with a sore foot since he sprained it against the Minnesota Vikings on Nov. 20. He is fielding punts and catching passes on the field right now.
Meanwhile, running back Darren McFadden is nowhere to be seen. He has missed the past 52 days with a midfoot sprain and there still isn’t a timetable for his return this season, if at all.
Wide receiver Jacoby Ford (foot) and running back Taiwan Jones (hamstring) are working on an adjacent field with a team trainer. That portends their being a realistic shot at one or both returning in time for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.
Wide receivers Chaz Schilens, Darrius Heyward-Bey and Louis Murphy also are practicing despite getting banged up at some point against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Defensive tackle John Henderson (knee) and free safety Michael Huff (hamstring) are not practicing today. Both suffered injuries against the Packers. Cornerback Chris Johnson is not practicing, and he was not on the field as a spectator, either.
Center Samson Satele (shoulder) made it to practice despite his injury against the Packers.

True…except the Chefs game McFadden was injured in he generally tore the chefs up

  • J Hill

Anyone else look at it this way?

    ——————————————————

    Not yet.

I haven’t seen Palmer put 3 bad games together.

  • Silverandblack666

One dimensional teams usually cant make it for the long haul. Which is why we are all saying the Tebow experiment will eventually fail.

So far it has worked but I doubt they will win a playoff game. Just my opinion.

  • Al

Palmer is a good QB, hte problem is he still doesn’t have the timing down with he’s receivers, plus half of the receivers are hurt so he hasn’t had them all together, I think next year with a full offseason I think Palmer will show up right now it’s just not there

    ================

how did i say he was garbage? no i said he isnt as good as newton and i stand by that. he has far better talent around him and plays for a much better team.

nice try, but come up with your material and stop jocking my style

I agree… The Wheels will come off the Tebow wagon sooner or later…. I think we’re into Later already… I can’t believe the luck he’s had… Along with a very good D

I think Palmer will need the rest of this year and Training camp next fall before he’s fully comfortable… And of course stability in his recievers

  • fingers

    507…I’ll second that….. Just get healthy…soon( now)

  • Mistic1 Tha Supavillain

for the record i didnt predict palmers flop either, i only voiced concern that he has struggled lately in his career, and quit when things got rough. I also said that the evidence points to a continued decline.

I did say i would wait and see what he is about, while others instantly anointed him as the greatest qb since gannon.

so far he hasnt even been the greatest qb since andrew walter

SD is balling cuz Gaither stepped right in and has been pass protecting very well.

    ==========

it would be unfair to say palmer has flopped, but he is getting dangerously close

  • imaquaman

509.agree its almost like starting over every week with a reciever you have less than three hours of playing time with,,

  • inonewordraider

your a fool because you always try to come off as someone that was fair and behind JC, as if i would forget that you were dead set against him

    __________________
your a fool because I said we should trade for him and when he did I thought it was a great move. You should get your facts right before you throw them out. And when Troy was available you said we should pick him up now your saying you didn’t want him? so you’re a fool and a liar

They have been playing desperate these last 2 games. That’s the way the Raiders need to play these last 3 . NO holds BARRED! SUPER SMASH !

  • oldschoolraider

Fire the team doctor and the trainers.
It’s their job to get the injured players back on the field, not to baby a bunch of prima donnas.

How many players have been out with hamstrings this year?
Have they heard that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?
Someone is not doing their job, find em and fire em!

Not sure why it is never mentioned, buy Veldheer’s last month of games has been in the Kwame Harris level of play.

Tons of penalties, and terrible pass-protection.

the book hasnt been closed, but 14 turn overs with at least 7-8 picks dropped by the defense?!?!

yes that is close to flopping, and i doubt any body would be that patient with any other qb on this roster

If Palmer has camp next fall and healthy Recievers and still slings int’s allover , then you can use the word flop…. Let’s just be fair about it..

  • Mistic1 Tha Supavillain

palmer was brought in to take us to the playoffs if we dont get there it counts as a flop

im willing to look at next year on its own, if he turns it around, but he was brought in to win this year. so if we dont make the playoffs this year i will count it as a miserable flop job of mammoth proprotions

JFB you killed me on the tebow thing, you were right he is “a thorn in our sides” as i beleive you put it.

  • imaquaman

524,the price we paid he’ll be here awhile so he automatically gets more than half a season to be judged ,but less time than a number 1 overall ,i hope

  • fingers

For the Price Hue paid for Palmer you can bet he’s gonna get every opportunity to have sucess…. Or fail… But He will be the starter next yr

  • HayesDaze37

It’s a great day to be a Raiders fan. Isn’t it?!

Tebow revolutionizing the way the game will be played??

    No.

Want to see Offenses run the way Tebow runs his? Find some old film from the 1920′s-50′s. There’s are reasons QB’s don’t run that much anymore — their Offenses are more predictable, and they get hurt more often.

A QB battering-ram’s career will be short-lived. Even if the style of play were revolutionary (it’s not), it won’t last long.

Average QB’s don’t have long shelf lives. If Tebow can’t pass the ball as well as run it, his days of starting in this here League are even more numbered.

NFL players grew up playing in, and against, Offenses that rely on QB runs and options…it’s amazing how many players (and coaches) can’t figure out how to stop it now. No wonder everybody’s embarrassed when they fail to.

  • J Hill

    Month???

Chicago game was a C. Peppers is a HOF talent though.

    Miami game one(?) killer penalty.

    Kwame Harris like????

I have more of an issue with the interior of the Oline who defenses CLEARLY have no respect for.

I’ll give Satele the benefit of the doubt and say that he is playing hurt.

    ———————————-
True ! WE gave up a 1st and second for this guy to come here and WIN NOW. If we wanted to wait and see until next year why did Hue give up all those picks now ? Could we not have waited to get Palmers elite arm in the OFFSEASON ?

  • CJ Legend 34

Let me put things back in perspective.

Palmer 1.5 avg picks a game. Has nothing to do with rust that is his game. Go back to Cincy if you think I am full of it.

  • fingers

Mystic…. Fair enough about give him the benefit of doubt next season…but if we don’t make the playoffs this year it will be Defense…. Not Palmer that’s to blame..

  • fingers

Their may be some that would blame No playoffs on Palmer but I’d say it’s defense…

  • J Hill

SD will be 1 game back of us (and the donkeys) with 2 games to play and they are healthy at some key positions.

    I’ll say it again …

I’m glad the Donkeys beat SD!!!!!

  • DeuceDeuce

Palmer says we have to win out…

also says us and the Lions have the best defensive fronts in the league..

Must mean were gonna lose out. :(

  • RaiderReggie

All I know is that Carson Palmer has thrown 13 interceptions “THIS YEAR”. At least Jason Campbell protected the ball and check down to the tight end or running back when the called play was not available. With the best punter in the NFL, that was smart of Jason Campbell and thats what Carson need to do. You can’t give your opponents a half field and expect to win. Carson Palmer has a strong arm and is trying to be superman out their getting picked off. Carson need to play smarter and check down if the play is not there PERIOD!

  • CJ Legend 34

Tebow’s a good kid amazing how he is finding a way to win. His faith is part of his game like it or not.

It just kills me that he is on the Donkeys.

He may even turn into a passer before it is all over. The sky is the limit for this kid.

  • inonewordraider

Cp played horribly last game. Cp played horribly versus KC and Den but I give him a pass on those. Yet his passer rating in all of these games was higher than JC’s versus SF last year… Care to comment on this?
