Ford, Jones, Huff ready to roll; McFadden on ice

Wide receiver Jacoby Ford, running back Taiwan Jones and free safety Michael Huff are practicing today, which makes it two straight days for all three and increases the likelihood of their playing Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.
The same can’t be said of running back Darren McFadden, who still isn’t healthy enough to practice and has missed the past 67 days with a midfoot sprain.
Coach Hue Jackson said he isn’t fond of using players in a game if they aren’t able to practice at all the week beforehand. In McFadden’s case, he might need a whole week’s worth of practice just to shake off the rust and get back into game shape.
Therefore, it’s almost a foregone conclusion that McFadden won’t play against the Chargers. It’s about the time when the focus should shift to whether McFadden would be able to play again if the Raiders qualify for the AFC Playoffs.
Even that seems like a long-shot, given the Raiders wouldn’t get a first-round bye and their first-round game would be either Jan. 7 or 8.
Defensive tackle Richard Seymour is back at practice after missing one day because of an illness. Fellow tackle John Henderson (knee) still isn’t healthy enough to practice. Henderson has to be very doubtful for Sunday’s game, at this rate.
Ford, Huff and Jones don’t appear to be experiencing any lingering effects from injuries that sidelined them for multiple games. In Ford’s case, he missed the past six games.
The only question is, will Ford be healthy enough to add kick-return duties to his workload. Jackson said Wednesday that he isn’t sold on that idea just yet.
We’ll check with Ford today to see how he feels about pulling double duty after being sidelined since Nov. 10.

I am a big Michael Bush fan, but he needs to kick it back in high gear this Sunday! We need him to get 100 + yards from scrimmage.

    ***

I see Bush getting 95 on the ground and maybe 15-20 receiving

  • fingers

We’re scoring Td’s this week…. Won’t need any fake schidt

  • raiderinparadise

I say run the same Fake FG. why not?

Of course it’s all going to come down to Veldheer-Wiz-Satele-Carlisle-Barnes kicking some royal arsse!

If the Raiders make the playoffs, it won’t be the wildcard …

If we win and Denver loses, who do we play at home?

Patriots, Ravens, Steelers, Texans or Bengals (yes, they will win) ?

all of those are TOUGH games!

  • RaiderRockstar

who is the class of the NFC?

I see the G-Men handling Dallas with Romo banged up.

Packers, Lions, Saints, Falcons, 49ers or Giants ???

  • raiderinparadise

OAk win and Den loss =

    hosting the steelers.

Gonna be a tough game… But I see the Ravens getting by the Bungles by 3…

    LOL!

I’d rather try to Lechler fake punt pass to Rock Cartwright …

  • RaiderRockstar

Raiders would whip the Steelers with Carson Palmer at the helm.

I hope we get to play them at home. You know Little Richard wants another peice of Roethlisberger!

  • fingers

The Ravens want that seeding….they don’t wanna go into the playoffs with a loss to the Bungles….. And Tebows over rated and media hype… And other assorted tebow leg humpers …

and yet another sell out… nice work Amy and Mark. NFL exec of the year has got to be Amy Trask.

  • RaiderRockstar

the Steelers can probably beat the Browns without Big Ben, like they shut out the Rams last week.

Do you think they’ll try with a Home playoff game at stake?

That would be funny if the Ravens lost to Cincy and the Steelers won with Charlie Batch and we got to host Baltimore in RD1

Giants-Cowboys is a near impossible game to pick. That game could be a nail-biter, or won by either team by 28. Cowboys definitely should’ve won the last one, but I guess I think the Giants will win this one based on homefield advantage.

Packers and Saints are clearly the class of the conference, IMO. Niners have the best D, but I just don’t see them being able to score with those teams. I think a team like the Lions could give the Niners all they could handle.

I still want the Jets to win the early game, so we have 2 teams to hope for in the afternoon: Chiefs and/or Ravens.

With Ford, Jones, Moore, and Bush, Palmer has some weapons to work with.

I like our chances on Sunday.

  • No Mas Diamante

I loved that smack by Seymour. rapelisburger is a big dude… by the way, i work part time where the alleged rape took place and every employeee that has been there for a while, and there are many, said it was a rape and there is a cover-up. The pres of Harrahs / harveys is a real scum.

what about Marc Trestman & Rich Gannon?

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNoi_wwzbtQ Zymurge

Huff’s return is huge for this game. River’s most reliable target is Gates. He’ll still get his, but Huff should be able to contain him and prevent him from getting deep. Take away that bread and butter option, and then Rivers needs to rely on his WRs to stretch the field. Routt is a good matchup for VJ, so I like the Raiders chances here to cover tight enough to get consistent pressure on Rivers. When that happens, it’s choke time for Phillip!

After a huge loss (Giants) two ways a team can respond fold or furious thought for sure the Jets had the pride to beat down Miami. However an ESPN “insider” on ESPN radio this morning said Ryan and team seemed deflated

  • http://raiders.com Albert Bigelow Paine

Jets still have a chance to make playoffs, right?

  • hwnrdr

So we sold out? Who would have thought that? Wasn’t it said on here that we won’t sell out another game after the Bills loss?

I would rather face TJ Yates in the playoffs on the road rather than Rapelisburger limpin at home…plus I was at the Texans game this year when we beat them with Schaub, and there were plenty of Raider fans in attendance including myself

Most thrilling and enjoyable game I have ever been to in my life and I will be on the phone as soon as the clock strikes double zero once we get the wildcard..

Yep… Jets have slime chance …

Jets would need the Raiders to lose…. That ain’t gonna happen ..

Tebow can not prevail. The AFC West championship is our destiny. It is in the cards. The fact that Kyle Orton is playing against the Broncos is a sign from the football gods. Tebow’s time is over. This is the year of Al Davis not Timothy Tebow.

  • fingers

Fk Tebow… And the Donks …

…or another possibility. Tebow and the Broncos win the Super Bowl. During the post game ceremony, the rapture comes and the world ends just like the Mayans predicted.

    The Donks will fold…

  • GoodOle00

Don’t count KC out. Many players want Crennel to come back and Orton definitely would like to put a hurt on Denver.

Hes got the weapons to do it. They beat a dinged up Green Bay. They can handle the Donks.
