Jason Campbell’s Raiders teams finished 8-8 each year, and he was inactive due to injury, pulled due to injury or outright benched in almost half of the 32 games.

    What a winner!!!

With that “winning” resume, he should find a nice contract and starting gig somewhere right?

  • GoodOle00

Because alot of them were garbage picks. Because Palmer only played in that many games.
Because injury made chemistry impossible. Because on and on…

  • fingers

The Defense couldn’t force 1 punt Sunday…. Can’t win games like that…. Palmer can’t play his game… Hue can’t call his game….. It’s catch up once you get behind .. And the Raiders dont have a defense that allows an offense to catch up

  • L.A. Raider Dave

Defense should be getting most of the blame for this year. Injuries and turnovers come in 2nd and third. The defense was fooling NO one!

  • daraider09

So Palmer throws for 400+ yards and doesn’t turn over the ball until the defense had already given up 38 points and he is somehow what ails us? Jesus some people are retarded.
    *************************************************

Yes and that one pick was because Ford slipped and fell coming out of his break. It was an easy pitch and catch. Something they had been doing all afternoon.

  • zopi

Typical from this blog, everything that turns good has to be anybody but Mr. Davis doing, yet everything that is not good must be Mr. Davis.

Typical Oakland Raiders journalist, “DHB is the 3rd or 4th receiver in the depth chart, changing the tune from 6th. Blackmon from OK State is definitely a 7th pick on the draft.” So I guess he implies DHB was not worth the 7th pick. Is this DHB burden to carry his entire career? Is this Corky’s revenge on a dead man?

  • JESUS

please explain why 16 picks in 8 starts isnt a problem.

    —————————————
Because he is an elite QB worth 2 first round picks that will lead us to 8-8 every year !

Please explain why JC couldnt come back in the 6-8 weeks as planned?? Please explain JC throwing directly to Patrick Chung? Please explain JC’s inabiltiy to slid? Please explain…

Is this guy a troll or what?

  • Just Fire Baby

I think if we would have scored when it was 38-26, even if there would have been 4 minutes or so left in the game, I would have said F it and just onside kicked it.

Probably a higher chance of recovering that than forcing a punt.

  • Dakota

    Lmn,

I have to disagree about huff at cb. I recall a lot of speculation that huff would be unable to play cb at the NFL level due to a lack of fluidity in his hips.

Huff at cb next year will be an epic fail.

    +++++++++++++++++

Okay, first of all, it was 13 INTs in 9 starts.

3 of the 16 you love to cite came against KC when he was thrown into the fire because Kyle Boller had one of the great meltdowns in QB history and was basically forced to go out there and try to play sandlot football.

Even you have to admit the pick yesterday only happened because Jacoby Ford fell down. That’s down to 12 INTs in 9 starts. Balance that against 16 TDs. Pretty good for a guy who didn’t get up off his couch until late October.

  • GoodOle00

    450. Undecided on McClain. The whole arrest thing was a massive distraction and suc-ked and he was hobbled by a bad ankle alot of the time that he played on.

Have to say, Bres did not cater to his defenses strength. He simply called the smae lame game over and over and over and then blamed the players for not executing.

If McClain was gone next year? Wouldn;t be sad but think he could still pull it together in yr 3…

  • JESUS

Hue Jackson needs a GM now !

  • inonewordraider

whoever isn’t excited about seeing CP with DMAC Taiwan Ford DHB Moore Myers Ausberry and possibly Boss and Bush next year isn’t a Raiders fan. Jc with that same cast doesn’t garner the same kind excitement

We need to ask all the hip aficionado’s from this past preseason.

While DVD was getting roasted, all I heard about was how he would be a great DB because of how “fluid” and “smooth” his hips were.

  • ElkGRaider

I would take DHB, DWow, and Ford any day of the week. Give them a couple years and would be right there as the best. 2012 starting WR’s are set. Heck, our O-line is almost set. Focus entirely on the D…

He was throwing to receivers with no speed, who couldn’t run routes, and didn’t fight for balls. 5 of the picks were due to bad hands and tips. At least he didn’t throw a pick to a nose tackle in coverage. Would have liked to see what he could have done with a healthy Moore and Ford.

    Not 1 Fk’n stop… Couldn’t do it… Gawddddd…

  • GoodOle00

    456. COrky’s bias is juvenlie and uber annoying. Wish he’d man up and just report.

Clearly he has a problem with the Raiders, the HC and some of the players plus, worst of all, it clouds his judgement and he is WRONG too often.

  • hwnrdr

Ok, I will say it again…my heart friggen stopped when JC went down against Cleveland! But what was Hue supposed to do? Maybe we should have taken the Bears approach but…my football season would have been done in October!

  • Dakota

    Vegas,

I hear ya. I thought fluid and smooth hips only counted when picking cheerleaders, but I guess CBS need them too lol.

  • GoodOle00

    465. DVD is a liability. Dude is the biggest pu-ss when it comes to tackling. Just gawd awful wimp shying away from tackles like hes alergic to contact.

    Steves a hack.

    “16th in points?!”

Add in the missing players bone head. Ford, Moore, DMC, JC prolonged injuries.

New QB added to that mix and viola’ REALITY. not must lame stats that don’t take real factors into account.

IBA is the best, but Steve holds a bias against “Hubert” already and has been wrong several times despite his years of supposedly following Oakland.

    Jerry was the bizz omb

    —————————-

The injuries don’t explain how they could move the ball well downfield to the red zone then stall out. And going for it on 4th down in the first quarter rather than kicking a FG is another way you miss out on points. You’re so full of crap.

And Steve Corkran – yet again today – says Hue deserves a second season to prove himself. Scroll up and do the replay. You’re making sh!t up about this bias. All in your head. You either have an active imagination or are a flat out liar.

And Jerry Mac said on multiple occasions that he is not a fan of the Oakland Raiders.

You clearly don’t follow any of this closely and just drop in here from time to time looking to argue about your imagined issues.

  • daraider09

Look the bottom line is this. We have Carson Palmer. He is a top notch calibur passer. He throws a lot of picks because he pushes the ball down the field. He also makes much more explosive plays because of this risk taking style.

Campbell was much more steady, less turnovers. But his best plays over the past 2 years came off of screen passes and dump offs. nothing over 15 yards it seems. Campbell relies on the run game to set up the pass. Whereas Palmer can put the team on his shoulders, and throw the ball all over the yard when protected and healthy.

Campbell is a great guy and great for the locker room, by all indications, but he cant win a championship for you.

With DMC healthy and any semblance of a defense, Palmer has this team as a playoff favorite and probably 11-5. Even with all the INTs. Campbell is just too limited in ability for that to ever be the case.

My biggest problem with Palmer is that I wish he didnt cost us so much for the future. Had we waited until the offseason to get him, he would have cost us much less, like a 3rd rounder. But we also wouldnt have been in any kind of playoff race and would be in the top 10 pick range, with Boller under center. How are we going to get better on defense when we have so few picks?

These are my thoughts on the Palmer/Campbell issues and the dilemna it has created for our beloved team. Would it have been worth it to throw this season away and wait to get Palmer and still have these picks knowing we have lots of talent for th future? Maybe so…

  • JESUS

Carson Palmer’s 80.5 rating is the greatest performance ever! Those 16 INTS don’t count because he was not at his best without all his weapons . If only he had his weapons he would have thrown only 10 INTS in 8 games . Glad we gave up the future for this gunslinger. Hue great play calling as well !

  • Just Fire Baby

So Mistic is furious over the Carson Palmer dealing, and clearly a tad frustrated with his former BFF Hue Jackson making the move.

Maybe next time you won’t mock a quality backup QB like Bruce Gradkwoski. If Gradkowski were still here, we might have tried to stay the course with him for this year, and bring back Soup next year.

Serves you fkn right for being only a fan of certain players.

  • Mistic1 Tha Supavillain

yep just like i thought there is no good explanation that justifies 16 picks in eight starts. Only very very weak excuses.

  • GoodOle00

    http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Oakland-Raiders-coach-Hue-Jackson-power-mad-Indianapolis-Colts-Bill-Polian-shocker-Schein-9-010312

“Jackson has become a power hungry, irresponsible head coach and football czar who has set the Oakland Raiders back for a few years. Jackson’s ego ruined the 2011 season for Oakland. For the betterment of the Raiders, Jackson must be stopped.”

“The undisciplined Raiders set a new record for penalties in a season, a reflection of the coach”

    ======

Rife with inaccurate BS. What a f’ing joke this guy is. Then again, he works for FOX and they are used to making up lies and misleading the public aren;t they?

What a f’ing HACK! Sorry Steve, you look aces by compaarission to this idiot.

  • hwnrdr

JFB, not gonna argue there about Grads! If we had him, we could have hold up on our future! But not so sure where we would have been…but at least we would have had picks!

  • stablersbeard

    Hue’s false statements to date:
We’re going to build a bully
I know what needs to be fixed and I will fix it
We’re going to win the AFC west
    The best players will play
    Players will be held accountable

Who can trust anything this guy says? He’s all about what’s best for Hue Jackson, NOT what’s best for the team. The way he separates himself from problem areas on HIS team is a telling trait.
He saw in the 2nd game of the season that the defense was in a shambles, and he chose to ride with it the rest of the season? How is that being accountable?

There is no way on Earth Hue should have more of a hand in anything to do with the team. He’s turning into a dumpster fire in Alameda.

He DID out-perform my expectations. When he was promoted, I told everyone I know that they’d be 7-9 this year.

    So there’s that….

  • Raider J

Rough ending to an “eh” season. A good offseason is crucial.

Im signing out until I hear something newsworthy.

    2012 Raiders playoff or bust

  • Deja vu

I think if we would have scored when it was 38-26, even if there would have been 4 minutes or so left in the game, I would have said F it and just onside kicked it.

Probably a higher chance of recovering that than forcing a punt.

    —————————-

I was thinking the exact same thing…but in the 3rd qtr. That D isn’t gonna help.

  • stablersbeard

481… I don’t know, man… I was thinking just about the same way watching that presser. It’s hard to argue with anything the guy wrote.

  • beach

I think Cork’s comments about Jacoby and others is a little too much! You get paid to win football games. I can’t believe the players were that upset about the way Campbell was treated. The worst thing was probably Saunders saying he had a REAL QB with Palmer. The goal is to eventually win the Super Bowl, not hope to make the playoffs. Alex Smith is as good or better than Jason Campbell. That is not what I want for my RAIDERS!

  • fingers

Yep… Everytime I thought Palmer might mount a comeback , the defense would allow another Td…… Our Defense couldn’t get off the field without allowing a TD

  • beach

And one more comment about that sorry excuse of a defense: they blew or almost blew every game in the 4th qtr, with the exception of the first KC game and New England, where the game was already lost before the 4th qtr!

  • beach

Fingers, one 3 and out at the 1 yard line and that place would have shook to an earthquake. We would have won that game, I tell you!

  • zopi

    A Nation divided.
That’s what 8-8 does. One can say look at the 8 losses, the other look at wins. Plus, add a bunch of excuses and there Hue go.

One sides with HueSux and Palmer, the other side wants them both fired.
No matter what it’s said or written from either side, the Raiders are stuck with both for the next season.

Can’t predict anything, but I can say that HueSux will have it all his way. His histrionics of Sunday and then Monday made things very clear. He wants more control of the organization, and that’s a bottom line. Given by chance that a strong GM would be hired to control HueSux, that would only cause trouble. My guess is that Mark Davis and Amy Trask, plus the “council of elders,” would rather have an egomaniac running the Raiders.

The team does become the reflection of the coach. HueSux saw what the Raiders were like on the Buffalo game, and they were just like him, so he went on a 14-game denial. It was ALL on HueSux, until the end when it was ALL on everybody else.

  • firehue

has hue been let go yet? 8-8 is for losers

  • Raiderhead77

One thing about Coach Jackson, at least he admits and stands up. He said he learned a lot as a first year head coach. It seems when we give someone a chance to be a the head coach, they go on some where else and succeed. He stood up some, lets give him a chance. But the defense has to be fixed. Hey Hue go hire some of Nick Saban’s defensive coaches or Les Miles at LSU. Lets get some new blood. And I like the choice of hiring a GM.

  • Raiderhead77

Everyone wants more control, hell look at our country.
    Control has to be limited.

  • Raiderhead77

And that is why we need to fix the defense. To many TD’s costing us games. Get some new blood.
