Moss gets his interview, Capers on McKenzie’s radar

As expected, Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie reached out to Green Bay Packers assistant head coach/linebackers coach Winston Moss. An ESPN report says McKenzie interviewed Moss eight days ago, one day before the Packers’ season ended with a loss to the New York Giants.
All along, Moss has been considered the favorite from this corner, given McKenzie’s strong tied to Moss and the fact McKenzie has told people close to him in the past that he would hire Moss as his head if given the opportunity.
Moss isn’t the only name linked to an interview for the vacancy created by the firing of Hue Jackson on Jan. 10. CBS’ Charlie Casserley said today that McKenzie has requested permission from the Packers to interview defensive coordinator Dom Capers.
McKenzie has not spoken with the media since his introductory news conference Jan. 10. A Raiders official said he is could not confirm Moss’ interview and that the team won’t comment publicly until a coach is hired.
Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Mike Tice is scheduled to interview with McKenzie on Tuesday.

Maybe Reggie asked Moss to come on as a DC instead of HC and Moss has always thought he would get the HC gig if Reggie was promoted so he is mad at Reggie.

Might be Ravens last chance wit the ball.

During the presser something was mentioned about budget. Mark had told him what he’s willing to spend. We will probably never know. But I just don’t understand how they go from your my guy if I get the gig to having a bad interview. Not to mention the interview was never reported and Moss passed up the chance to say he had an interview when ask about the Raiders.

    Seems weird

The only thing that I can think of is that the interview was a disaster. Maybe Reggie was asking tough questions, and Moss didn’t know what he was talking about. IF (and I’m saying if) that was the case, we wouldn’t want him as our HC anyway. We got our fill of “entitlement” with Lance and Hue.

    C’mon Dakota!

  • Also, interviewing Moss, then asking for permission to interview Capers makes no sense unless Moss is no longer in the running. Looks like Marty Morhninweg will be our next coach. Hopefully he changes his name to something easier to spell.

I think Dakota is fuk with us and is getting all this talk and is laughing his a$$ off.

  • irmoscraider

    @ the budget….lol

Who knows what “the session did not go particularly well” means….might mean the KFC Slaw was sour or the Cheeseburgers had too many onions….never know.

  • DKnight007

hahaha….it’s funny but sad, that McK is talking to and actually considering bad retreads like Capers, Tice, and Morningwheg, but is not even bothering with a GOOD retread like Gruden that MOST of the Raider Nation would love to see come back as head coach??

    Wow. How weird.

It is being reported that Cindy Gruden, wife of former Raiders head coach Jon Gruden, will be interviewing for the same job her husband held ten years ago. Amid rumors….

Ok Giants, kick some forty whiners azz

I just heard the window closing for the Ravens.

  • rayraider

    Don’t think it’s going to be Moss…just a feeling.

  • raiderfankirk

    Ray done.
Ray. Lewis head coach. Think he understands 3-4 and leading men?

  • JohnnyRaider

I was hoping the Ravens would have won today, see how Sterling Moore saved the day for New England. Hue should have never released him, Sterling Moore is way better than Routt in my opinion. Go Giants, can not stand New England with the Tuck Rule.
