Jerry, why can’t you post this immediately after Schefter does? I know you are on twitter. Were you too busy working out or something?
January 23rd, 2012 at 10:35 am
Is this still on since Jerry saved the day? Get rid of Steve and get Jerry back full time.

Raiders aren’t going anywhere.
LA needs to prepare for the Dischargers.

Cork is hung over after post game parties last night. Probably got hammered as usual.

Or the return of the Rams!
January 23rd, 2012 at 10:43 am
I haven’t had time to do anything more than skim through all the long threads here, so forgive me if this has been chewed over already, but…
What do you think about Marc Trestman as OC? Didn’t JM once write a column about how successful his offenses had been in Oakland? And how he has continued that success in Canada? Why has he been exiled to the land of hockey?

Rams are more likely. Or maybe the Vikings. The Vikings don’t even have a current lease right now, and are refusing to sign a new one unless a new stadium plan is included. They have until February 15th to notify the league if they plan to leave Minnesota.

Trestman’s been a very successful HC in Canada. No way he comes back to the lower 48 for anything less than an HC position.
January 23rd, 2012 at 10:47 am
I certainly wouldnt be sad if Dennis Allen was going to be our next HC!

Perry.
Fewell.

Hopefully Allen doesn’t fall asleep before Reggie gets a complete sentence out.

I’m seeing the same Giants Defense with Perry Fewell & Robert Nunn as I did with Steve Spagnuolo & Mike Waufle.
at some point, you have to wonder if it’s just the players!
Rob Ryan = John Marshall = Chuck Bresnahan.
horrible run defense !!!
January 23rd, 2012 at 10:53 am
I just want our defence to be good real good, I think we have good players on the d but there will be contact issues for their production. So huff, seymore, wimbly, routte, McClain and kelly could all be gone. If we can get picks in exchange I ain’t losing any sleep over it.
January 23rd, 2012 at 10:55 am
The city of industry is a joke. I’ve never partied there and never will.
Although I may have banged a chick from Cheetah’s in Industry when I was high on grass.
Roski can stick his stadium up KrappyKell’s rear end.

It’s the antiquated Al Davis defense we were running. Bring someone like Allen in, let him run his own defense the way he wants, and watch us actually stop opponents for a change.

Different players over a 7 year span.
Same results.
Al Davis’ defense. Not those guys…except Bresnehan this season. And he isnt qualified anyways. Thats why he spent time in the UFL before Al hired him.
We need a good defensive coordinator.

Found this on Allen, #1 ranked defense with this guy!
Dennis Allen was a Melbourne based drug dealer who was reported to have murdered many victims.
Allen, nicknamed Mr. Death or Mr. D, was believed to have been involved in up to 13 underworld murders, including the dismembering of a Hells Angels biker with a chainsaw.

Remember, Allen would be the real DC, so Smith’s skill level as Coordinator wouldn’t matter.

Allen is intriguing as HC but he doesn’t strike me as a guy that will send Seymour or RoMac to the locker room in the second quarter and say this at the post game presser:
Can’t play wit’em.
Can’t coach wit’em.
Can’t win wit’em.
Can’t do it.
January 23rd, 2012 at 11:16 am
Everybody is talking about all these nice city walks with stadium plans.
LA Live already exists.
All they need is word from a team and part of the convention center goes down and Farmer’s Field breaks ground.
January 23rd, 2012 at 11:17 am
From his wikipedia page:
“Allen is known for his aggressive “bend but don’t break” defensive play calling that gives up a lot of yards, but also forces many sacks and turnovers. In 2009 in New Orleans, the Saints ranked 3rd in interceptions despite giving up 321 yards per game. Allen’s Broncos are currently in the bottom half of yards allowed, ranked 23rd, but are 5th in the league in sacks.”
Forcing turnovers is great, but Bresh’s “bend but don’t break” broke our playoff hopes. If this is the guy, and we don’t add serious playmakers, the D is going to be horrendous again.

As much as people make fun of Singletary sending V.Davis to the lockerroom and making that infamous rant, in an interview last wk. V. Davis said he credits that “incident” with not only turning his career around but his life.

The idea that Marc Trestman [was great OC for the Raiders] is not getting a look for HC is terrible, he has a great record in the CFL winning championships on top of an impressive NFL career.
LA is not in the books for a Raider move anytime soon
