Former Packers HC Mike Sherman is 1st candidate to be asked to interview for Tampa Bay Buccaneers HC job for a second time, per NFL source.

At least we aren’t getting Mike Sherman.

    Duck

come on, Dennis Allen? 24th? SUBSTANTIAL? The return of Elvis Dummerville was enough to take a D from 30th to 24th.

Von Miller was kinda helpful too.

What Wade Phillis did in Texas is SUBSTANTIAL.

  • Twocents

Tweedy, no, that is not what I’m saying. I would not hire either of them to coach my team. Don’t think they are in the top tier.

    ******************************************

Sick and tired of seeing Raiders hire and fire coaches for every reason under the sun.

Gruden has famialarity with the organization.

Not afraid to cut the cancer.

It would be national news and the nation would know the Raiders are relevant once again.

    Not rocket science.

    Ghost,

95.7′s promo used to have a voice saying that there was only one football team and one baseball team in the bay area, then a voice broke in and said, “not anymore”. Their actual model was to be both a Raider and Niner station. Guess that’s no more.

  • alex7

Who else has interviewed Winston Moss?

    (crickets, crickets)

    Dennis Allen interviews? (crickets)

    Marty Mornhinweg interviews? (crickets)

The guy has to be a Whiner troll. Between calling in death threats to Kyle Williams and dry heaving in the loo, the guy has to come here and post gibberish.

  • http://raiders.com Albert

    Colts are interviewing Chuck Pagano.

  • http://www.raiderettes.com Sullivan44

And, Eric Davis is a spaz. He always gets that offended look on his face when anyone is critical of the 49ers. Just a crybaby.

  • alex7

    Outta here, good night all.

    Just remember:

The guys we have interviewed have interviewed with ZERO other teams.

Sounds like an Al coaching search to me.

“I had a great experience, or sentence,” Pagano said at the time regarding a prior stint with the Raiders. “Well, I can’t say sentence, a two-year sentence in Oakland. And congratulations to Hue Jackson, it’s well deserved. And he will earn every cent that they pay him. It won’t be much, but he will earn every nickel. But I had a great experience out there. And two years was plenty.”

It’s a pretty safe bet that Pagano won’t be added to the interview list with the Raiders.

    Sad but true.

  • ghostraiders

I think 2nd interviews are normally a pretty good indication that You’re the front runner for a job… atleast how it looks… Dennis Allen might be the Guy.. IMO. . Until Reggie brings someone else in for another look.. Allen’s definitely the front runner.

  • Twocents

Well maybe zero other teams have a clue.

  • http://raiders.com Albert

Ghostraiders, Mike McCoy was a second interview in Miami. He didn’t get the job.

  • king24

If Reggie is moving into the second round wouldn’t that mean he’s narrowed it down to Allen, Moss, Bowles and Morningweig?

  • alex7

Yes, he’s narrowed it down to the only guys that he’s actually interviewed. :)

The Al Davis’ way of thinking.

  • http://www.addictedtoquack.com RaiderDuck

Again, Alex7 is going to hate on anyone not named Jon Gruden or Hue Jackson.

  • Twocents

Alex, Al had his vision, it proved to be faulty. Now it is McKenzie that will shape the Raiders future. I’m betting that McKenzie has better vision.

  • http://raiders.com Albert

Twocents, Al had a good vision. The only problem was it was 25 years outdated.

  • http://www.raiderettes.com Sullivan44

Duck, and you would hate on Gruden if he was hired. Sitting up there in the stands with your back turned, while everyone else is cheering on our first div. title since ’02. lol.

  • king24

570 my point was no Gruden…or anyone else is in the mix, including Dom Capers, who they reportedly just asked for permission to speak to. Not all that excited about that list, especially if Morningweig or Allen are the “front runners”.

  • Twocents

Albert, Al had his day, going up against weak opponents.
But at some point it became all about Al and his genius, not about winning football games.

Lovie Smith is an exception. I should have clarified by asking can anyone point to a time where the new GM who came kept the current coach AND had success the following year?

    =======================

I don’t think you can compare our situation to most. Most GM jobs come open because the other GM gets fired, which usually happends because the team had a bad year and they want change from the top to the bottom, so firing the HC is usually what happends. We had a unique situation where the long time owner/GM Passed. Our HC had a decent year considering everything that happend in his first year as a HC.

If Reggie would of kept Hue I would of ben more than fine with it, I understand he wants his own guy and Im fine with that to.

I just don’t think its fair to compare the Raiders GM hire to any Ol’ GM hire, it is a vey unique situation, don’t you think?

The Saints and Pats…made playoffs with good records and 30th ranked D’s….

    ^^^^^^^^
Uhh…those teams have top 3 QB’s in Brady and Brees….maybe….just maybe…while the Raiders had JC for half of the season and had to get Carson off of the couch mid season…plus the Raiders best offensive weapons like DMC and Ford were hurt.

    You lose…

    lol Duck

good job not posting the NAMES of those guys interviewed.

You probably wouldn’t be able to contain your laughter as you typed.

Or mention how no one else is interviewing most of them.

    ==============================================

Todd Bowles: Interviewed for multiple HC jobs, and went 2-1 as an interim head coach.

Marty Morhninweg: Former HC who’s run one of the NFL’s top offenses for half a decade.

Dennis Allen: Up-and-coming defensive coordinator whose unit showed substantial improvement with very little personnel turnover.

Winston Moss: Assistant head coach for one of the NFL’s most successful teams for several years running.

Again, these are all good candidates. But go ahead and continue to hate on anyone not named Hue Jackson or Jon Gruden. Yawn.

Pete Carmichael: OC for another of the NFL’s top offenses.

    ^^^^^^^^
It’s funny none of these alleged “hot” candidates got a sniff from other teams except Bowles in Miami and that was too satisfy Rooney Rule.

  • DKnight007

Told you all there was slim pickens out there regarding actual REAL candidates to replace Hue, not named Cowher, Fisher or Gruden.

The bad retreads list, Morning, Tice and Capers makes me want to puke and the psuedo coordinators like Carmichael, Bowles and Allen or terrible REACHES!!
