Why does everyone assume that when McKenzie said “I want to bring in my own guy” that he already had someone in mind for the HC job?

1. part of the reason is that he stated in his first press release as gm that he has a “short list of candidates”.
that’s a big reason why. that comment alone lead fans to believe that he had a clear idea of who he wanted to bring in.

on a side note: seems sensible that you don’t fire a guy without have a good idea of who will be (better than him) to replace him.

in truth, as far as most can see, the list seems to continues to grow on a daily basis with no ryhme or reason.

Perhaps Allen got the inside track in his interview because having faced us twice, he was able to offer Reggie a very astute assessment of our defensive strengths and weaknesses, not just regarding scheme, but regarding “talent.”

I have always felt that the media gave Davis too much credit for assessment of talent while scorning his meddling, and I do believe their assessments became rote:”Ohhh, the Raiders–sooooo much talent, soooo little achievement.”

Give me defensive backs that look back at the ball before you talk to me about talent.
