Allen was on a fast track to HC job

Spent a lot of time the last two days digging into the background of Dennis Allen, the choice of Reggie McKenzie to be the next coach of the Raiders.

Talked with Allen’s high school coach, Tim Edwards, (Allen played for the L.D. Bell Blue Raiders in high school) as well as his college coach at Texas A&M, R.C. Slocum. Reached a pair of his former college teammates and former NFL Players in Terry Mickens and Hunter Goodwin, as well as Allen’s father Grady, a former NFL player with the Atlanta Falcons.

“He’s always been ahead of the game,” Slocum said. “He’s mature beyond his years.”

Slocum said Allen, who was under consideration for the St. Louis Rams job that went to Jeff Fisher, had three different job offers when he left the Atlanta Falcons for the New Orleans Saints. According to Grady Allen, his son’s mentor while with the Falcons was longtime defensive coordiantor and defensive backs coach Emmitt Thomas.

Said Grady Allen: “He’s always had a knack for being around the ball, making plays, and he probably played at a level maybe one or two steps above what his athletic ability would lead you to believe that he could play because he’s such a student of the game.”

Click here for a link to the story which runs in Thursday’s Bay Area News Group papers.

Raiders punter Shane Lechler, another part of the Texas A&M family, was a redshirt in 1995 during Dennis Allen’s senior year at Texas A&M and was the Aggies’ punter when Allen served as a graduate assistant coach.

Lechler told reporters at the Pro Bowl he was intrigued to see what Allen can do as a head coach.

Near the end of our conversation, Slocum relayed the story about how the East Bernard High School standout switched from quarterback to punter.

“I got him one day and said, you know, you can hang around here for a few years and probably play some quarterback, because you’re a good athlete. But if you work on your kicking you can kick for a long, long time and make a living doing it,” Slocum said. “I told him, what I want you to do is go over there every day with the deep snappers and work every day on your punting and you’ll be the best punter in college football. Next time you see him tell him he owes coach Slocum.”

lol. last one. Wasbanned, you’re forgetting one thing. The concept of business COMPETITION. One company undercuts the others, the others are forced to lower their prices. Every time we raise taxes on the wealthy and lower taxes for everyone else, the economy has improved. See: 1990s.

LATER! Im now closing my lap top. lol.
    …….

In the 90′s that number was propped up by the Technology boom. Remember when that bubble broke?

Next it was the housing market that stimulated the economy. Look around you. Still seeing the effects of that bubble bursting.

Total inflation from January 1989 to December 2011 is 86.35%

But, hey. We’re not paying more for goods and services now. Competition solved all of that.

On average, the wealthiest people in America pay a lot more taxes than the middle class or the poor, according to private and government data. They pay at a higher rate, and as a group, they contribute a much larger share of the overall taxes collected by the federal government.

The 10 percent of households with the highest incomes pay more than half of all federal taxes. They pay more than 70 percent of federal income taxes, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Mystic1 is right (if you believe in Science and evolution as I do)

In the late 1800′s scientists were trying to find early humans to support the theory of evolution. They first started looking in Europe and South East Asia and found humans as old as 40,000 years but they were looking for older human species in an early evolutionary state it wasn’t until they started looking in Africa in the 1940′s until they found what they were looking for.

The earliest human skulls and remains have been found in Africa. So humans originated in Africa and migrated to other continents from there.

The theme today was all about racism. I find it interesting that the fact that the U.S. is killing innocent Arab men, women and children in the Middle East does not raise an eyebrow.

  • http://raiders.com Albert

Twocents, Middle Easterners are the new ethnic group that it is OK to racist about. It is sad, but true.

Did it just get STUPIDER in here? Yup, it sure did. JAMISTA CLOWN! So the rich pay more in taxes. Well, halleluleah!!! Do you not think it is weird that out of $21mm in income, Romney pays around $3mm in taxes? While middle income earners pay almost 50% of theirs when you factor in Fed, State, Local and sales taxes. Oh right, I forgot, math was never your strong subject. Neither was English, writing, logic, political science, history…..

Responding to that degenerate is senseless he is so uneducated its like arguing with a drunk.

No one pays 70% income tax unless you live in England.

50% is the highest tax bracket but yet guys like Romney and warren Buffett pays 16% or whatever it was.

Nixon ended that era and so did Reagan again in the 1950′s that was true tax was that high.

How come guys like Elton John, Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Paul McCarney and many many other proud English people became American citizens because they were getting taxed at 70% in Europe so they now live here and pay US taxes because its considerable less.

Last night I made the following comment under Corky’s post: “McClain will stand trial.”

“Ebony, sub-moron McClain needs to get his contract rescinded by the Raiders for moral reasons, and sent back to queer-nation with a banana between his teeth for the ape/half-monkey that he is.

I hope he burns over his crimes. Hopefully, he will “f” around in Alabama from whence he came and get capped between the eyes while entertaining some ni.ga nonsense in ‘bama’ ghetto.”

Later I made the following comment under this article submitted by Jerry Mac: “Allen was on a the fast track to HC.”

“McClain fits right into certain sterotypes and will be the cause of his own demise for engaging in nig.a nonsense. But it is all on him.

JaMarcus was the same way. Couldn’t even speak standard English, but instead spoke fluent ghetto slang, was lazy and fat and enjoyed purple drank more than lasting fame and fortune.

Because these boys don’t grow up with a daddy to whip their azz’s for bad behavior, they feel entitled as high-profile college athletes, then later as pros, to do anything they wish.

Then it all goes away, and rather quickly at that, and they wonder why? Look at TO who earned $80M during his career and is now dead broke and in arrears for $500k to his babies mamas: 4 kids by 4 different women, all as big as refrigerators.

Also, under the 1st Amendment and freedom of speech in an open and public forum such as this content of an individual’s speech is protected unless same person advocates illegality or such speech instigates “a clear and present danger” of violent behavior.

A person’s thoughts and speech are his own. Thank God for the U.S. Constitution.”

It seems that my two entries spawned a running discussion on race and racism which threaded throughout almost 900 comments.

    Let me say this:

65% to 70% of all NFL players are black, while demographically blacks represent 13% of the U.S. population. It seems that most of the black NFL players came from the predominant class of blacks in this country born and raised in the inner city, in single parent, father-absent-households, collecting serial welfare and public assistance, generationally.

This dominant sub-culture of blacks seems to disdain education and work, opting for ignorance and easy money. The young people from this sub-class (the ruined and enslaved generation) aspire to be either gang members, drug dealers, or “ballers”. In the case of “ballers” only a hyper-micro percentage will make the cut. Thus the vast over-numbers of young black men in prison and on death row, according to percentage of black population within the demographic ranks.

It cannot be denied that the blacks, due to past slavery, John Crow discrimination, and subsequent government entitlements and affirmative action programs are now on the brink of destruction.

To condone athletes’ behavior, like McClain, is disgusting. McClain gained his $25M contract because the fans like you and me put down our hard earned money toward it. His arrogant attitude in which he will not deign to do interviews or otherwise make himself available to his fans flies in the face of common sense and reason. His lack of performance and off-field antics don’t help his cause.

Even if McClain is not guilty of crimes he is alleged to have committed, he should have never been in the situation in that “bama” ghetto, engaging in “nig.a nonsense.”

He spits on and soils his fans, the Nation, and makes unclean one of the most storied franchises in the NFL.

I hope Reggie sends him away.
