JFORD should be movee to the slot. Let DMO, DHB, Chaz and Murphy man the outside…

    ————————————————————

So you don’t see us trying to use Reece and Ausberry like the Pats use Hernandez and Gronkowski?

    ++++++++++

This is a copy cat league for sure however, I am not sure how we use Ausberry.
however, I would hope to see more 3, 4 and 5 WR sets…

  • aig-raiders

IMHO, Ford dropped because Spiller was getting all the hype and Ford is a tiny dude compared to other WRs in this league. Look at the splashy big WRs getting drafted high in this league the last few years. Not many small dudes get drafted that high at the WR position. Even a playmaker like DeSean wasnt drafted in the first round.

    Ed Teach,

The Magics are offering either Hedo or Reddick to the W’s along with other players. Aint going to happen bro. Those guys are shooters and the last thing the W’s need are more shooters. The Ws should have drafted Shumpert over Klay. Dude can flat shut down the other team’s best guard and he is athletic as heck getting to the rim too.

    ********************************************************

I was responding to yet another of Dakota’s fake trade posts, Aig. Not recommending a deal with Orlando for shooters, or anyone else for that matter.

I wouoldn’t give up Monta for Howard in any scenario unless it’s a sign-and-trade and they have Howard under contract for more than just next year.

  • hwnrdr

That is true, for DHB’s part. But I seem to think that the WR Coach of the year will improve all receivers this year! At least I am hoping…wouldn’t it be great to see Ford, Moore and DHB just running down the field? Could be crazy…although that would also mean that Palmer needs to release friggen fast!!!

  • DIRT-LOT FOOTBALL

DOES MCKENZIE WANT OR NEED TO MAKE A SPLASH (MARIO WILLIAMS OR SOMEONE LIKE HIM)IN HIS 1ST FREE AGENCY PERIOD AS A GM ?

Why did J Ford drop to rd 4 anyway?

    Was it durability concerns?

    +++++++

Same reason why DMO went 5th rd…Some folks just didnt see it….

  • hwnrdr

Dirt Lot, nothing will surprise me, but I doubt we go hard after Mario…may be too flashy of a signing for Reggie!

  • hwnrdr

Thec, and boy I am glad that all teams passed on him 5 times!!!

  • Thec

Best play I saw DMO make was the hit he took in collge in the bama game…dude has heart, and is a natural…

  • J Hill

Hue’s rendition of who should start was fatally flawed and no base line from which to judge starters and non-starters.

    ———————————————————–

I’m not using Hue’s lineup at all.

I don’t share the same DHB bias that you have. I think by the end of the year, he showed a lot of us that he was a reliable guy. All pro??? Not saying that at all. Size, speed, and overall physical play says he should be starting. Moore is a no brainer too.

I agree with Thec that Ford should be a slot player.

I also think we need to use Ausberry and Reece more in the passing game.

    We have options.

Which is why I don’t see a loss in that area as a big deal. We hit on Murphy and Moore the last 2 years and there are PLENTY of good WRs in the league that were taken in the 4th rd or later.

  • Just Fire Baby

    Just stirring the pot folks.

I like Ford, but I don’t think he is irreplacable, and he is our best option to trade up in the draft, to draft SOMETHING THAT WAS REALLY KILLING US, our defense.

Did Jacoby make that much of an impact in the games he played last year? I can’t even remember what games he missed and what games he played in really. I know he fumbled in Denver to start the season, and returned a kick back against Cleveland. Ran a bad route in the season ender. Can’t really remember much else for 2012.

  • No Lo

I like Ford. He is versatile. He has good hands. He wants the ball and will go after it. He seems to be fearless and will go over the middle. His salary is acceptable. Was his injury a fluke? I say keep him. He is better than DHB but not Moore. There was some banter about trading him for a draft pick. Please name me one team who will give up anything higher than a 4th/5th round pick. I know some lunatic will say “you can get a higher pick.” Again, tell me what team.

  • Tjbwall

If the Raiders can get rid of Jacoby Ford for a 2nd or 3rd round pick im all for it.

I dont see that happening with the depth of the FA market & the draft though so ill keep dreaming

Precisely why Ford and a couple of late-rounders will not get us a 2nd.

  • http://repealitnow.org MistaBrown

    Moss signs with the 9ers.

  • Marks hair

I dont think we would get more than a 4th rounder for ford.. Not worth it imo.

  • aig-raiders

    Teach,

I was just adding to your comments. Not countering your comments at all. Agreed with all your points.

  • Just Fire Baby

Ford and a 5th would DEFINATELY get us a late 2nd rounder, IMO.

  • aig-raiders

I stopped hating the Niners as I got older but I think I just found a new reason to hate the Niners now. Can’t stand that effer Moss. If there was ever a quitter and thug, Moss takes the cake for that. Eff U I play when I wanna play.

  • Marks hair

Shonasty & Dmac are our only players with trade value..

I misunderstood you, Aig. My apologies.

  • Just Fire Baby

    AIG,

I like Shumpert’s game as well. Not sure if we should have taken him over Klay, but you don’t see many rookies get after it defensively like Shumpert does.

  • hwnrdr

With the Warriors being only 3 games out with a month to go…its gonna be interesting down the stretch…A straight up trade with Ellis and Howard I just don’t see West doing!

  • aig-raiders

Murphy is not the same dude since his 1st year. I dont mind letting that hot head go.

  • Marks hair

    68. No way..

  • aig-raiders

    JFB,

I’ve been following the Knicks every game since the Lakers game. That dude Shump is the real deal. Dantoni is an idiot for not letting him guard Rose or whoever is the other team’s best guard. They let Lin and Davis play at the same time late in the game when they were down. Those dudes are both defensive liabilities. Shump can flat out play. We have too many softies on our backcourt. Klay, Ellis, Curry, and Robinson are all defensive liabilities.

  • Marks hair

No one trades for player that wont be starters.

  • Just Fire Baby

AGree with all of you words but the last 5.

Nate Robinson is a very good on the ball defender. Stays in front of his man very well.

  • Thec

After having to scheme against these guys, I wonder what DA thinks about the Offense?

  • J Hill

I meant to say Ford, not Murphy.

But I do think Murphy can be a solid #4 WR or so.

I’m hoping JFB is right on this one guys. Nothing personal against Ford or any other WR we could get a 2nd for.

  • http://www.mailmachineshouston.com mikeschoice

i think plan is to use better trainer and fix practice field = hopefully less injuries to ford, mcfadden, moore,jones- hammy evry week

  • http://www.addictedtoquack.com RaiderDuck

If Dontari Poe slips down in Round 1, anybody think maybe Reggie trades away next year’s first-rounder for the right to take him? Dude could be a beast in the middle.

  • Tjbwall

Trade a first rounder? thats against Mckinzie’s religion
As much as I love Poe I dont see that happening. My guess is we take a loot at Bunkley or Franklin or somebody thru the draft like Ta’amu or whatever

  • Gdog

Who do have as big-time play-makers on offense?
    >>>>

    Carson Palmer.

Who does Brady have as play-makers?

It all starts with the QB. If Palmer has an all-pro year,we will have TONS of playmakers… Ford for a hot defensive LB or CB prospect??

I am not only all in… ALL ALL ALL IN!

If Palmer sucks next year, Ford will be irrelevant anyway..

  • Gdog

Please name me one team who will give up anything higher than a 4th/5th round pick. I know some lunatic will say “you can get a higher pick.” Again, tell me what team.
    >>>>

Any team that wants a burner WR and kick returner.

If he didn’t return kicks… I might agree. Al didn’t need to pick Moore because of Ford, but beings he did… and Moore is better, we need to trade him for deeper needs.

Thats why we got a “sensible” GM, right?

  • luvmarvhub

“If the Raiders can get rid of Jacoby Ford for a 2nd or 3rd round pick im all for it.

“I dont see that happening with the depth of the FA market & the draft though so ill keep dreaming.”

You’re right–it’s not happening. He wouldn’t bring much. Look at what Brandon Marshall just brought to Miami. WRs don’t bring that much in draft choices.

The only route that makes sense is an exchange trade, one player for another. That way each team knows what it is getting and the needs of both teams can be met.

  • raidertbone

Just settle down, everyone! There will be a lot of names out there, after teams cut players to get under the cap. There are many bargains to be had, and there will be many players with a chip on their shoulders. The trick will be finding the right fit at the right price, given the proper motivation – oh, and some good coaching, too!
