40 yd run by Tolbert mid way through the 4th qtr was a back breaker.

Defensive formation we had out there, the run was not surprising at all. 3 man line with Wimbley as one of the 3 and Houston standing up as an OLB over gate.

Needless to say Rivers audibled and right right over Wimbley’s side.

Later on, Lito and Gio get abused by Floyd for 6.

I wonder if that one series of plays got all 3 of them cut?

Kevin Boss has has so many concussions, even after not hard collisions, that I am surprised the NFL will even let him play again. He is the very kind of player the studies show should hang up his helmet before he has early onset Parkinsons.

“Is it safe to assume that DHB will be better next year?”

He may show improvement in route running, but it’s never safe to assume his hands and tracking the ball will get better. Might get a bit better in that regard, but not appreciably better.

Hand-eye co-ordination is set much earlier in life. Only part of this is, at this age, learnable. What he can try to control is tenseness. That might help make his hands softer if he’s trying to catch the long ball, but that’s about it.

Some people cannot both run and catch at the same time, which is why he had more success with short, possession catches (ran short route, stopped, waited for the ball), then caught ball with his stomach.

Don’t ask too much of him.

I don’t think we need to be to creative at all this season. I think we saw a lot of that trickery because the OC didn’t have a lot of faith in the QB just lining up and beating someone.

With the upgrade at QB and the maturation of our WRs, I think you’re going to see us just lineup in a lot of 3 WR sets with Ausberry at TE and just outscore people.

This same D-Line 2 years ago was in the top 5 as far as QB Sacks

Plus Seymour and Kelly are 2 years older and probably not going to be asked to play the shoot the gap style that we’ve become used to.
