Ok, so I guess the GM agreed with the 3 or 4 of us who said Barnes needs to be brought back if the truly the only other option was Barksdale.
Are people holding Veldheer to the same penalty standards? You do realize he had just as many penalties as Barnes AND they were the holding types instead of simple 5 yard false starts.
Cmon now … Be fair, lol.

BARNES=REALITY
below should be fair enough

Stop promoting Barnes. You People are making me sick!
Barnes?!
Should we bring Harris too?
************************************
Dude, check it out
Preseason 2011, 1st game, 1st quarter, Barnes committed like 3 false starts in 4 plays.
Was at best, false start waiting to end
Now at worst false start waiting to happen
Can’t say that’s not improvement

Khalif Barnes 2011 Raiders RT sacks allowed 3.5 for 15.5 yards; penalties 11 false start 6 holds 3 16 games started. Not bad stats
Last year our OL had low sacks & good run blocking but high penalties. Not bad. I think a key was bringing a lot of decent players in to compete best start worst cut.
Khalif less holds than most of our OLs in 2011 sad to say

IN: Bartell, Spencer, Underwood & Lee

OUT: Routt, CJ37, Sheppard & Eugene

I’m cool with it!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I second that opinion.
The least confortable cut (IMO)on that list would be CJ. I think the groin injuries that were apparent in the Buffalo game and kept him out were not fully healed when he bagan playing again. Add the sister murder and you have a defeated person...
I think CJ was a solid backup, not a dependable starter.

We say the same thing about Barnes every offseason. And he comes back and sucks every season hes been here. And during every season, we always say how we cant wait until Barnes is gone. Sorry, Ive seen enough of Barnes. Seen him kill enough drives with false starts and holds. He is not going to all of the sudden get better this season. Id rather take my chances on another lineman. We know EXACTLY what we have in Barnes.

@Dakota, Who are you refering too?

Too funny…these guys have zero clue how the Raiders could have kept guys like Routt and Wimbley and went on to fill out the roster, but they expect Reggie to somehow do so.

Dumbest fans in America too?

I could see signing Branch long term because of his age. Seymour doesn’t make tons of sense to me, Unless Big Reg is going to be doing some wheeling and dealing around the draft. If I’m a betting man I’m saying there won’t be any big moves this year.

*******

Do you see anyone taking him off our hands, especially since we paid him all that up-front bonus money for this year? I don’t see any wheeling and dealing that will move Seymour’s deal. We’re stuck with him imo.

——————-
when I said wheeling and dealing I was not refering to Sey, No one in there right mind would take him. I was just saying that maybe keeping Seymour would make more sense if Big reg was going to add more significent pieces to the team this year. Then I could understand keeping Seymour because Big Reg truly intended on making this more than a rebuiding year. As I said, I highly doubt that will happen.

**************

I think the proofs in the pudding, so to speak. We are all optimistic of the new regime and new structure, but if Reggie Mac’s going to tighten up the pursestrings…..there is no way…..

no way…

that anyone can interpret the Raiders 2012 offseason moves as anything but cap-clearing, rebuilding, look to 2013 moves.

Reggie Mac’s shooting blanks and forgot to load the gun.
++++++++++++++++++++++++
