Raiders get picks in 3rd, 4th, 5th rounds

The Raiders significantly added to their draft Monday with the announcement at the NFL owner’s meetings they would receiver compensatory selections in the third, fourth and fifth rounds.

Oakland’s picks, as announced on its Twitter account, are No. 95, No 129 and No. 168 overall.

The Raiders had picks in only the fifth and sixth rounds before compensatory picks were announced.

Compensatory picks come at the end of the round around and cannot be traded, not that general manager Reggie McKenzie is going to be doing much dealing with such a limited draft.

Reggie should try and restructure Kelly and DHB’s contracts now if he can.

  • Tricky70390

So it’s pretty much like getting an early 4th, and early 5th, and an early 6th

  • raider till i die

Thanx for clearing that up all of u I wasn’t to sure

  • Just Fire Baby

I think we will get two 4th’s next year for our Bush and Soup.

Remember though it is at the end of the round, so really a comp 3rd is really an early 4th, etc etc.

    ET,

Look at what he did with Tebow. Braxton ran a sub 4.5, and he can throw. I expect great things too.

    ********************************************************

Preppie won’t admit it, but I’ll bet he’s really nervous :)

  • DMAC

I don’t think Reggie will draft a RB. He might find an undrafted kid some where.
    He’ll probably take some LB’s/DL/OL.

    cannot trade comp picks

But having comp picks lets you trade your round 3+ placeholder picks more easily…

Forget Manny Lawson. He got a one-year, $3 million contract last season with the Bengals. He will want something in that range.

  • backstageatapuppetshow

And with the 95th pick in the NFL draft the Oakland Raiders select:

    Ronnie Hillman
    San Diego State

    “3rd Down Back”

    Get it done Reggie.

In retrospect, with the cap situation, it may not be so bad that we dont have a bunch of high picks.

Getting the house in fiscal order means, cant spend with frivolity…

Yo, getting pumped about those 3 picks, so I just wrote a sweet jam about Krappy’s pants falling down

Burfict is a Reggie pick NOT an Al Davis pick. The guy is a good football player but certainly not an adonis or a speedster.

Ran a 5. something at the combine. like 17 Linemen ran faster than him.

Has improved in the locker room and off field apparently after Ray Lewsi talked to him but hes a question worth asking in the 3rd.

    Have a great day Nation!~

    RE: Ronnie Hillman SDSU

    on 3rd downs…the smaller the better…

Look at the success of all the tiny RB’s in the NFL:

    Jones Drew
    Ray Rice
    Darren Sproles

Does this kid have the skills?

Don’t we have T. Jones for that?

  • http://InsidetheOaklandRaiders Goldie7

Well that’s just super duper! Thanks for the update Jerry! Hopefully Reggie will draft a scary nail eating Monster OLB or a Beast RB that can block or can play FB if needed(or maybe we can sign Cedric Benson in FA…on the cheap). Maybe we can sign a fearless intelligent bully C. Reggie need to keep the chains moving….let’s keep moving up! Let’s chop chop.

  • Thec

hillman is nice however, we need D help. Camp UDFA, or a hanger on for the vet minimum will fill thi spot….

  • Tjbwall

Id really like Alameda Ta’amu or Bobby Wagner to drop to us.

David Molk C from Mich is a really nice option strong zone blocker

    Danny Travethian Olb Ferocious Sleeper

Frank Alexander Olb/De pass rusher that the Raiders need

Acho/Bruce Irvin/Spence nice options at Olb
    Ganaway/Turbin/Pead – sleeper rbs

Absolutely. I’d LOVE to see Reggie trade next year’s first-rounder for one this year to take Dontari Poe (nose tackle who’s also a pass-rusher), but Reggie probably wants to keep that pick.

Ta’amu would be a good choice who wouldn’t cost us anything down the line.

    technically speaking we have two 3rds, one 4th, two fifths, and one sixth;

and with our 80th selection the Raiders draft, Mr. Terrelle Pryor, QB Ohio State University.

  • DMAC

I love Shonasty, but he’s coming off a serious injury.
I love Houston, but he doesn’t get to the QB much.(best suited for the middle,IMO)
We still need a pass rusher.

Taking off my sweatshirt right now so I can rock this jam in my swim trunks and fanny pack.

Looking forward to the draft however, the NFL needs to get it done in 2 days….

Spliting it up and stretching it is nerve racking.

Talk about milking the product, or stepping on the product…

NFL Network’s Steve Wyche said on Path to the Draft Friday that Arizona State ILB Vontaze Burfict has already been removed from some teams’ draft boards after a red flag-filled offseason.
“This guy had a second-round grade at one point,” noted NFL Net’s Charley Casserly. Burfict is going to work out for NFL teams again next week, but he’s been out of shape and thoroughly underwhelming throughout the pre-draft process. We wouldn’t expect Burfict to be drafted before the sixth round. Mar. 23 – 7:07 pm et

    6th rd??
I think raiders should take a chance on him even though i still think he will be gone before the 6th.

  • RaiderRetribution

We would have to compensate Cincinnati somehow in order to trade our 1st round pick for 2013 for a 1st round pick this year, as they have a lien on our 1st round pick for 2013.

  • raiderlization

So that means we can get Lawson for like $1,75 mil this season! LOL!

They only get that pick if we reach the AFC Championship this season. Otherwise, they get our #2. I’m sure Reggie could get Mike Brown to agree to something in its place, should we get to within one game of the Super Bowl.

Hey, any of you blog nerds seen Brian the Genital?

That chick basically vanished when his cousin – Cousin the Genital – choked out in the 1st round of the tourney.

Totally expected, but still pretty funny

Then, in classic Kelly Family meltdown mode, Brian threatened to kill a bunch of bloggers for making fun of him.

I’m sure he’s been locked away in Krappy’s basement crying his way through Forrest Gump for the 7,000th time, but let me know if you’ve seen the poor girl
