Raiders switch back into defensive mode with 6th-rounder

By Steve Corkran
Saturday, April 28th, 2012 at 1:42 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders selected defensive end Christo Bilukidi with the 189th pick of the NFL draft. Bilukidi played collegiately at Georgia State.
Bilukidi, 6-feet-4 and 289 pounds, recorded 10 sacks in two seasons at Georgia State. He is from Angola and also lived in Brazil, France and Canada.
He is the second defensive end selected by the Raiders in this draft and the third defensive player.
Pro Football Weekly’s assessment of Bilukidi is that he is versatile, while very raw and lacking in football instincts. PFW projects Bilukidi as a practice squad candidate.

Now it’s up to the coaching staff to get iut of this kid what they saw on film and workouts.

Because I have NEVER heard of him…but he sounds like a nice 3tech we can develope. Again quality depth BOYS!!

  5. xraided Says:

as is most of these picks .. still waiting for UDFA and the second round of cuts .. i’m willing to bet that BigMac is going to really shake some things up come that time. all the value players are there for you to pluck!

  6. priesttj Says:

    crickets***LOL

  7. aig-raiders Says:

Very good film on Christo on youtube. I like the pick. He dominated against his level of competition, which you’re supposed to do. If you can’t dominate there, how the heck will you do in the Pros.

  8. Raiders for life Says:

Still have 2 picks in the 7th…good move.

  9. Area man Says:

Have seen worse drafts by us. Any kid from Angola has got to be hungry, especially a 290 lb kid.

  10. morilla Says:

This is why I don’t guess at the draft. It’s laughable. Those guys in war rooms know what they are doing.

Researching all of Reggie’s picks so far just solidifies that. The dude knows what he’s doing. He’s done it before with the Packers and he’s doing it now.

    A new era in Oakland.

The more I think of the Criner pick I like it, because our speed guys were breaking down a lot and we needed a guy with size to develope along with them and it makes for a nice mix. So far I love this draft….

    Don’t YOU…….LOL

All speculation, optimism, and pessimism, folks. Truth is we won’t know until this season or maybe up to 3 seasons from now.

  16. priesttj Says:

  17. irjonny Says:

yeah alphonzo dennard should have already been picked. wonderin whats up with that. would love to see a 7th spent on him if still available

  18. RaiderBrick Says:

“Guys know what they are doing in the war room”??

Actually, in spite of all the resources giving them info on players, including watching, and combines and all, every year, every team cuts players they were sure was gong to make it.

Quite a bit of luck involved.

So, Cristo & Crawford came to the US because they love football.

Just trying to embrace Reggie’s rationale.

I do think we got one starter one potential starter by the end of the season. One that will be our #4 or 5 receiver and two for the practice squad. Only 3/5 make this team on the roster. That is good considering these are picks starting at the end of the 3rd round.
